I hate how people see our great epics as myths, because they are not, just because there are no videos from the actual mahabharat era doesnt mean it didnt happen, people say greeks existed but have a hard time believing that MB happened!! I think whether this show is happeing in 21st century or some other century or even if they are trying to humanize the events that took place in Dwapar yug it is the makers primary duty to show things what epic says especially in important things like Draupadi's marriage to 5 pandavas

If one doesnt believ in previous birth things its fine its their choice but makers need to give them that choice.What i mean is if you are making mahabharat a religious epic into aTV serial its one's moral responsibility to show what the epic says for example in Draupadi's marriage and then let viewers decide whether thet beleive in this or not.Just because some viewers wont accept teh previous birth thing doesnt mean they completely skip it

But isn't it really kind of situational, because for pandavas and draupadi, it was there dharma or as pointed out by some, even vyas and krishna call it their dharma but in today, see if someone marries 5 men and at that men who are siblings or a man who marries five sisters because of some dire situation they are forced in and get away with it by calling it their dharma.

And perhaps it was their dharma in that situation but the society wont accept it, moreover it will actually be called adharma by the society in today, anyways, it will be blown up all over the news channels and new papers, probably on the first page of times india, twitter trending topic and youth, religious fanatics ranting about it on ever social outlet. People can barely accept live-in couples in india, they tend to get all offended and uncomfortable about it.you cant even imagine a group in polyandrous or polygamous relationship( where the husbands are brothers or the wives are sisters) living next door to you or in the same colony or society and not make it the gossip of the ages, the group will be prone to slurs and bashing, moreover in some parts of india, they wont be even allowed to live in the area and it can end up in violence too.As for the interpretation of epic, it is actually interpreted differently not just in different times, but by different individuals too, the events, situations, the characters and their doings, all tend to be 'interpreted' differently, e.g. this forum.😆

Actually, i was going in the right direction with this, Ved vyas said that for the pandavas, they will be doing this for the establishment of dharma, but the same thing if done when not in the situation the pandavas are in, will be 'ghor paap" or something.

Say, men in those time had more than three wives or more, vichitravirya married two sisters, had to marry three sisters, do you think the society will accept it today or not condone it?<<the feminists will lose it for sure>>. Most women would love to have their husband beaten up by her "miekay waalas" for ever bringing a saut or already having a wife and making her the saut, let alone, have three sauts or be one of the many herself.
