Diala - you are right. GPB specifically references HP, but maybe he considers HP symbolically - as in its the capital of the kingdom. N if kingdom is split he can go with either half?🤣 Technically though you are correct - HP and IP are 2 different locations legally
I think that Bhishma himself went into some sort of temporary mental shock when he heard Yuddhi first stake Nakul / Sahadev and then Arjun / Bhim. Perhaps he was thinking if Yuddhi was the proper King to begin with... and as such wasn't able to think. Not sure about Drona though... but seeing as Drona and Drupad never became friends again, it would be easy to think that Drona didn't care all to much about Draupadi ... but that still doesn't explain why he wouldn't stand up for the Pandavas wife ... who after all were the ones who captured Drupad... ahh... this doesn't make sense!!!!

Caught you 😆.. citation please 😉 I too dont read any other oath than to quit the throne for Satyavati's sons and remain celibate so that his future generations dont claim the throne.. am not sure if there is something like that in Bheeshma Parva which I have not read fully..
Molesting a slave isnt adharam?Originally posted by: ...Diala...
My interpretation of their silence is very simple.. nothing to do with their namak halal.. they had to be silent when Draupadi was molested because she was indeed a slave of Duryodhan..

So to summarize even if i give writers the leeway that his oath was to establish dharam in HP and HP and IP were both part of his oath it still doesnt make sense to me
