Also I would like to say...be it India or any other culture...In a relation of Husband and wife though we think that we are equal but somewhere or the other , husbands are master and wife is considered as a slave...Thus practically a husband can have many slave but a slave cant have more than one master...

We should be proud of Draupadi that she had tht courage to handle many husbands and make the masters her slave...

she had feelings for Arjuna from the time of the Swayamvar. He won her in the swayamvar. Draupadi had feelings for Arjuna from Swayamvar time...

😆Marriage rules apply for both men and women...but I should say men were unopposed and had their temptations fulfilled...but women had to follow rules.🥱

Draupadi being a kanya every day was stressed number of times.But men had no such issues!

So Draupadi stood out apart from the rest and thus she was such a pious women to be worshipped...and yes for this bold and outstanding act I salute her...In the world of Men, she stood out and how can you tell that she was stressed out...In the epic nowhere it is mentioned that she was stressed out to handle five men...Rather the loving wife of Krishna Satyabhama was in awe of Draupadi and had taken lessons how she in such an ease handled five men and they had no complains from her...

Just because she had five husbands does not make her a pity character...Before the dice game it was well mentioned in the epic that how she enjoyed been the most loving wife of the Pandavas and ofcourse she enjoyed being an empress...

She was a strong woman in her times...

Ok people tell that her husbands married other wives too...well that was norms in those days due to making stong alliances with kingdom, kshatriyas used to marry more than one woman...But can you all see in this way that how much they respected Draupadi that they didnot bring their wives to the kingdom...Even Arjun was tensed to introduce Subhadra to Draupadi...Subhadra had to impress Draupadi to enter the palace...Had it been other woman they wouldnt have cared about her and would have brought N number of wives in the kingdom, why to ask permission for? This was the position of Draupadi...She had that fire within her...

Trust me friends I feel really bad when people ask such questions that what a pity, how a woman felt to be married to five husbands...how she felt...how pathetic her life was due to having five husbands...etc etc etc...We never pity for any men nor we ask any question tat what a pity see how a man married so many wives...how he felt marrying them...how pathetic his life was due to having several wives...

Her life was pathetic during and after the dice game...It was not due to having five husbands...It was due to having spineless husband, who did not stand to protect his wife...Her life was pathetic because she had pathetic in laws, who did not cared for their daughter in laws pride...Her life was pathetic due to her wicked brother in law who never respected her...

Whenever we question her marriage we prove to be no less than Duryodhana and Karna...

@Bold I never said she was stressed to be wife of 5 men.I was talking about the Epic Mahabharat where you find lines like...'an every morning you take bath, till the end of your life you will live with virginity.' and Before she moved to the next husband, Draupadi walks through fire to regain her purity.'

My question is why a woman has to show her purity everytime!?On the other hand men had no such rules even though they were very much into multiple partner system.

Regarding Multiple marriages,it can't be sanctified in either case(men/women) because it was not part of our tradition or Vedic culture.You said kings had many wives to make strong alliances but please review our history you'll find many efficient,valouress kings with only one partner.

Ikshwaku,Raivatha,Dileepa,Raghu,Satyharischandra,Ambarisha,Bhagiratha,Shrutashrava,

Aja,Seeradhwaj Janaka(Sita's Father) his brother Kushadhwaj Janaka and all Janakas (Kings of Mithila),Khusa,Nala and many more from Solar Dynasty.

Nahusha,Jyamadh,Vidarbh,Dushyanth,Ugrasena,Bheeshmaka,Nanda,Balaram and many Lunar dynasty kings followed one man one wife policy.

Looks like almost 80-90% of the Kshatriyas followed this rule.Infact a ruler has to remain a role model to his subjects and the entire kingdom he rules.

I don't think to keep friendly relations with neighbour kings or to carry trade one needs to go for multiple marriages.Kings have many sons and brothers,Cousins etc.and many other relations within the royal family of a particular kingdom.All of them have the recognition of a prince hence there is no need to get the same man married many times inorder to make ties with Neighbouring Kingdoms.

I NEVER showed any pity for Draupadi.I just wanted to know her feelings and intention because neither Kunti nor the Pandavas bothered to ask her when they made such a big decision!
