What a crock! Drupada had at least 2 sons then - Satrajit & Vikra. The reason he did his yagna for Dhrishtadyumna later was that neither Satrajit nor Vikra were considered a match for Drona (something illustrated during the war, since Drona killed them both on day 12 while they were protecting Yudisthir from capture) And after he got Dhrishtadyumna & Draupadi, he had several more sons. Some were killed by Drona, and others by Ashwatthama. One son - Panchal - was killed by Karna, IIRC.

So they inserted a snide insult by Drona @ Drupada, which was not even factual to start w/. Great.

Incidentally, Dhrishtadyumna was never clearly the yuvraj of Panchala - it's not clear who exactly was.

Vrish- where is Vikra mentioned. Just went through the Sambhava parva- no mention of any Vikra. And is it Sat- ra- jit or Sat-ya- jit ?

The Sambhava parva mentions Satyajit leading the Panchala attack, but he is described as their general, or , in places as Drupada's brother.

Most ridiculous is Nakul talking to horses

when did he EVER assist Arjun by making his horse tell other horses to obey him and defy the enemy

and why would other horses obey the telepathic horse was he their prime minister

they didn't even know him , he was just a common horsey .😆

Yes, Panchala horses would be guilty of treachery.

Another point- in the original MB, Yudhishthira does not go into the battle - on Arjuna's request.

It was just Bhima Arjuna Nakula and Sahadeva. Bhima, as usual, led the assault and Arjuna followed him in his chariot. Arjuna had asked Nakula and Sahadeva to guard his chariot wheels. So they too didn't get to do much fighting.

Essentially the fighting was done by Bhima and Arjuna with Bhima providing the initial breakthrough by targeting the elephants with his mace. Arjuna, with his stupendous archery skills sealed the victory

Seriously I like Kaurava's battle scene better.. No mumbo jumbo magic.. Only skill and agility..
Only Yudishthir & Sahadev are ok with me!
Bheem? That ground pound earthquake is scientifically impossible.. Arjun? Again.. Real arrow pls! Even an astra need to be invoked into a real arrow! Nakul? Thats all he can do? Horse language.. No wonder he didnt get any major kill in Kurukshetra :(

Nakul killed 3 sons of Karna - Chitrasena, Susena & Satyasena - on day 18 of the war, while Yudisthir was fighting Kripacharya & Shalya

oh my god ... another horrible episode today!!! 🥱
what a disappointment this show has been!!! 😔
can't imagine to what extent they will down distorting the story? every episode is just filled with someone's over active imagination in name of "mahabharat"!!!

if they only wanted to show their own story, why can't they start a fantasy show, something like savitri on LOK!!! is it really necessary for them to show their fantasy filled fictional over imaginative story with the name of mahabharat and it's chracters??? 🤓

MB is one of the biggest epic and what the hell are they doing with it? 😭
highly irresponsible on part of star plus. 👎🏼
in a way they are just insulting this fifth veda!!!
god knows what is stopping them from making it close to original??? 😲
is this show just for testing the patience of viewers??? 😡
are they even considering any genuine feedback or are in their own la la land seeing some praises over costumes or sets???? 😳

(rant over.) 😳 😆

but enough is enough ... friends please start filling complains against this show on IBF/BCCC. http://www.ibfindia.com/node/2
hope they listen or atleast our complains will reach their deaf ears. 🤢

Ok, MB mentions him as Satyajit, but I recall reading Satrajit elsewhere. Satrajit & Vikra were both killed on day 11 or 12 by Drona. But yeah, reading Sambhava parva, no Vikra there.

Then the king of the Panchalas, accompanied by (the generalissimo of his forces) Satyajit, rushed with speed at Arjuna like the Asura Samvara rushing at the chief of the celestials (in days of yore). Then Arjuna covered the king of Panchala with a shower of arrows. Then there arose a frightful uproar among the Panchala host like unto the roar of a mighty lion springing at the leader of a herd of elephants. And beholding Arjuna rushing at the king of Panchala to seize him, Satyajit of great prowess rushed at him. And the two warriors, like unto Indra and the Asura Virochana's son (Vali), approaching each other for combat, began to grind each other's ranks. Then Arjuna with great force pierced Satyajit with ten keen shafts at which feat the spectators were all amazed. But Satyajit, without losing any time, assailed Arjuna with a hundred shafts. Then that mighty car-warrior, Arjuna, endued with remarkable lightness of motion, thus covered by that shower of arrows, rubbed his bow-string to increase the force and velocity of his shafts. Then cutting in twain his antagonist's bow, Arjuna rushed at the king of the Panchalas, but Satyajit, quickly taking up a tougher bow, pierced with his arrows Partha, his chariot, charioteer, and horses. Arjuna, thus assailed in battle by the Panchala warrior, forgave not his foe. Eager to slay him at once, he pierced with a number of arrows his antagonist's horses, flags, bow, clenched (left) fist, charioteer, and the attendant at his back. Then Satyajit, finding his bows repeatedly cut in twain and his horses slain, desisted from the fight.

I had read elsewhere that both of them were around, but weren't considered Drona's equal. Their deaths are mentioned in Drona parva

"Sanjaya continued, 'Then Drona, beholding Yudhishthira near him fearlessly received him with a thick shower of arrows. And there arose a loud noise among the troops of Yudhishthira's army like what is made by the elephants belonging to a herd when their leader is attacked by a mighty lion. Beholding Drona, the brave Satyajit, of prowess incapable of being baffled, rushed at the Preceptor who was desirous of seizing Yudhishthira. The Preceptor and the Panchala prince, both endued with great might, fought with each other, agitating each other's troops, like Indra and Vali. Then Satyajit, of prowess incapable of being baffled, invoking a mighty weapon, pierced Drona with keen-pointed arrows. And Satyajit shot at Drona's charioteer five arrows, fatal as snake-poison and each looking like Death himself. The charioteer, thus struck, became deprived of his senses. Then Satyajit quickly Pierced Drona's steeds with ten shafts; and filled with rage, he next pierced each of his Parshni drivers with ten shafts. And then he coursed at the head of his troops on his car in a circular motion. Excited with wrath, he cut off the standard of Drona, that crushers of foes Drona then, that chastiser of foes, beholding these feats of his foe in battle, mentally resolved to despatch him to the other world. 1 The Preceptor, cutting off Satyajit's bow with arrow fixed thereon, quickly pierced him with ten arrows capable of penetrating into the very vitals. Thereupon, the valiant Satyajit, quickly taking up another bow, struck Drona, O king, with thirty arrows winged with the feathers of the Kanka bird. Beholding Drona (thus) encountered in battle by Satyajit, the Pandayas, O king, shouted in joy and waved their garments. Then the mighty Vrika, O king, excited with great wrath, pierced Drona in the centre of the chest with sixty arrows. That feat seemed highly wonderful., Then that mighty car-warrior, viz., Drona, of great impetuosity, covered with the arrowy showers (of his foes) opened his eyes wide and mustered all his energy. Then cutting off the bows of both Satyajit and Vrika, Drona, with six shafts slew Vrika with his charioteer and steeds. Then Satyajit, taking up another bow that was tougher, pierced Drona with his steeds, his charioteer, and his standard. Thus afflicted in battle by the prince of the Panchalas, Drona could not brook that act. For the destruction then of his foe, he quickly shot his arrows (at him). Drona then covered with incessant showers of arrows his antagonist's steeds and standards as also the handle of his bow, and both his Parshnidrivers. But though his bows were (thus) repeatedly cut off, the prince of the Panchalas conversant with the highest weapons continued to battle with him of red steeds. Beholding Satyajit swell with energy in that dreadful combat, Drona cut off that illustrious warrior's head with a crescent-shaped arrow. 1 Upon the slaughter of that foremost of combatants, that mighty car-warrior among the Panchalas, Yudhishthira, from fear of Drona, fled away, (borne) by fleet steeds

They are changing Shikhandini's story now.

First of all, Drupada never had the courage to boast about Bhishma the way they showed him doing so. Bhishma's name was enough for him to quake with fear. He never dared to touch the garland which Amba placed on his palace gate. So everything shown here was utter crap.

Now I feel they will show Shikhandini going to the forest and attaining manhood due to the way she was insulted. But this never happened really. Shikhandini being a girl was a secret kept by Drupada. It was revealed only when she got married and the princess got to know her husband is actually a woman.
Then the princess's father attacked Panchal and Shikhandini went to end her life in shame. There a Yaksha exchanged his manhood with her and hence she became Shikhandi. Shikhandi had a son later.
