I was yet to meet anyone in person who genuinely and completely liked the look of the serial. Congratulations, you are the first one. And I am not being sarcastic at all. Just because you have a different opinion, does not mean I should disrespect. In fact, the topic is made for all round discussion. as long as we do not get offensive of anyone, all opinions are really welcome

😊

I don't think I necessarily represent the "now" generation just because I like the look of the serial, because the script bothers me much more than the technology. The script also is geared towards the "now" generation isn't it? For me, the technology is secondary compared to the script. If the script is good, then I will like the show even if the technology is OTT or not impressive enough. For me, the technology of this show is not what bothers me, but how they change some important facts and characterizations of the people. People learn from what they see on television, and if the CVs make an attempt to show the story at least 90% factual, then I could care less about the technology.

Incidentally, I am not the first one to like the grand look of this show, I assure you. 😆 Many of my friends watch it for the technology only, as they are not much impressed by the actors or script.

I agree with JanakiRaghunath ...if the technology impresses me , the script disappoints me often coz the basics r often changed .

For instance in the promos it shown Duryodhan against Arjun

while in reality

it always was Duryodhan against Bheem

Arjun against Karna

these 2 mighty brothers won the war for the Pandavas and their foes were determined by the epic and their fate .

I don't understand why Duryodhan is constantly shown talking about Arjun and telling he is frightened of him

Duryodhan was frightened of NONE . He was too convinced of his right and his beliefs that since the Pandavas were not of Kuru blood they had no right to make any claims . He was ultimately defeated but he never wavered in his stand till the last breath . Till the very end he believed in HIS stand . Right or wrong is for us to decide , many feel he was wrong , some today feel he had a point . But fact is , he was frightened of none , his hatred was his strength and he too died fighting and was killed with unfair means . He lamented about the unfairness and Balaram was so disgusted that he walked away from the fight . But Krishna told him that he was the last person who should talk about unfair means as he did it many many times himself . Very true . Krishna had an explanation for EVERYTHING . If they show Arjun against Duryodhan , Arjun against Karna , Arjun perhaps even against Shakuni i wonder about the script .

🤣 🤣 If they did just that I wouldn't be surprised, it certainly would be impressive to watch it not to mention funny oh so funny to watch Shakuni using bow and arrow with his single eye against Arjun as it is most of the time he watches things with single eye.🥱

For instance Shakuni plotting with Purochana to bring stone edifice on Arjun's head

Purochana came much later , why this contrived nonsense ?

And why would Ashwathama tell his father to keep quiet and support him in his wrong acts ?

Why would Drona tell him that friendship with Arjun would benefit him? Ashwathama would never dare to talk to his father , a great rishi in this sleazy way and Drona never interfered in his personal equations with Kauravas or Pandavas .

Ashwathama is shown oh so wrongly in this serial ...forget plotting to bring down stones on Arjun's head , he BROKE the Bheem Duryodhan mace fight which turned ugly .

But what have they shown ? Ashwathama constantly looking at Shakuni from the arena for signals . Even our great epic they don't spare , they HAVE to turn into an everyday soap .

Exactly! 👏 Compared to all these distortions, the technology is least on the list of complaints against this show. In fact, many people see it as one of the only positives.

The distortions against so many characters prevents me from enjoying this show as much as I could. 😔

Ashwathama and Duryodhan were never fast friends, he was with Duryodhan only becaus he was jealous of Arjun as his own father considered Arjun to be the best and had great affections for Arjun. So much so that becasue he wanted him to be the best Archer, he asked Eklavya his thumb as guru dakshina. Arjun was his favourite and he would and could never except any harm done to pandawas. He faught that war because Drona was indebted to Dhritrashtra. Many times he would try to make Dhritrashtra see some sense tried to stop him also. But whatever Dronacharya was he was not like what is being shown in this Mahabharat. 😆

I don't think Ashwathama and Shakuni were into goochi goochi goo against pandawas at least not as early as this 😕

One more point the way there was communication between father and son it looks more modern then some 3500 before. Dronacharya would hae thrashed Ashwathama for even thinking in these terms about his favorite Pandawas.

And Dronacharya knew very well if he has to take revenge against drupad then pandawas are much better bet.

Same here

i explain to my kids that this was NOT there in the original Mahabharat .

Coz they believe it like the gospel , such is the influence of TV .

They have readymade script ...just show it as it was . It has thrill , valour , personal stories , vendettas that interest , promises that seem debatable ...EVERYTHING to raise TRPs . People universally , not just in India ...love the Mahabharatha so much that they will seat the serial on their head . The epic is thrilling till the end .Jut go on showing exactly what is written . Don't make unbelievable , laughable distortions .

Today what has happened is this

technology has improved but script is wrong .

wIith improved techno effects if they had stuck to the original script the results would be outstanding .

He never plotted with Shakuni EVER . he was friend of BOTH but fought on Duryodhan's side in the war as he and his father owed their loyalty to the throne of Hastinapur . He DID get along well with Duryodhan but he was equally friendly to the Pandavas . He had great respect for his father . When he destroyed the Pandava dynasty by throwing the Brahma astra ultimately , he did it by plotting with Duryodhan , not Shakuni ...Ashwathama's equation was with Duryodhan bcoz of the Hastinapur throne .
