No, today only gray shaded characters are interesting. People only relate to gray shaded characters, so they like to create arguments to prove that the heros were not heros, and that they don't deserve to be worshipped or hailed. But we have to remember that in prehistoric epics, the heros became heros for a reason. There were certain ethics and moral codes which they followed back then, and are no longer followed now, but that doesn't make them "anti-heros" just because they're not acceptable in today's times.

Arjuna is not at all blameworthy in the whole Ekalavya case, so to put him down in order to hail Ekalavya is meaningless. No where in MB does it say that Ekalavya was better than Arjuna and that Arjuna was jealous. Ekalavya is simply described as being a good archer, that's all. We don't know whether he was a better archer than Arjuna or not, because his story ends after giving his thumb to Drona, but to make interpretations that do not exist is impractical.

Awesome Janaki👏

You always put things in a more clearer way, clear and concise. This is exactly what I wanted to say and I agree with every word you have written. 😃

Nice post.I like Eklavya's character.I think he was good at heart not like Doryodhun and his brothers. If Drona had question about his lack of character then I do not see much character in his own son who was selfish and can do anything for his personal benefit.
Drona's act was very cruel if he was such great person then he should know about Eklavya's intentions. He wanted to trained Arjun as the best archer and use them to get throne of Panchal for his son.
Second reason might be the cast.

Drona thought Eklavya cheated him so he demanded thumb of his right hand😊

Well this is new .. I haven't heard of this one... Thanks for this info..

No Drona never wanted the throne of Panchal. He just took half of the kingdom and forgave Drupad.

Drona's act of asking Eklavya's thumb as 'Guru Dakshina' cannot be justified as Eklavya was a devoted learner. Dronacharya did this as he could sense Eklavya being a threat to Hastinapur..moreove he had told Arjuna that latter would be world's best archer.

He said this to his son in the show that he wanted to see him on the throne of Panchaal may be he changed his mind later and forgave them.

Guys as I mentioned earlier This is my point of view that drona asked eklavya for his thumb for 2 reasons
1 He was not kshtriya n as a rule dhanurvidya was only given to the kshatriyas in hastinapur
2 Eklavya learnt this by overhearing his updesh n watching him teaching n according to drona this was unfair n eklavya cheated him so he didn't have a right on such kind of education
So I think that these 2 reasons made drona ask eklavya his thumb
Regarding Arjun - I would say this that there is always a competition in class schools n gurukul n as far as I know Arjun respected Both eklavya n Karan as Competitors (I am talking about the 1st meet)n he praised when he saw eklavya doing beautiful archery. He never underestimated them as competitors till end n he was not even insecure but a thought that when a person can learn just from an idol of my guru then why I cant learn that good when my guru himself is teaching me. So from My point of view it was plain competition not jealousy or insecurity
Regarding drona - He cannot discriminate between his shishyas otherwise he will not be worthful as guru so I think making arjun worlds best dhanurdhar was not his aim n he did not ask aklavys thumb just beacause of this he loved each n every shisya of his n respected the feeling n devotion of eklavya completely. He was brahmin n teaching was his profession 😊
Sorry no offence guys but as far as I know mahabharat I have shared my thoughts this my point of view as I saw posts related to these things 😊

i has read abt eklavya's tale in a random buk..i always thought dat drona out of selfishness to keep his words to arjun ( dat he'll make him d greatest archer in d world) he demanded eklavya's thumb who had d potential to rise to a higher level dan arjun which irked dron an he demanded his right hand's thumb so dat he would nvr remain able to use a bow again. n i maliced drona for this action of his...bt den u mentioned a point dat eklavya learnt archery again n fought for kauravas..does dat mean dat drona's words to arjun were nt kept..??
