ok , what youre asking is difficult to comply to because everything is always going to be comparative for most users in this thread who are displeased with the new serial and naturally point out the level of differences that distance the two, but i will carry my views to the distortion thread and focus on sole praise for this classic here only.

I have been watching lots of monumental epis of the BRC MB...and i cant wait to see them enfold in Star Bharath...while the old MB is an epic which can never be replicated but i wld be honest I ama ctually liking the new one too, specially Arjun in the new MB has won my heart, but no one can equal Bhishm, Kanha and Karna of the old MB, they were all so epic that my head bows down to them out of respect,

For that matter even Duryodhan, he was just spectacular
I really loved how they have not shown Duri to be all evil, instead they have actually shown that his heart too knew love, I loved how they showed that he genuinely loved his Radhey In the new one time and time again its depicted that Duri is only using Karna but in the old MB it ws made crystal clear that Duri loved Karna, that really moved me, his genuine heart ache and sense of loss and loneliness on Karna's death was so damn moving...and the honorable way in which he died...it all really compels u to sit and feel bad for Duri and for a second forget all that he has done and just respect him...u know?...I mean I was fueling with blood and hatred when I saw Abhimanyu Vadh but after that the Pandavs did so many, many chal that by the time it was Duri's turn to die, I just couldn't hold Abhimanyu's death against him and my heart did pinch a lilttle when he died...and this is all thanks to the actor who played him and the writers who wrote him, I feel that in the new MB they have deliberately made Duri all black and evil and incapable of any form of love, which BRC MB totally disproved...

And what has happened to Gandhari in Star bharath, how come she too is portrayed to be almost as selfish as Dhrit?...Look at the BRC gandhari, in the face of it all she never once became selfish or blindsided with putra moh...she was such a pillar...

But when it comes to Pandavs and Paanchali I like the new version more...I love that their emotions and inner chaos and turmoils r so strongly reflected upon...I am in absolute love with Paarth Paanchali...I just hope that the writers do justice to the most imp part of this great epic which has withstood the turn of time...!!

I agree that comparisons are inevitable. I am on a break right now and honestly admit that i haven't gone through the previous pages to understand what has warranted the note from the DTs. As the topic maker, it is my humble request to avoid comparison to the maximum possible extent and even if you have to, please refrain from using abusive or derogatory language against the current show and its cast and crew. Once again, i am not saying, it is being used, i am only requesting everyone not to.
Thanks everyone.

Actually Gandhari is actually portrayed better in the new one because she is shown to be impartial to her sons but yes
if you want to praise the new one dont bring in the star plus actors into here thank you.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. I was planning to watch this new MB but after reading your comments, I think I will stick to my memories. I have watched the re-telecast of BRC's version and loved how no one was black or white. I will stick to that version. Off to watch the episodes on YT

I have watched the previous BRC Mahabharat version twice and have immense love and respect for it. However that being said, I don't mind the new "starbharat." Yes there are distortions and some of the storylines are completely messed up but they have at least tried to stick true to the essence of Mahabharat. Its the story of Mankind and our various attributes- the good, the evil, happiness, sadness, love, duty, honor..Its a story of a lifetime and I don't think the new Mahabharat has distorted that theme that much. Yes, its more glamorized and some characters are just too mute and hell, some cannot act too well either. However, the main characters are convincing for the most part.

Another thing that I must praise about Starbharat is that we have some sort of back story to many charachters especially Karna. Yes he was the tragic anti-hero whose biggest battle was with himself but he was a husband, a son, and they will maybe show him as a father too. His role in the Mahabharat is based on his friendship, but I liked seeing a background. And also, I do feel that Nakul and Sahadev have more of a speaking role here then they had with the BRC epic.

Don't get me wrong, nothing can beat the soul stirring performances or show that BRC brought together. However, comparatively with the fickle mind of the 2014 audiences, starbharat is not doing a bad job. In fact, they are pretty decent and I think some credit is due there. Anyhow that's just my two cents.
