we all loved old BRC mahabharat...so just to keep this thread alive.may i suggest we do something fun?

Lets start with this game...each one shares a dialogue from old mahabharat.. I start

I like the dialogue of bheeshm when he says.."Haan maine hastinapur ke singhasan ke prati nishatvaan rehne ki pratigya le thi.. or uss singhasan par baithne vale raja main apni pitah ki chavi dekhne ka nischay kiya tha ...lekin mujhe kya maalum tha isi singhasan par dhritarashtra baitega."

My all time favorite was Shakuni's "Mere Priya Bhaanje".. with the right kind of intonation and evilness in the accent, BR's shakuni was a class act. He never overdid his expressions. He was evil because of his actions and not because of his expressions.. A great take on one of the most complex characters.. The voice and the way Shakuni held himself was perfect in BR's Mahabharat..

If there is one thing that BR scored the best, it was the way he had his actors selected. One sees the characters in the actors who played them. Unlike today, at that particular time, the names of these actors were not well known. They were loved because of the character they played and the way they played it. ⭐️

yes i agree the selection of actors was brilliant...it was made by BR chopra and they were also planning to rope in famous bollywood stars of the time like jitendra etc but then they decided to audition new actors as the famous stars would not make the characters come to l;ife rather they will just add glamour to the show...


do you know that actress kitu gidwani of swambhimaan fame also auditioned for the role of ganga..

anyways yes paintal's shakuni was really superb...

Bheeshma aka Mukesh Khanna is my favourite in BR C's Mahabharat. He's the reason I could connect to Bheeshma and feel his sorrows. I like Arav too.

Hey all , I am searching the episode that contains Duryodhan's birth in the old MB. But its pretty confusing, I could only find pandava's birth and then episodes focus shifted on Krishna. Plz does anyone know which episode no. it is?
