Yes his birth part isn't shown in detail. They skipped it.

Today morn I watched bits of episode no. 69 of Mahabharat. The most emotional segment, Bheeshma Vadh. The background song made the scene even more effective. Couldn't control my tears watching that particular scene. Hats off to all the people associated, specially Mukesh Khanna!

also the songs of the old mahabharat were amazing...there is one of my favourite one - Sabso Oochi Prem Sagaai, Duryodhan ke Mevaa Tyaage, Saag Vidur Sang Khayi...

The above was when shri krishna visits hastinapur as a peace ambasaddor and duryodhan invites him to stay and have dinner at his palace but krishna declines sayign he will stay at vidur's home..
I keep watching this song on you tube all the time and wish that one day krishna will come at my home to eat as well...😳

All the songs containing Bhishma's name are my favourites :D
Specially this one -

Maa ganga aashish de, aa kar sut ke paas
Aaj gira ho bhoomi par jyun koi aakash, jyun koi aakash.

And the one after the above -

Aaj dharashaayi hue kurukul ke sartaj
Unko abhinandan kare saara veer samaaj, saara veer samaaj...

This is a long one, and very touching 😊

I can imagine... I dnt think anyone othr thn nitish bharadwaj can perfectly play the role of krishna...saurabh is gud bt he doesnt hav tht I-know-it-all amusing expression... my fav. actors wer who played these characters- bheeshm, karan arjun, krishna the best, duryodhan, shakuni n draupadi...

yes the reason why these actors are remembersed as the characters they played because one...most of them were well trained theatre actors who knew what they need to do in order to get into the skin of the characters they played...for example...nitesh bharadwaj read a lot about krishna via the bhagwad geeta and also dyneshwari... same goes to puneet issar (duryodhan) he had done a thorough research about duryodhan in order to understand his character..

secondly they were not much in the media or known to public..so people recognised them only by the characters they played..

BR chopra had stars like jitendra etc in mind to star in mahabharat but he decided to get unknown actors for the roels becvause he did not want the known star to stand out but the character to stand out..

i also like the late virendra razdan who played vidur..

even the actress nazneen who played kunti i like her beacsue even though she being non hindu was perfect in delivering her pure hindi and sometimes sanskrit dialogues.. same goes for actor who played arjun..

I liked SRJ as vishnu in dKDM but somehow i feel he is not delivering the krishna character confidently..he needs to improve his facial expressions and also his body language, especially the way he walks in some scenes, it does not look natural..

Besides I would always say that the older mahabhart was NOt a daily soap..but a weekly series.. so the actors were not stressed out with their shooting schedule...they must have had time to relax and unwind...unlike the current daily soap actors who only breath the air inside the studios...

Agreed. Nitish Bhardwaj was simply the best man chosen to play Krishna.

Mukesh Khanna as Bheeshma is my all time favourite. And I liked Puneet Issar as Duryodhan too. Each and every actor was perfect. Karna's name was Pankaj Dheer and Draupadi was Roopa Ganguly.

Also I remember the dice scene in old MB..where they were using repeatedly the same music and duryodhan telling to shakuni..mamashree ab mujhe pau bara ki aavashakta hai...n shakuni saying yeh le bhanje pao baara 😆
