Part 2
Few minutes passed, Deepali emerged from her room to find an immobile Madhu. She got her out of her trance only by shaking her like a maniac.
"Eww! I touched you! Where were you lost. Where is Rishab? Leave it! Prepare lunch, I will be back in 10 mins." she yelled and left to her room.
Madhu swallowed all her emotions down her heart and continued her work.
Deepali came back after taking a quick shower. She tried to contact Rishab but he didn't pick up her call.
Next day when Deepali was having her lunch she received a SMS from Rishab stating:
"I'm in hostel.
Will meet you on Monday."
After reading it, she was a little more frustrated than before as she had contacted him through all ways. "What does he think of himself? Am I a money machine? I need to talk to him." muttering all this she left her food half-finished.
Madhu knew partially the reason behind all this but she can't express it.
Days passed and Deepali tried a lot of tricks to get to Rishab but nothing worked.
Like she tried to slip expecting him to catch her but instead got a new friend, splint.
After she got well, she acted as sleeping and falling over his shoulder while they were watching TV, he made her lay on the couch and shifted to the other one.
Once she accidentally spoiled his dress to get to touch him while cleaning it, he just left her there and ran into the bathroom closing the door on her face.
The same day she tried to ask for towel from bathroom when he was in hall reading a book, instead of going himself, he sent Madhu pouring ice water on the fire castle that Deepali has constructed.
Even she started to wear more revealing dresses which attracted those guys whom she will not even give a glimpse but not Rishab.
More and more tricks were sketched and nothing worked.
On the other side, Madhu tried to be distant to Rishab but she now knows that he will not do anything that will hurt her. May be sometimes he will tease her but never hurt her. He stands by his word.
Whenever possible which means when Deepali is not there, he tries to help in kitchen by cutting vegetables, cleaning utensils, ...
He tries to touch without her to jerk away from him and think like it happened unintentionally but the distance she keeps between them makes it impossible.
However, he got lucky twice.
Once, oil was on the floor without noticing it, Rishab slipped and landed on Madhu, then they both landed together on the floor with Madhu under Rishab and his lips pressed against her forehead. They got up immediately but he got lucky to hold her for few seconds in his arms.
The other one was when Madhu was cooking and Rishab cutting vegetable, he got something in his eyes. He tried several times to be calm and composed to not irritate himself and rub his eyes but that didn't get him to anywhere.
He asked Madhu to help him, the nice soul she is, she helped him blowing air. With the irritation he got, he griped her shoulder. She finished her work properly and went back to cooking while he was standing like a statue until he was jerked out by Deepali.
The more she distanced from him, the more he is attracted to her.
Whereas Madhu was Madhu. Doing her work.
The only difference is nowadays she feels a zoo running in her stomach when she feels Rishab watching her or trying to get close to her.
With all the dominance of Deepali over Madhu and little over Rishab, she got to have a soft corner for this person.
She doesn't know what is the relationship between Rishab and Deepali.
She doesn't know what is Rishab thinking about her.
She doesn't know what is happening to her.
Like that 3 months passed.
Only few more days and the girls will go back to Malikl's house and Rishab back to his normal life.
Rishab is getting out of the college canteen when he hears few guys near the parking area teasing someone.
"So Baby! How about we go the movie together?"
"No yaar I would like to take her to the beach?"
"She is going to come with me to my farmhouse. Am I right dear?"
Rishab hears a lot more than this until he sees the bent face of the girl who is surrounded by 3 boys of his class.
"Hey buddies! Thanks for taking care of my girl." he said approaching the gang. "Madhu! Come let's go, I finished my work." taking her hand.
- These bas***ds! They made the Beauty to shed tears. I would have punched them if we are not in our campus. -
Hearing a familiar voice and touch, she lifted her head with small smile in the corner of her lips, stopping the tears from flowing down.
"How do know her?"
"Where are you taking her?"
"Calm down guys! Let me introduce her." putting his hand around her shoulder "She is Madhu. Your Would-Be-SIL. Am I right darling?" winking at Madhu for the last line.
She nodded.
All she wanted at that moment is to escape from them.
- At least for this drama she is my future wife. -
"Congrats bro!"
"Never told us!"
"We thought Deepali and you were a thing!"
At the mention of Deepali, Madhu shoot her head up to face the gang.
- What is the meaning of her reaction? -
"She is my friend and nothing else buddies. And by the way, I will invite whole college for our marriage. Have to go now! Catch you later."
"Yeah!"
"Take care!"
"Sorry SIL!"
Turning away from the group, Rishab smirked shaking his head and headed towards his bike still holding her by her shoulder.
"I need to go!" Madhu said trying to gain a few millimeters distance between them.
"How can I leave my Would-Be-Wife alone in my college?" leaving her shoulder, he immediately hold her hand tightly.
- She feels so soft and fragile. -
"I... I'm not!"
"Get on!" once he was on his bike with her left hand in his left.
She shook her head.
"If you don't, I will tell Deepali you are roaming in streets, enjoying while she thinks you are in temple praying."
- This is the only way I can make her go with me. -
"Nooo"
"Then come!"
She sits behind him with her both legs on one side, taking the help of the bar.
"Sit properly. You will fall if you sit like that."
"HmmHmmm"
"You are not wearing a half-saree or a saree, so do it."
"No" she whispers.
"No problem! Get down and stay here. I'm going to the apartment; I will speak to Deepali."
"I will."
She gets down and sits with her legs on either side of the bike.
- I think luck is in my side today. -
"Hold me! You may fall!"
"I... I'm holding the b... bar." holding tightly the bar behind her.
"Let's see for how long."
She bent her head.
They started their journey towards home when suddenly:
"Please! Go... Slow!"
"No I will not! Hold me by my waist and I will."
"No"
"Then No too."
- Let's see how long it continues Beauty. -
"Oh My God!"
"What happened?"
"Why did you apply sudden break?"
"What's the problem in it Honey? The signal turned to red, so I stopped."
"And I kissed." she muttered thinking she is talking in her head but no, she said it a little louder.
"You have the rights to kiss me Honey! It's just one place."
As he was on high speed, when the light turned to red he stopped his bike abruptly which made her hold his shoulder and her lips pressed against his back.
- I'm getting lucky minutes by minutes. -
He adjusted the mirror to see her face clearly and continued:
"There are lot more places where you can caress your soft lips over them."
"Shut up!" turning crimson
"What? I'm just telling the"
"Kill you!" without letting him finish.
"I'm waiting to die in your lap Honey once our great grandchildren's marriage happens."
"GOD!" she palmed her forehead, closing her eyes but one hand was still glued to his shoulder.
- It feels so good to speak to her like this. -
The light turned green and there is still 10 minutes to reach the apartment.
"Why were you in the college?"
She didn't answer.
"I asked you something."
Still nothing.
"Why do you want me to threaten you using Deepali's name?"
"Don't say anything to her."
"Then tell me."
"I...I came to pa...pass my fin...final year exam."
"In our college?"
"Hmmm"
"When did you come to classes?"
"Corr... Correspondence!"
"Ohhh! Which course?"
"MA"
- Not bad Beauty! Same course! Will be working together for our company in future! -
"Why hiding it from Deepali?"
"She don't know."
"That's what I'm asking."
She keeps quiet.
"Forget it!" he said.
- One day or the other, I will know everything about you Beauty. -
Finally, the ride came to its end.
"I'm not going to see you after few days. Can we be at least friends for the time being?" he asked her when she got off the bike.
"Friends?"
"Yeah!" nodding.
- I want to see her for my life time but for that we should have had a good start but no. So hope she accepts to be my friend. -
She shook her head.
"Am I not even capable of being your friend? I'm sorry for what I did before. I want to have a happy memory of us together before I go from here."
She shook her head.
"Please! I'm sorry." he got down from his bike.
They made their way to the apartment.
She went directly to the kitchen once she freshened up. On her way, she saw Rishab speaking on telephone with Deepali.
After few minutes, she came towards Rishab with 2 cups in her hand.
"Friend!"
"Me?"
"Hmmm" she nodded.
"Thank you!" with a big smile, he took a cup from her and waited for a hand shake with her and she accepted it with a simple smile.
- This day is for sure my lucky day. She accepted my friendship. Yahooo! -
"Did Deepali said anything about dinner?"
"Sorry forgot to tell you!"
- When you are near me, I tend to forget the world. -
******* PHONE CONVERSATION *******
"Hello Deepali!"
"Hey! Sorry to say now that I will not be in my apartment tonight. I'm going to a girlz party at Sonia's house after shopping. You have to stay in your apartment."
- Yep! I have my free time with my Beauty without that Torture. -
"No problem! I'm already here. I don't think of going back for 40 minutes of ride, back to hostel. Do you have any problem if I stay here?"
"No yaar! You can! No need to ask! Ask Madhu to do the dinner you wish!"
"I will take care of it."
"Ok! So see you tomorrow!"
"Yep!"
******* NOW *******
"Oh! So what do you want for dinner?" finishing her coffee.
"Pizza is on the way! Sit!"
- No extra work for my Beauty today. If she comes with me, it will be forever. -
"Pizza?" sitting opposite to him.
"Yeah! A pizza party between 2 new friends! Isn't it interesting?"
She lifted her shoulders and made a face saying 'May be'.
"Do you want me to cancel it?" taking her cup and making his way to kitchen to clean them.
"No! It's ok!"
"Are you sure? If you want, we can cook something simple."
She just smiled.
"Hey! Why don't we play something until?"
"Play?" shocked to know that he wanted to play.
"Yeah! Like 'HangMan','Dictionary' or '20 Questions?'. I think '20 Questions?' will be the best as we will come to know about each other as friends."
- It will help me know about her and her about me. -
"Noo Noo Noo" shaking her head.
"Why? Are you afraid of telling truth?"
"Not like that but"
"Hey! Cool down! We will only simple questions! Nothing serious!"
"Hmmm" she nodded.
- May be one question will lead to another one. Let's see. -
"Ladies first! And ahaan only truth! So Shoot!"
"Shoot!"
"Ask your questions Madhu." Smiling at her.
"Oh! What is your favorite colour?"
"You wasted one question Honey!" she made a face "Calm down. It's Black!"
"I knew it was that."
"Hmmm! I didn't think it was this obvious but you see you wasted one question! Any ways my turn! I'm not going to ask your favorite colour as I know it's yellow."
"How do you know that?"
"There is always something yellow on you!"
- Like a sunflower! -
She smiles.
"Coming to my first question: Since when you are at Malik uncle house?"
"Sinnnce 8 years!"
- How can it be possible? I have been there since my parents fixed my Bro's marriage. I have never seen her. -
"8 yeeaarrs! I have been there but I have never seen you?"
"My turn!"
"No problem! I have still 9 questions!" grinning.
