"Damn!", I threw my phone on the bed disgusted at myself for having spoken to my wife like that. My head rushed with blood as anger succumbed me. "Get out of my room!", I yelled at the silhouette standing near the window. "As you wish, RK!", he smirked and turned to me. "Sahil Roy! Just get out of my room", I exasperated. "RK! Don't you want to know how the hell I am standing here in front of you?", he smiled. "I don't want to know, Sahil. Did I mention LEAVE?", I emphasised. "RK! C'mon buddy! It was a business tactic. C'mon you're better than this. WE are better than this!", he extended his hands. "There's no WE Sahil.", I taunted. "Aww. RK! I just asked you what have you been doing these all years! Don't I deserve a better answer?", he asked me. I groped for my phone. "Calling Will?", he said. "Your security is away darling. I just wanna talk!", he said. "WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK?", I crossed my hands. "This and that! I have a lot to catch up. Starting with you. Where have you been?", he asked. "Why should I tell you?".

"YOU TELL ME. How the hell did you get outta prison?"

"You see, RK. Business rivalries don't make good criminal cases and bails...are liking putting knife through butter. So yeah!"

"Are you done! Can you leave?"

"I am curious RK. Who was that? On the phone? You yelled at?"

"Why are you here!"

"To pay you a visit. Heard you were here and thought I'd say hello!"

"That's it?"

"YES RK. That is it. That deal is done with. Everything is amicable now RK. It was all in business. Nothing personal."

"I am glad, Sahil. Now CAN YOU LEAVE."

"Sure! Now that I am done with what I had to say, good to see you RK. It would have hurt me if I saw you all wretched or otherwise! You look good. Better than last time I saw you on Television", he winked and left. I wanted to yell at him but I decided that no. I had already damaged my wife's mood and emotions and I could not spare any moment here I Toronto. I needed to speak to her, see her and be with her.

"Where were you Will?", I yelled as he entered.

"Sir, I thought you must be resting. So I went down at the bar."

I took a deep breath and controlled my anger. "We are leaving, Will. Get the arrangements done. An hour, that is all you have."

"Alright Sir. I'll ping you once we're good to go!", he nodded and left.

I looked at my phone and Madhu's caller ID pic. "I am really sorry. You don't deserve this. Any of this. I am sorry. I am coming, just stay safe. Don't do anything reckless!", I closed my eyes and gulped the lump in my throat.

"Sir, we're good to go.", Will knocked at the door. I asked him to come in and take my things. We reached the airport and boarded our jet. "Shall we make a move, Sir?", he asked.

"Yes, Will. Make it as soon as possible please."

At the airport, Maa was there to see me. I smiled at her and took her blessings as we neared. She was all teary to see me. I rolled my eyes. "Why are you crying.", I told her holding shoulders with my arm. "Rishu, its good to see you!", she smiled glistening her eyes. "Missed you too, Maa!", I told her as we sat in the car.

"Did Madhu call you today?", I asked her starting the engine of the car.

"No, Rishu! We talked yesterday."

"Was she ok?"

"Yes. She sounded fine. Didn't you two talk?"

"Umm...Maa. I was busy with a seminar and we couldn't talk yesterday."

"This is not done Rishu. Your wife deserves your time."

"I know Mom. I will make it up to her. I promise. But first, I'll drop you home."

"Let me join you?", she asked.

"No Maa. You probably should rest. I'll come back home."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Maa!"

After leaving Maa at home, I turned towards Madhu's. Stacy was already inside and she opened the door for me. "Hello Sir!", she said. "Should I leave?", she asked.

"That would be nice of you Stacy. Id like to do this alone."

"Sure Sir."

"Wait! Stacy, is Madhu ok?", I turned and asked her as she was leaving.

"In what sense, Sir?"

"Was she normal?", I asked.

"You could say that Sir. But she had a terrible headache in the morning and her voice was not even recognisable. Apart from that, everything looks ok, Sir."

"When is she coming back?"

"She might get late, Sir. She's out for a conference."

"I see. Thank you Stacy. You can leave now."

"Ok, Sir.", I closed the door as she left and looked around. She must have drunk and had hangover. "This is all because of me!", I murmured as I groped for water heater. Putting a jug on the heater, I waited for it to turn lukewarm.

"Madhu! Where are you!", I sat on the couch thinking. Resting my head on the couch, I closed my eyes.

"You'll be ok!", she whispered in my ears. I felt my body in contact with the ice-slab turning numb. "You're going to get through this.", she caressed my hairs. My eyes were flushed with blood. My back pinched to me like thorns. "You've done nothing. I trust you.", she whispered. I turned and looked into her eyes. Brown, almond shaped eyes looked at me with love. "Madhu", I murmured looking at her face emerging from the darkness. "Its ok!", she smiled to me. "Madhu!", I repeated. "Shhh. Close your eyes. I am going to get you through this. Trust me.", she whispered. "Can I?", I asked her. "It is for you to decide.", she smiled and clutched my hands. I closed my eyes. The pain disappeared. I could feel warm blankets below me. I opened my eyes again and found myself on the couch in her apartment. I blinked a few times. "Madhu!", I gasped looking around. There was no one in the house. I rubbed my temple. I felt calm. This dream didn't hyperventilate me. It brought me peace.

"RK! Hold on!", she cried to me. I looked around. We were in the court. I could feel Madhu sitting in the court and blurred images of Anjali, Rihan, the lawyers and judges. Only her image was clear. She was smiling to me asking me to hold on. I felt myself losing my edge. I wanted to shout and yell. "It will be ok!", she kept telling me. "Its going to be fine!", she said. "NO! It won't.", I yelled back at her. I saw her smile vanish away. Tears glistened in her eyes as her image for blurred and then she disappeared into thin air. "You promised to stay!", I broke down. "Ask yourself, RK. Do you want me to stay?", a whisper tickled my ears.

I opened my eyes and realized that I had been dreaming again. I heard a car in the driveway. I peered through the window and saw Madhu and Maria talking in Maria's car. She looked fine, but that is what I could guess from afar. My heart started pounding as I waited for her to come up. I wanted to see her and say sorry. Everything I cared right now, was for her to be happy again.

Nice update...feeling sry fr rk... I hope this confrontation brings them much closer... And also hope that rk could really understand wat his feelings towards madhu and tell her the same... Madhu would be shocked to see him there!!!! Really liked the way rk repented for yelling at his WIFE!!!! U said ull update 2morrow... Eagerly waiting for the update!!!
