Part 4(Madhu's POV)
I whispered something to Sultan.
"Is he looking?"
"Of course he is."
"Why isn't he doing anything yet? He should be upset on seeing the ring."
"Because he doesn't realize that he loves you. I think he's a little slow."
"So our plan failed?! Why did I listen to you Sultan?"
"Just wait. He hasn't reacted yet."
(RK's POV)
I watched them talk to each other like any other couple I see everyday. My hands balled up into fists. She doesn't love me...she never loved me...
I turned and headed towards my car. Never to see the girl named Madhubala again.
(Madhu's POV)
"Sultan! He left!" I tried to catch him, but in vain.
"Don't worry Madhu. He will realize that he loves you and he will come back."
He took the ring off of my finger.
"So much for the duplicate. It took me forever to find another ring of the same design." He stuffed it in his coat pocket. "He probably went home. Let's go."
Sultan grabbed my wrist and put me in the car. We sped off towards RK's house. We stood at his front door and I banged my fist at the door.
"RK! Please open the door!" I yelled. He opened it after 15 minutes of knocking. I resumed my acting.
"RK, why did you leave all of a sudden?" I asked. He looked at me in pain.
"Sorry Madhu...I suddenly remembered some work..." He looked down at his shoes.
"But..."
"I have to go Madhu..." He said, closing the door in front of me.
I stood there in silence. Why is he hiding his feelings from me? I turned to Sultan.
"What will happen now?" I asked.
"He'll figure it out someday. Mark my words, he will confess. I have another idea."
"This better work Sultan." I said.
(RK's POV)
I sat on my couch watching a movie, all alone. I was so dumb. Does she even know my feelings for her? I never let her know. But now she has Sultan. He would take care of her well. They knew each other since they were kids. She would be happy.
"Forget her RK...she was never meant to be yours."
(Madhu's POV)
"Trishna...get over here right now!" I yelled into my phone.
"Madhu...I'm tired. I don't want to..." She moaned.
"I'll drag you by your hair if you don't come right now!" I yelled at her.
"Ughhh...fine.." She hung up.
"Sultan...is RK coming?"
"I did convince him...he'll be here in 10 minutes." He glanced around. "Is Trishna coming?"
"Yeah. I hope this plan works." I said. "I want to hear "I love you from his mouth."
"It will." He assured me. Trishna showed up as well. She was panting out loud, her hands on her knees.
"You didn't have to run you know..." I said.
"Whatever." She shrugged.
I then saw RK's car pull up in front of the park we were in.
"Madhu go hide!" Sultan ushered.
"Time to put my acting skills to the test." Trishna cracked her knuckles.
I hid behind a tree. I didn't know if I was hidden or not. Fingers crossed.
(RK's POV)
I saw Sultan standing in front of a large oak tree. He looked like he was waiting for someone. Suddenly a girl came up to him. Her back was turned so I couldn't see her face. But I knew it wasn't Madhu. Her hair was shorter and she was thinner. She reached up and gave Sultan a large smooch on the lips. Sultan hugged her and kissed her back. My hand tighten on the steering until my knuckles were white. I have to tell Madhu. I took out my phone and recorded the twosome. Now I had proof. She had to believe me.
"I guess God wants us to be together." I whispered.
I started the car and drove off towards Madhu's home. The excitement of getting her back was the only thing I could think of. I sped through the streets.
The tire of the car in front blew out, however. It skidded to the side and hit the front of my car. My head slammed against the wheel and swung back. My eyes filled with darkness, until I was unknown to the world around me.
(Madhu's POV)
I paced back and forth in the living room, slamming my phone against my palm. Where was RK? He should have been here by now. I grew tensed and finally called Sultan.
"Hello Sultan?! Do you know where RK is?"
He didn't say anything. I heard shouting in the background. I grew tensed.
"Sultan!!" I yelled.
"Madhu...RK...he's..." His voice was shaky.
"He's what Sultan?!"
"He's in the hospital...major car accident near Wall Street. Critical." He said gloomily.
The phone dropped from my now trembling hand. I grabbed whatever was in reach and ran outside. I got in my car and went off towards the city. Sultan messaged me the address. I drove as fast as I could.
(At the hospital..)
I rushed to the reception and asked for RK's room. Room 623. I searched frantically through the hallways, trying to find it, bumping into multiple people along the way. I finally found Sultan waiting at the end of the wing.
"Sultan where's RK? He is okay...right Sultan?!" I shook his shoulders.
"The doctor is saying he is critical. The chances of going into a coma are high." He said quietly.
I pushed him aside and looked into the small circular window, into his room. There was large bandaging on his head, the blood was visible through it. Tears steamed down my cheeks. I wanted to go to him and tell him how much I loved him. I wanted him to be okay.
Night fell quickly, the doctors keeping him under observation. They said if he doesn't wake up by morning, he could fall into a coma. My eyes became dry from all the crying. Sultan let me sleep on his shoulder. But sleep never came to me. I wanted to see RK.
Morning came sooner than I expected. The doctor went inside to check him. I waited impatiently outside. The silence engulfed us all. Was he okay? I tried to get in, but the nurses stopped me.
"Please wait outside miss."
"Is he okay?" I cried. The doctor came out shortly.
"I'm very sorry...the patient has slipped into a coma. We tried our best. Now only time will tell." He left with the two nurses.
I fell to my knees. My whole world was shattered into millions of pieces. Sultan tried to bring me back but I was lost. Lost in the wave of emotion and sorrow. Tears flowed down my pale face like waterfalls. Sultan picked me up and hugged me tight.
"It will all be okay Madhu. Just have faith."
I didn't say a word. I broke away from his embrace and entered the ward. I sat down next to RK and ran my fingers through his hair. I couldn't see him like this.
"RK...stop playing games with me. I know you can hear me." I said. The denial was setting in.
He didn't respond.
"You know RK...I fell in love with you after our first meeting. I always have loved you. Why did you leave me then?" My tears soaked the covers.
He still didn't move...like the silly guy he was.
"Did you hear me RK?! I said I love you!" I yelled in his face. I got up and ran out of the room. Sultan followed me out.
