Hope you enjoy this journey of RishBala
Note
One thing I don't do with any of my stories is rush, I don't do rush nor do I like being rushed into making the main characters falling in love.
RishBala won't be falling in love so easily, especially with the pasts they've got. Out of the 30 stories I've written none of my stories don't have any of the main characters falling in love quickly, it's either one sided which slowly is reciprocated or both falling in love, but not once had I rushed, I simply don't like rushing in quickly.
I like to build their relationship up and make them fall in love gradually so their relationship is strong and there is trust...
Chapter 9 - Inner self
Last night was the worst night's sleep for me, I couldn't even call it sleep because I hadn't even slept at all. I couldn't, I tossed and turned but failed to close my eyes. Rishabh's words came ringing back into my mind. I shook my head reminding myself all the reasons why this was wrong. I didn't care what he said, I was going to deny this attraction for him and I could do it. If I could ignore men throughout my life then why can't I ignore him? Why was it proving so difficult? Why have I let him get under my skin?
Rishabh was someone who I could lose my heart to but never get it back, I would be left broken and shattered, I couldn't have that, I wouldn't be able to pick the pieces again, I picked them up once and glued them back yet the cracks are still there, I can't go through with this, I won't give in to him, I won't give into these feelings no matter how much I suffer, I will deny this.
I heard the door open and slam shut, I walked out of my room to catch Tyler kissing the face of blondie and her legs wrapped around his waist. I turned away. That wasn't a sight I needed because it only reminded me of Rishabh last night. I wanted to go out and blast Tyler for coming back in the morning, he knew I'd be worried yet he didn't call me, I looked at the time and noted it was 6 in the morning since I couldn't sleep any longer I freshened up and prepared breakfast.
Rishabh
"Bro how long will you avoid him?" Annie stepped before me as I tried to make my way heading for the door.
"Just leave me alone" I stepped aside and walked ahead.
"Look at him" Annie shouted I could only roll my eyes at her; I picked at an apple and headed for the door.
"Bro dammit he wants you, he misses you" she yelled gripping my elbow.
"Get off" I shrugged my elbow from her grasp and glared back at her. "He doesn't need me. He's better off without me"
I responded sharply and looked back at Ayaan who backed away and hid behind the pillar. I closed my eyes and turned trying to block out his frightened face, I gathered myself and walked out blocking everything out. He didn't need me, he deserves a lot more better, I can't give him that and Annie didn't seem to understand. Ayaan doesn't deserve me, he needs someone who can look after him, he needs someone to love him like his mother did, I can't do that because when I see him I see him mother, my wife, my first love. I swallowed hard settling in my seat, I looked at the mansion that was once a home, I used to love coming home, Maahi would be standing by the door with Jiya sat on her hips and they'd both welcome me, I smiled at the faint memory which made me ache within.
I glanced back at the door to see Ayaan stood there looking back at me, a part of me wanted to hold him and assure him but I was afraid of losing him just like I'd lost Maahi and Jiya. I couldn't lose Ayaan, he was my world but I couldn't allow him to come close to me.
I turned my head away and backed away and drove out the driveway leaving him standing there watching me.
Madhu
Thankfully when I made it to the office today Rishabh wasn't here, I had to avoid him at all costs and stop myself from allowing him to get closer to me. I settled on my desk and pulled out the papers and got to work on them and tried to distract myself from drifting away in my thoughts.
I jot down a number of new ideas for the wedding planning so I could prepare myself for the clients who were going to be here at the end of the week to meet me.
I collected the papers and headed to Alicia's cabin. "You free?" I popped my head into her cabin.
"Sorry, I've got a meeting like right about now" she stood to her feet grabbing her things. "And I've got to handle it since Annie won't be coming in this week at all" she sighed brushing her hair back. "Go to Rishabh instead, he'll help you"
I passed her a tight smile as she whizzed past me muttering something beneath her breath, I knew Alicia was frustrated with the amount of work piling up on her since his sister wasn't coming in. I hadn't met her as of yet, I heard a lot though from them, she was business minded but these days she was missing a lot. I looked down at the papers and decided to head to his cabin since I had to show someone these and get it approved before I show them to the client.
I knocked quite a number of times but didn't get a response, I walked next door where his secretary was sat at her desk.
"Hey Is he in yet?" I asked her.
"Nope. Not yet, why don't you go wait inside, I'll let him know you're there when he arrives" she smiled back.
I nodded and entered, I hadn't really noticed his cabin the first few times when I'd entered, I looked around the cabin, the walls were covered in white paint and the furniture was black which called out business, the room was somewhat elegant classy and it spelled Rishabh Kundra. However this room was a different side to him than the Rishabh I've come to know, one who is pretty set in making me melt to my knees and make me accept this attraction. An attraction I wouldn't ever accept.
I walked around the desk seeing the awards and the number of papers on his desk, it was pretty organized and set in an order, my eyes caught the frame sitting next to his folders, I picked it up and looked at it, it was of a woman with two kids. A boy and girl. I wondered who they were.
"What are you doing here?" Rishabh questioned narrowing his eyes, I stepped back looking everywhere but him. I hid the frame behind me afraid if he sees it he'll blast me. I was startled seeing him enter so quietly and hadn't even known he'd come.
"Well answer me Madhu. What are doing in my cabin?"
I swallowed hard, I was panicking within, I didn't have an iota of a clue on how to respond and my silence is only making him frustrated, he was getting annoyed.
"I better go" I spoke softly trying to move away.
"Not till you answer. So tell me? And I've seen the frame so you can put it down" his eyes darkened and intensified narrowing on me.
I placed it down feeling a little guilty and dipped my head down.
"Well?"
I looked at him, he stood by the door with his arms crossed around his chest waiting for me to respond.
"I needed you to have a look at these" I gestured to the papers.
"Hmm" he walked over and settled on his desk, I walked around to the opposite at the same time wanting to keep a distance from him, I passed him the papers and waited for him to look through, he seemed quite angry today, he wasn't in his usual egoistic self, he was more on the arrogant and angry side.
"They're fine" he flicked them on the desk uninterestingly, I couldn't help but feel annoyed at his attitude, I spent an hour on these and he... he didn't seem interested at all.
"Thank you so much for the trouble of checking them" I said tightly and turned to walk out.
"Madhu wait"
I didn't respond and slammed the door shut behind me, that arrogant piece of crap, I stormed back to my desk and slumped onto my chair. I wanted to kill someone right now, I hated that man with a passion.
I pulled out my phone and dialled Tyler's number hoping he would be awake.
"Hello" I could hear his groggy voice on the other end.
"You're still asleep?" I questioned leaning back in my chair.
"Yeah I am. What do you want?"
"Yeah good morning to you too" I rolled my eyes.
"Don't eat my head now. What do you want?"
"Meet me for lunch" I told him rather than asking and he knew it as well.
"What time?"
"Um... about 12, I'll meet at the cafe down the road" I responded.
"Alright, I'll be there"
"You better be or I'm going to kill when I get home"
"Hmm bye" he cut the phone.
I was already feeling better looking forward to meeting Tyler at lunch, I looked at the papers and huffed in annoyance being reminded of Rishabh's attitude to my work.
I looked up hearing the door open, I frowned seeing Rishabh entering and because I hadn't noted before, I noted it now how damn good he looked in his suit, the waist coat hugging his body, his pants sleek and snuggling his long legs. I gathered myself together and composed myself.
"What do you want?"
"Look you caught me at a bad time so I wasn't in the mood to check the papers"
"Done?" I crossed my arm around myself.
"You're pissed off at me?"
I only shrugged.
"How about I buy you lunch?"
"Nope. I've got a date" I responded.
His jaws clenched and his eyes narrowed at me for a moment then he simply turned and walked out shutting the door behind him, I sighed deeply before I dug back into my work, I needed distraction.
Rishabh
I paced in my cabin and her words playing over and over in my ear. Date. She's got a date and I'm her boss right. I stopped and a smile tugged my lips. Well then Miss Malik seems like there will be no date today. Before I could even think ahead I turned around hearing the door swing open and looked at Annie who walked in with Ayaan holding her hand.
"I'm going away bro, I've got my personal life as well so here's your son" she freed away her hand and walked out before I could even register her words properly, I looked at Ayaan who turned his head back looking at Annie retreating, he turned back to me, glancing at me for a moment before dipping his head down.
I turned my head away pressing my eyes closed. How could I handle this? Since Maahi and Jiya died I hadn't spent time with him and now having to look after him?
I looked back at him and noted he looked afraid and was taking small steps back slowly.
"What Madhu?" I looked ahead as she opened the door without knocking, she didn't respond but looked at Ayaan.
Madhu
I entered to give Rishabh a few documents but was surprised seeing a little boy stood there looking as if Rishabh was about to eat him. I knew how he probably felt, this man was quite intimidating.
"Madhu?"
I looked up and passed a tight smile. "Oh, here" I passed him the documents then looked at the boy who was stood there.
"Who's this?" I asked as he stood looking through them.
"Ayaan" Rishabh responded rather in
"Hello" I smiled at him to which he didn't respond to, he had his eyes on Rishabh the entire time.
"Is the ugly man scaring you as well?" I questioned earning a soft smile from him. I loved seeing the smile on a child, it was a smile I didn't have, I swallowed hard and composed gathering myself and wondered how come he was here.
"Done Madhu?" I heard him gritting out, I couldn't help but grin biting my cheeks.
"Yeah. Have you signed the last paper?" I asked not looking back at him.
I could hear him sigh and walk back to his desk.
"So what are you doing here?" I questioned softly.
He didn't respond but looked at Rishabh, turning my head I saw Rishabh looking at us intently.
"Do you need to intimidate the poor boy as well?" I walked towards his desk and stopped on the opposite side as well.
"Whatever. I haven't said a word" he passed the papers back.
"So who is he?"
"I just said Ayaan"
"Yeah I know that" I rolled my eyes at him. "What's he doing here especially in your office?" I questioned, he didn't respond but stared at me. I shifted on my feet wondering had I touched a raw nerve of his or something because he seemed quite expressionless.
"I'll get going" I turned to walk away but stopped hearing his next set of words.
"He's my son Madhu" and it echoed in my ears.
