Episode 381 Discussion: 19th Sept 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for Newcomers to this thread.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum.
When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

TRPs: Week 37, September 8th to 15th, 2013

Last week was pretty enjoyable (for the core viewers who were actually watching) but like several of you said, it was pretty much of a set-up week.
The current track has to show something different to attract either some old viewers back, or get in new ones.
Will the time-tested strategy of saas-bahu (Pabo-Madhu) work here?
From all accounts, there's been no new promotional activity for the show - so people who aren't currently watching are not going to re-engage.
As much as we would want/desire it, reversal is not going to happen right away. And can I add that it may never happen if they mess with the very thing that attracts people to this particular show - RK, and Rishbala. The makers know this.
In the ultimate analysis, TRPs will be a reflection of content. Viewers vote with their remote.

Weekly TRP trends are below (note: data converted from TVTs to TRPs so that we could have consistent comparison points. This is a rough inexact conversion and may not match to the second decimal place with other estimates due to minor differences in conversion methodology)

Note: Data converted from TVTs to TRPs from week 31 onwards. Does not take into consideration impact of adding new markets at various points. Size of these markets, viewing patterns, demographics, level of digitization etc. of those markets would impact TRPs. Also, hard to judge IPL's exact impact.

The two charts below show: 1) Top 15 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same.

Almost all of the other top 15 had TRP/TVT decreases compared to the week prior.

our PDA couple happy to see each other as if they are meeting after a couple of months !

Bittuji aping Roma

Pooja in RK mansion for RK's success and Pabbo giving blessings to Madhu...Yest. also she said that RK's marital life will be happy...more than any curse, these blessings count.

At the breakfast table, Pabbho sends Madhu to see her husband off (maybe it was the traditional view that wives should see husbands off. Whatever it was, Madhu was thrilled.)
Madhu knows her man. She instructs RK not to tick off MC, or anyone else on the sets. Very sweet how RK wanted to be properly sent off 😉, while Madhu is mindful of Pabbho's "rules." They agree to rendezvous at the studio though.😳
Pabbho asks Radha to tone down her glitzy sarees and go for something more age-appropriate!! 🤣 What next, I wonder. BTW, Radhaji looked humiliated after RK's taunts at the Bhatias.
Madhu stuck in puja preparations. Nice that they showed her wanting to be with RK.
At the studio, we finally got to see the legions of wannabe heroines. The auditions were funny. Looks like Roma seems to have a major role in the coordination. Her "Feeling laa naa" admonition to one of the actresses mouthing the "Rahul" lines was amusing. However, the scenes of the budding romance with Bittuji were OTT. I felt zero interest in it.
Back at RK mansion. Pabbho gifts anklets to the bahus, asking them to wear them always. Uh-oh. Can either be a good thing (pretty feet adorned in pretty anklets, maybe inviting some romantic moments?) or Madhu may have to remove them at some point, surely inviting Pabbho's wrath. But so far so good.
Radhaji sweetly gives Madhu permission to take off. Pabbho is NOT pleased with Madhu's disappearance. She gives a meek Radhaji her lecture on appropriate behavior for the bahu, to Dips' delight. Radhaji, this was your cue to 'fess up and tell her that YOU, the mother-in-law sent her. Sins of omission...
MC beatifically lists the attributes of his muse. Does it sound like anyone we know? RK listening.
Madhu walks in, wearing said anklets, framed dramatically by the mist. And then there's my multiple-times rewind scene - RK walks over to her and holds her. With the camera zooming in on them. Can this couple look any hotter together?😳 😳 Both of them oblivious on onlookers (Bittuji looks a little uncomfortable at the intense heat these two are generating.)
Looks like Pabbho's puja has had an instant effect - the heroine has been identified.

The Precap: MC talks to Madhu. Wait for the husband, dude.

Mixed feelings again...

Liked Madhu seeing off RK 😃 But that PDA in front of the whole bloody unit was just too much. There is a time and place for everything. Such blatant PDA doesn't make them romantic, it just makes them look like an attention-seeking couple 👎🏼

Roma-Bittuji romance/whatever is not working. I can take Roma in small doses but if I see her everyday, then she is going to have the same effect on me that Sultan's presence had. I wanted to mute out her scenes today.

I don't blame Radhaji today. She didn't send off Madhu. Madhu wanted to go and she told her that she will explain to Paabho, which she did. Paabho's reaction was also reasonable. Either you don't start a pooja, and if you do, you don't leave mid-way. And that too without personally telling the person who arranged the pooja in the first place. Paabho is right that there was nothing urgent waiting for Madhu at work. And fact is that RK was just behaving like a needy child and Madhu could have explained things to him properly.

Now I'm sounding like a TRP aunty 😲

ETA - Thanks for the TRP analysis Meenu 👏 Further drop is disheartening 😔 I had quite liked the episodes last week. I guess the TRP audience didn't find anything interesting in a wife looking for career options for her husband. Lets see how the TRP audience takes to Paabho's entry this week. She may be the key to the future or else the heroine track may be wrapped up super fast!

The episode was good. Paabho has started showing her true colours. I get the feeling that she will not only make life hell for MB in the coming months but also create differences between RK and MB.

But she will provide the much needed masala in the show. Something different from the Dipali's monotonous antics. Had got bored of them. A new and interesting villian was needed.

In fact I am liking Paabho ji. and Navneet Nishan is a good actress with screen presence.

Roma as usual is intolerably cheap. She defines the term vulgar.

RK & MB PDA was embarrassing. In real life if a couple behaves like this, people would tell them to get a room. Here no one except the audience ever seems embarrassed by it.

About Paabho, I don't think she is going to be vampish or anti-Rishbala. I feel she is going to be the 'rigid elder' who everybody is scared of and who cracks a whip everytime somebody steps out of line. And such an authoritative figure is much needed in MB. We are too indulgent towards Rishbala and get up-in-arms everytime somebody opposes them, but fact is that these two are too crazy for their own good.

It was different during the 4-phera shaadi or the unwedding because at that time we did not want anybody to come between RK-Madhu. Their aggressive chemistry did not need any hindrance.

However, now things are different. Now they are married and settled. They need to be responsible and stable but are behaving erratically and foolishly. If somebody like Paabho had been around during Sultan's time, then things would not have gotten so bad. In fact RK wouldn't have slapped Amar Behl if Paabho had been there to control things. Radhaji is too weak a character to exercise any control over Rishbala's recklessness. Paabho with her rigid principles (but loving heart) is just what the doctor ordered.

Well there is not a lot to say about today's episode apart from that some of the speculations and spoilers seem to be true.

Loved Rk-Madhu's scenes, their first scene was adorable when she sees him off and their phone conversation was nice too loved the first part of the dialogue which was hilarious

Rk: where are you biwi,
Madhu : I'm in your heart,
Rk: get out from there 🤣

And of course the last scene of hero-heroine was nice, especially because it captured their expressions and their PDA very well

Pabbo seemed nice in the beginning of the episode when she asked Madhu to see off Rk, but after because of the pooja issue, she wants to talk strictly with Madhu, for Pabbo the pooja was for Rk's happiness, it's a serious matter for her and from what she said she will never accept Madhu being a heroine!!! , tough ride for Madhu with Pabbo!!!
Mehul Chopra seemed relaxed today, and he was encouraging his team that they will make the film and find the heroine unlike last time when he yelled at Rk!!! after he gave a discription of his heroine there she comes in aur woh bhi with special effects!!!

Well let's see Madhu and especially Rk's reaction to the whole thing

P.S have I mentioned that Madhu-Rk were breathtaking in the last scene😳, they were so comfortable as if there was nobody around😃

Meenu, i forgot to mention this scene..why did masi say this? i mean okay you dress up the way you want to but why expect others to follow? Radha is married and it's her choice how she wants to dress up..she's not a widow ke she has to wear simple clothes..i never heard of this funda pehle...another surprise was that masi immediately agreed to Madhu..usually elders don't do that , nor do they like the youngsters opinion on their rigid thinking..

Roma ..uff 🤢 who the hell is she to ask those wannabes to bring feeling in their dialogues? who is Roma ? an extra? why doesn't she try bringing that expression? why did they bring her to supervise the proceedings, is this a child's play? bhanumati ne kunba joda wali baat toh na karo plz..

the way I see it Meenu, it was Pabbo's blessing to Madhu..and with this blessing and good luck charm from masi, Madhu stepped in Bollywood, in RK's world...sure shot, she will be a success...also, this pooja was kept was RK's "tarakki" so Bappa sent Madhu to RK's set & solve all his problems..this shows, Madhu will never be a hinderance for RK's career, it'll be the opposite...for a change, instead of the bad omens , since yest. , all good omens r showing up in MB..a pleasant surprise, MB has a positive feel to it 😎

Why can't we blame Radhaji CR? Madhu was hesitant to go but Radha told her that she will handle Pabbo and what did she do ? Radha didn't tell Pabbo that Madhu went with HER permission...and SHE asked her to go...what Radha said directly implied that Madhu went bec. RK called her and she didn't care for the pooja happening..Madhu didn't leave the pooja midway, she left before the pooja started...She wanted to tell Pabbo & not go without her permission but she went on Radha's insistence..Madhu was distracted with RK , she wouldn't be able to concentrate on the pooja anyways...

I'm sounding like a rebel now 😃 but i'm very clear on these things..pati comes first..saari duniya 2nd..just my opinion..
