I probably should not wade into this conversation/argument about DD. But I wanted to say that I'm sure overall she is happy she is doing this show. As Avinesh said in the recent interview, it's not good to have gaps where you aren't working as an actor, keep yourself actively working and new opportunities come up easier then if you just sit at home waiting, as others which are active and showcasing their talent will get that role which you are more suited to.

I think initially she was happy with MB because she is Madhubala and also when she was talking about the show last year she mentioned it was because of a girl not wanting to be in bollywood does go on and become a heroine due to circumstances, she seemed very satisfied at the time, however the more we watch the show we know we see DD flare up as Madhubala maybe against Dipali, RK, Sultan sometimes but it's getting rare when she can showcase her talent, most of the time she has limited dialogues, one word or two in the whole episode, hardly anything substantial but I will take you to what I said above about it's better to be working then just sitting at home waiting for the right role, strong personalities for women in serials around her age group (20's age group) are hard to come by last role like that maybe Pratigya and we know the show lost TRP and had to shut down. So perhaps the audiences prefer the men to have the strong personalities in roles in that society in India, so if DD managed to get Geet that's all well and good and maybe in the future if she keeps working she will be lucky enough to get a good role again.

By the way her role as Madhubala yes RK likes to control her, but she is very powerful in that house, her saas and RK's love allows her alot of power, recently we were talking about Meera giving prasad and Radha refusing to take, Madhu took the prasad and gave it to Radha, I know it's just one scene but think back to how she manages the home and she's not a bahu like others in other serials where she is not able to talk when she wants to in the house she can say anything to anyone in the family and never holds her tongue.
