I agree with you, both VD and DD are very talented and have done an amazing job in this serial portraying the characters of rk and madhu. The fact that they are both so good looking only adds more to us enjoying watching them!
I believe whatever character or shades of human behaviour these 2 show when they are acting, it makes us believe them and that is the key sign of a good artiste. So for that reason whether they are togather as a romantic couple or not, they deserve support for doing justice to the character that is written for them and how that character develops.
