Im being completely open minded about his character right now, RK's not even in the picture right now, but he still strikes me as the most frivoulous guy a character could be made out to be! all his morals and dogma mean jackshit if he's that quick to change his opinions and views. I'm sorry but i don't see him bending to Madhubala's views as some devine sign that he's inherently suited for her.

lol.. who said anything about who being suited for who?! and jeez.. divine sign for love and romance?! what are you even talking about.I think you'll apprecaite I don't subscribe to such crappy notions of love😆

I know ,anything that's not sh*t ,is RK 's ego and the lengths to which he goes to to protect it. not sh*t is how he uses his sister-in-law to his own ends, nah that's not frivolous, nor disgusting. Nor is the notion that being possessive is being loving, fudge respect and care , those are soppy and so un-manly.
As for Sultan, it would be a bit futile to explain how there can be connections/feelings other than love, and that memories can carry so many things.. so yeh we'll let this discussion be, its not likely to go anywhere:)

Absolutely! Glad you made this post!
I've been reading posts and have been very puzzled about these quivering fingers of rage that go 'Gangster, Gangster.'

Hello, this is a piece of fiction isn't it? And colourful characters that add interest, action, tension and romance WILL walk in. 😉
Since when did we start vetting fictional characters like this?

Battling a deadline so haven't read every post but I will!

see now you're just lashing out; i didn't even realize i said something to offend you. and wasn't that entirely what we were discussing off topic just now? you're the one who brought it up, i left it at he's a failed gangster and a badly written romantic prospect. but you wanted to argue it through to no end; whatever i guess, it keeps slipping my mind that this forums become less of a discussion place and more of a warzone. anything you say can and will be misconstrued to mean something insulting and rude.

oh.. well I may have worded it strongly but that may have been a consequence of writing this while reading another post that raised my hackles. sorry bout that.

But yes, I do believe there's no point in arguing further, cause our views and opinions are diametrically opposite and completely opposed.no sarcasm there. :)

They did at first. I think they've faltered a bit, but still overall I would say they did a good job. I have worries on how they well they could pull it off in the future. I hope like hell they do, but I think Hindi television as it is now, they are limited on how well they can show the story of an actress and a gangster.

Great post, ninand. Very well written. I've gone through the thread and read your responses, which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. Very interesting exchange of arguments! :)

And I have to say, I do agree with the member who made the point about Sultan being a possible contender for Madhu's feelings as the real issue. I happen to agree with that. Even if Sultan wasn't a gangster, I doubt certain members would embrace him. The whole hoopla about his past is just a cover up (IMO)

people will scream and shout that he is a Gangster and a criminal so therefore should not be this and must not be that because they do not like him coming in btw what they like.
believe me if he was the one who this show started with and married Madhu by force then publicly humiliated her later on like someone did trust me who is he and what he does for a living will not matter.
they are tagging him as a criminal only because he is not the guy standing with Madhu in that title montage if he were to be the one, all this people saying he is this he is that and is gonna end up in jail or Madhu should have call police would have be the one waiting for the day he is gonna be a change man.
the day when he is gonna find himself another job so that Madhu won't leave him and non of them will ever ever think abt Madhu sending him to prison...God this world is full of hypocrites.

Sultan is going to die in the end...just bcoz Rk said that...whats with such a long justifiation🤢🤣

I am not a Sulbala fan but I dont find anything wrong if they bring in something between them...

at least Sultan is not showing off what he is not n is always his true self...good bad..ugly...he is not manipulative...n the best thing for me..in their relation till now...Madhubala always got upper hand😈🤣

on a serious note...CVs have not got any romantic angle btw MS yet...they are just caring for each other...more a friendly gesture...😳

I wanted to add. I don't know if this is the place to put it, but it goes with your overall point that part of what makes Sultan is his characterization as a gangster--and that characterization is also what allows the story to move forward in a certain way.

In today's episode, Sultan's response to Madhu that any problem to her is also his problem and no one not even her husband can do anything. That is also tied to his Gangster/Bhai mentality.

Sultan has Aryan and Kaka as his close people. Madhu had kind of become part of that unit. To expand Sultan's own metaphor, just as the lion of the jungle teaches its cub to hunt, so does the lion protect its pride.

It's just not as simple as--Sultan is falling a bit for Madhu and that's the reason behind his reaction and his protectiveness. (Not saying that it can't be part of the reason.) I'm not talking of his intercepting RK's car and checking up on Madhu. I think it's obvious that he was quite right in doing what he did, and also right in backing away when she asked him. But just as he behaved as Gangster in pulling out the gun, he defended that action not as man asserting his right or protectiveness over a woman but as a man who lives in a world where such loyalty and ferocity is everything when it comes to those who are worthy of it.

Aryan, in his worry that night Sultan was missing, told Madhu Sultan once had a very good friend for whom Sultan searched the whole night, implying of course that the friend had died. If indeed it was that the good friend had met his demise, there is no doubt in my mind that Sultan avenged his friend with a fury.

And though he may not have become part of those whom Madhu considers close, she has become so for Sultan...for all that she has done for (him and) his son.
