You're right. The whole drama of MEIEJ is built up around Madhu's action(s). So flawed or not, the serial can't run without her.

I don't hesitate to say although I ask for Madhu's character development time and again, she is my favourite character...

She is what she is - strong yet vulnerable, too caring/protective for her own good [if she wasn't, the contract marriage would never have happened; neither this Sultan track would have], she steadies herself after a fall [doesn't wallow in self-pity]; she allows herself to be healed [Aryanbala bonding has been so honest and natural on both sides! can't help but love it.] I love what you have mentioned - she is like water who moulds herself as per the situations she has to deal with.
