👏👏👏👏

I know I wrote my views on Saturday's episode update quite late so many may have not read it but today's chawl events just reiterate them and so did RK's words. He humiliated her not to take blame or anything but simply humiliated her.

"6 mahine baad koi cheez pasand nahi aaye waise lautane aaya hoon"

I want this to be revenge'pure revenge because any excuse to explain this emotional abuse of a woman will be not acceptable to me as a woman. That does not mean I don't like drama. I like drama but I don't want RK's any kind gesture behind this annihilation. Because any excuse to explain this will be just a man's POV that anything including emotional abuse and dishonoring a woman in public can be explained if intention is correct. If truly there was a reason other than revenge, there were many other avenues and ways of achieving destruction of relationship vis--vis destruction of a human being aka Madhubala.

The only thing I could not decide upon was Precap. After all what RK said and did, Padmani still went to beg in front of him. Was that keeping aside every pride for her daughter's happiness'was that last hope that her daughter will still be able to love this man if he acceded that he was wrong and joking'was it the final nail in coffin to make Madhubala see RK humiliating Padmani because Madhubala can forgive her own humiliation but not her mother's or was it just for TRP aunties'still wondering about that.

I know it is Shri's prerogative so this is just my feedback. From Drama perspective, it was awesome. Fabulous acting and dialogues. From storyline perspective, with tweets and building anticipation, again very good. Mystery is still there as to what will be next track and spiciness is back in the story. Maybe now even TRP aunties will want Madhu to go down the bollywood route and become the diamond which can get fixed in a crown but will RK be able to remain as crown is yet to be seen.

My only complain will be if they try to justify it as something other than revenge. Let it be a dark story because my feminism will not allow me agree with Madhu being a perpetrator of unknown crime or of RK being a victim in any way.

Let there be a long road of repentance after RK realizes what he has lost and Madhu finally giving into his repentance because of her love, her peace of mind and on her own terms.

@bold: agree with you.

that's what he thinks... at least in my view...he is too preoccupied with the thought of revenge...when he lose her totally, he will realize the mistake...well, this is just pure speculation from my part...I am just judging based on what has been shown and not thinking abt tweets and 2 weeks hypothesis...I might be completely wrong since am not such a good judge of serials/characters/writers and neither can analyze indepth like all of you...

Yes, That's true that Padmini and Madhu both are in bad state of mind but Begging ????? No way that too for a person who already faced this in her life , A marriage without Love, without respect, without trust, without Truth , Without Togetherness ???? Nothing is there ... Why she is not helping her broken Daughter rather then weakening her . No way ... Never ... Padmini's character was shown very strong but this ... NO MOTHER can send her daughter to a place where she is having just pain n pain . She herself fails to judge him .

She is doing it in front of his entire family. Granted she is not privy to all the drama, tension between RK and his mom, however what she is doing is daring him to defy, deny her plea in front of his whole family. She is daring him to take a stand either way and he will be forced to do it tomorrow. Padmini is not weak, her daughter is her pride and joy and it is necessary for her to take this approach as the first step. methinks.

Before watching the episode, I told myself it is going to be yet another heartbreaking episode and regardless of whether he is doing it for a revenge or not and regardless of how they are going to justify his actions I am going to watch the episode with an open mind since ST did promise that the drama that will unfold will be gripping and he absolutely stood by his promise and consistently has been delivering some fantastic, mind blowing episodes. The show has one of the best gorgeous looking leads and the direction and dialogues have been stupendous. Despite the track being brought in to provide a twist or a high point in the show I have to admit that I still have a hard time coming to terms with the "Kameena" RK who has been portrayed over the past two days but I am not going to give up on the show yet. For some reason, I want to trust ST and give him the two weeks he had requested for the full and total revelation of this so called revenge act.

I liked today's episode for two straight forward reasons - the actors and the dialogues. The cast and crew had to work at wee hours in the morning with dipping temperatures just so they could provide us with an enthralling drama. They had to be applauded for that. Both DD and VD were fabulous today but VD rocked it. He has truly let himself get carried away with his character RK and it looked like the character has become more like his second skin. The finesse with which he delivered his dialogues was simply superb and despite his height of Kameenapan I couldn't stop admiring him. I actually was bewildered looking at the way he was methodically nullifying every single act of his which we all assumed as him being in love was only a ploy, a stepping stone for a bigger and better outcome, a cold ruthless revenge. I thought he took a cheap shot and clearly crossed the line when he mocked her selflessly giving up herself wanting to take their relationship to the next level. That was uncalled for and that is uncool. How would she ever be able to even touch him or come near him when he made such a comment about her selfless unconditional love. I say not cool! He should not get away with what he had said and done and MB should not forgive him under the name of love instead they should duly address the harassment that she endured is not a given for anyone who is or who will fall in love. I am also hoping for a long, drawn out repentance track if they are planning to redeem his character and I am pretty sure they would considering he is one of the main leads and is her hero as ST put it. There was already an article out that talked about redemption on the cards which I will not discuss here and will bring it up in the media articles thread.

I so wanted Madhu to ask him if he had ever loved her and she did and there was clearly uneasiness in him and just diverted his looks for a fraction of second before he continued his act. Also when she was in a state of shock and beyond belief he did look like he was trying to gauge her and actually softened a little when he saw her bangles break and spots of blood on her hand. That sight of her twisted my heart and I wanted to cry with her and cry for her for all the heartache and pain she has endured so far. DD was fabulous in that scene and she portrayed the shock, the disbelief and the pain brilliantly. The best creative and original dialogue to me was when he had used Newton and his gravitational pull theory with the apple hitting his head and drew an analogy as to how after getting hit by Malick's bullet his mind went on to work overtime just so he could lead her (his unsuspecting prey) up to a tenace as in the game of bridge in order to prevent her from winning the trick with an intermediate card. He claims that he clearly had a strategy in mind when he saw her winning in her relationships with everyone of them (his mom, Bittuji and himself included) and with each one of her wins it appeared that he was declining in his advantage of being the rude, crass, cold, heartless RK that he was and whom we know of. It was very sad to see him use love in his game of revenge and make a mockery of her unconditional and selfless love.

Today, his actions proved that "revenge is a dish best served cold". He made this unbearable to her in so many ways because she is in no way shape or form to retaliate and the worst of it is she was not prepared for any of this simply because he was her world and she was ready to walk away from everything that made her world so far and now her world is empty and she probably is like an empty shell void of any emotions with no idea as to what is real and what is not. He basically called her a stupid and emotional fool for falling in love with him and when she said that he saw love for her in his eyes he called it was all his acting skills doing overtime and putting up with her hugs and caresses which he never reciprocated whole heartedly to begin with. It clearly came as a shock for us viewers to comprehend if RK is for real then how on earth Madhu is not supposed to go into a shock and depression considering he called her useless and made her life worthless.

RK humiliating her publicly at the chawl did not go down well with me. She is devastated and zoned out because of all that he had said and done by the lakeside and what was the need for him to kick her when she is already down and broken beyond redemption. I guess he is known to create larger than life drama and Madhu as his only audience was not going to cut it for him. He needed a bigger audience for his act and hence ends up creating more drama at the chawl. I am not going to speculate his intentions behind stooping so low since I will go no where with it and hence will stick to what was shown today and that is the best explanation that I could come up with. No amount of good intention is going to cut it for his behavior at the chawl today and I am going to stop right there.

@most recent montage - Are they really confused as to what montage to use because I saw both montages in the video that I had watched today (the one where they look into each other's eyes and the other where they are facing with their backs). My two cents is that the montage before the most recent one might have been used to throw the viewers, news outlets and reporters off of the current twist/track. Even I was not buying the revenge promo, solely based on the montage which had them gazing into each others eyes. May be it is all a trick and publicity stunt they pulled to increase the curiosity of the viewers and keep the actual track under wraps. I say well done ST, mission accomplished as I have not given up yet and might I say my curiosity still exists for this show and the upcoming episodes.

Precap was heart wrenching seeing Padmini begging him to take Madhu back as he is her life and she cannot imagine a life without him. If it was any other time, Madhu would have retaliated and asked her mom not to plead infront of a monster like him but not today considering she is at a state where she does not comprehend what is real and what is not. So, it is all a plot by him and him only since no body else is involved. No Bittji, No Radha and no Dips. Atleast, that gives me some hope because once all of these people find out they all will be supporting Madhu and RK will be alienated for sure. If that was his plan to alienate himself from the rest of the world, then he has accomplished his mission gloriously.

But what he is doing looks nothing less than a sick sick revenge plan. I agree with Sona. There was not a second in today's episode where it felt like he is not taking a revenge. How I wish I could just skip forward to the end of this track, but since that's not happening, I'll pretend to be patient and go through this.

Apart from the pain and hurt induced today, the episode stood out to me for it's crazy onliners. And ofcourse Vivian Dsena. They have always been good with his dialogues. But today, in between such a high voltage drama, when RK said "jab Newton Uncle ke sar pe apple gira tha", I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud. There were also few others that were too good. "Pooch lagane ki der hai". And Vivian Dsena was marvelous. I know I do his "gungaan" everyday. But trust me, I'm not fan. I'm just amazed with what he does onscreen. How does he make it look all so convincing and emote so well? Because his real personality is at 180 degrees from RK's persoanlity. Is this guy really 24? Because I'm his age and I still feel and think like a kid.

Today RK explained how he actually planned everything. Since as viewer we are seeing everything through Madhu's eyes, I will say it was tedious but needed. Because he has to sell the idea that this is indeed a revenge to Madhu and us viewers. But shooting a brand new scene from the past, showing RK looking over at a sleeping Madhu like she is a prey is a bit overkill IMO. They will always have this liberty to add stuffs to a past track to make it look credible. They should not misuse it. But then again, CVs are good at their job and since I can't do a better job than them, I'll let it rest.

I cringed today when he brought up the kiss and the village night intimacy. It was dreaded but not unexpected. This I consider to be the blow below the belt. In today's generation, people will say its not a big deal but I think its still demeaning to make fun of someones emotion like that. She surrendered herself completely, both emotionally and physically. She made herself vulnerable because she believed RK will shield her. Instead RK not only exposed her but also ridiculed her for being so naive.

I can say nothing in RKs defense today. It was like he wanted to destroy each and every memory they had together. Not a single memory is left that we or Madhu can look back fondly. I guess fondly, in these circumstances is a strong word to use.

The chawl drama - free mein chawl vaasi ke entertainment hote hi rehte jab se shaadi hui hai Madhu ki. I can't bring myself to believe that this is all to empower Madhu or so that she will gain public sympathy. Even sympathy is a lot of baggage. Sometime over-sympathy never lets the wound to heal. And in our normal Indian society, even if everyone agrees that husband is a monster, theres always this slight hint attached with it, that the girl has somehow failed. Even if its nobodys business, they will never stop speculating. I don't know about this particular chawl people. But in general, I will never want people to feel sorry for me.

Very well said. 👏

@bold
that was precisely the point of this whole exercise. He wanted there to be no doubt, in not just Madhu's mind but also in the minds of her family, that he was after revenge. Even if Madhu is absent from the scene, sooner or later they will all ponder at least amongst themselves about RK's reason. He had to convince Madhu because only she can convince everyone else about his deception. Because if Madhu who was willing to leave everyone behind for him believes it to be simply revenge, then why would anyone else think otherwise.

As to the fact that he could have done it in some other way, he could not have. Nothing less than this complete humiliation would have been enough for Madhu. RK knows how easily she forgives him and so he had to make this as below the belt as possible. He had break every line of decency to make sure she hated him.

Whatever his reason, in his mind this pain/humiliation which Madhu is suffering, and not just her but everyone else too, is worth it. Because RK strikes me as a person who will not be ashamed to do anything necessary to achieve his goals.

I think dear, she was just too pained to see her broken daughter and it was just a last ditch effort to save her marriage. She did not hear what happened at the marriage venue. Only things she knows of id what he said at Chawl.
Even I wondered because my first reaction was why she is begging him. But then to me it was an act of mother who will do anything including keeping aside her self respect if she thought it was for her daughter's benefit. For now she stillt hinks Madhu can be happy if RK agrees because to her it was some argument and RKs words about status. She doesn't know all the details and her daughter is visible silent and shattered.
Also, I am sure RK will say something to her which will actually joult Madhu out. She can forgive him for what he said to her but never to what he will say to her mother. Even previously, only time she reacted with vengence was when he insulted Padmani at a set. She was ready to be his spot but she could not bear that.

Look at it this way-
What drives him to put his life at risk so that only he has the right to break her? Would you not call that love in some form or fashion?
What is drives him insane when he sees Madhu? Why it was so important for him to make sure her marraige with Mukund never happens ...was it just to break her or something more?
Ofcourse my assumption is based on fact that we will stick with this characterization and CVs won't do a volteface two weeks down the road and give some lame reason to explain his cruelty as act.

completely agree 👏 Puja, this is possible till yest. all of us thought they can never justify his revenge drama in the light of those 5 months of love, care and tenderness towards Madhu...but they did it today..i cannot explain what i'm going through..a part of me fails to accept that this is revenge ..chalo revenge bhi i accept but those 5 months were an ACT , i dun believe it...if it's revenge then be it...how will they sell this drama? they will again cross each other's way and we want them to fall in love also 😲and that will never be convincing to me..after all this, if they again fall in love then God bless them and us..okay RK will but Madhu? she'll be the biggest fool on this planet to get attracted to this guy...I respect your, Leela and Shri's views about Rk's characterization but this is beyond a normal person's understanding...no matter how sick their reasoning might be, it's better ke they furnish a justification for his behavior..it's better if they show that Madhu is shattered with his "truth" , whatever it is, and she ends this relationship..

@Assuming that we stick with current characterizations...the CVs will have no problem selling the drama. On all the other shows we have traditional family worshipping heroes who quietly see thier wives being made jump through hoops by thier mother...Here we have the lead put her through the same. Misery will sell if not for anything else than for novelty.
Now for love...My guess is Madhu will pick up her life where she left it much to the displeasure of RK. He is bored now that his revenge is done. Everyone has moved on but him who is missing the thrill . His success feels hollow given that he did not seem to make much impression on Madhu. She was supposed to go in depression, yearn for him, cry for him...instead he is standing there. He loves her ...he just does not understand it. As for her she too loves him back but given her mother's history , she is not planning to stay in an abusive relationship. So she pretends indifference and forges ahead...one day at a time.
So what is next...Madhu does not like movies so he twists her hand to drag her back on his turf. He is in control and she is his prey. Madhu takes on his challenge. They are back into playing games but Madhu does not give in until he walks the long path of redemption if ever.
It is a matter of interpretation as to who is the prey? RK or Madhu...Does RK control Madhu with his chess moves or does Madhu control him by forcing him to make those moves to begin with her indifference.
I am trying to find some real life examples where the couple seemed to have a very long turbulent and difficult relationship but in the end no one could deny thier love for each other.
I can only think of Elizabeth Taylor for now ...her being more like RK. I can't think of many on celluloid but there are a number of couples in music world or in literary world. The other one is King William II and Methilda.

Painful, painful scenes today...but RK was masterful as this evil mastermind. The destruction of another human being, especially one as innocent as Madhu is inhuman to watch, but it fits with the way he was shown beforehand, it really does. This was the man who crafted her statue, and made a mini replica of her town just so he could have the pleasure of destroying it, and her life.
I'm still upset, but as Shri said, the time for mourning is over. I'm watching these episodes very analytically and have come to a conclusion from a narrative point of view- until CV's reveal there reasons and if this whole charade is a lie, fine, but until then I see this as a starting over.
ST had to tell a story- the rise of a junior artist with a superstar guiding the way. That story was interrupted. He is now going back to the bones of that story. So I too shall set the reset button. All of it was a lie? Alright, then. I will now see it from that point of view- two different lives, two different worlds.
It's hard, but RK's actions are making it easier. I want to keep watching, so we'll see how it goes.
But now, a redemption track would be too much. Let him be as is, and we will see how Madhu matches him.
