Thanks for the awesome retrospective. It absolutely makes sense to me. He wants to release her from the burden he placed on her, ad make her free. And yes, he also wants to test his own love...because he does not know the depth of love yet, unlike Madhu...but he will soon find out what Madhu means to him. It is the realization and redemption phase for him.

I also think this is fake revenge...he has done it to release Madhu from the agony of estrangement with her beloved family. He forced her into his life which he now thinks was wrong, and wanted to release her completely, so instead of being generous, he acted evil.

If you see right through he has always given importance to Madhu's need to be with her family. The night after Mallik's third attack on him when he trapped him, Madhu not knowing what really transpired between Mallik and RK, accuses him of humiliation of her father. He could have dispelled her MU but instead chose to maintain his silence and instead took her to her home to spend a couple of days with her family. He sent her home to be with her mother the day before PAD-Shammo wedding because it would be the last night she will have her mom all to herself. He went out of the way to patch things up between Pads and Shammo and made Madhu forgive her dad for his attempt on his life. As he himself has grown in an environment which did not have strong family ties, he values the strong bonds Madhu has with her family. Now she was willing to give that up for this uncertain future with him. The enormity of what she was willing to do did not hit him till he read the letter she had written to her mum. Her pathos was there very much in evidence. He had to adopt the roughest of routes to push her away from him and back to her family.
