Shri - Great take my friend!

I agree with what you had said about Madhu not trusting Malik or respecting his privacy. She should have confronted him and asked him directly as opposed to going behind his back to dig up his trunk and also go looking for his gun. I also had the same thought as to why the CVs made her to take this twisted route as opposed to making her directly confront him. But after much thinking, if you look at it from her perspective, she did follow him the first time around when he was out in the woods burying the gun and questioned him what he was doing and did not get a direct response from him. He brushed it off by changing the topic of conversation and went on to talk about her childhood fear of ghosts. She clearly sensed his discomfort there. Malik was not willing to reveal the truth to her becasue he wanted to keep his word that he gave to RK. Also, she questioned Malik about the locket when she was getting ready to cut his hair and he brushed it off saying that it fell somewhere and he did not want her to pursue the search for his locket.

In her defense, she tried not once but twice and did not go anywhere. So, what makes you think that she would have gotten a straight forward answer from Malik if she had confronted him without the gun? She confronted Malik at two different occasions only to see him act indifferently during both of those times. So, I am going to cut some slack to Madhu there. As far as her not giving Dips back is because she does not know what RK thinks of her or what her position is in the mansion. What RK told her out loud was that she is a priced possession, a toy for him and not once acknowledged her in front of EVERYONE that she is his wife. I clearly remember him calling her a 9th servant and how she is there only to fulfill her contractual obligation. May be tomorrow when he reinstates to EVERYONE in the mansion that she is Madhubala Rishabh Kundra and she gets the same level of respect and treatment as him would make a mark in everyones mind that she is not to be messed with and going forward she will be able to handle Dips and everyone else who tries to put her down.

@reena - Thank You! You know I was actually not happy about Madhu going behind Malik's back but after much thinking I realized that she did try twice and since she did not get a direct response from him decided to find it on her own.

To RK With Love: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/madhubala-ek-ishq-ek-junoon/3291959/wackiness-unlimited-to-rk-with-love

SD, Agree with your take on Radhaji. What a selfish woman! Someone has a needle to lend me? I want to burst the bubble she is living in...

Dont want to say anything more abt her.. And also about the izzat-ka-jaabi-khoya woman...

re. Madhu.. SD, you are being too harsh on Madhu.. I am with nlm, Sona and Manonoids on this one..

re. madhu confronting Malik without searching for the weapon: I personally would have acted the way Madhu would have. Atleast I think so... Though I would rather be dead than allow someone like Dipzy to humilate me. Madhu need to stop crying and give back in equal measure..

Peach,
Loved your wackiness post. Had good laugh. 😛

And over Madhu. ...I deliberated, if I should answer or not. Before you leave for the day, here is my response.

Let's agree to disagree. You will start knowing me... How harsh I can be.
Though I want to ask you and also tell you...
  • what would you have wanted to do with the weapon after searching for it. May be then, I will understand what were Madhu's intentions that could not have been achieved without her asking her Dad.
  • I would have respected your digging/searching for the weapon, if in the same stubborn/defiant manner, you had answered Dips and Radhaji...
  • If by daybreak time, you had cared to send some kind of message to your husband on your whereabouts. One just doesn't sit at Police station, when you walked out of the house with a promise to "I will come back before you wake up, hubby."

  1. In all of this who is the girl respecting ? herself, her family, her husband, time, duties etc.
  2. It had to be Radhaji who said, why are you explaining to me, I did not bring you here.
  3. Why would Madhu go forward to catch hold of Dipali calling her Bhabhi ? Why the hypocrisy in her shaken state when before RK she calls Dipali as Dipali.
  4. What's with the obsession to call a strange man's family as your family when that man himself refuses to acknowledge them as his family.
  5. She walks on the roads like she is not a superstar's wife. She doesn't care for anything, then why couldn't she just walk out and wait for RK at the building gates to meet him outside. A better tamasha than having to listen to crap, which will have instant result. And for God's sake, where did she drop her cell phone ?
  6. If anyone asked about the locket like that, won't you say, its too common design and looked like my dad's and so went to check. All these things should come out as reflexes and not as thinking answers.

The CVs will have to correct the big time dichotomy in Madhu's character and resulting actions. I have one elemental question for Madhu. If she does not respect herself, if she is not capable of respecting herself, can she atleast defend herself for her husband's sake when the man so many times told her that only she is his family and no one else is. If she goes against her father in this belief and is not ready to forgive him for trying to kill her husband, then in same token, can she not defend her husband's beliefs. Couldn't she have opened her mouth against Dipali and say something? Couldn't she have said "BAS, this is not your house to throw me out". Does she need an RK to defend her ? If she is so afraid to say anything, then why was she walking back to the house ?

But again there is no dichotomy at all. This is the same Madhu who took crap from Mukku's mother. So she is now taking same crap from Dipali and Co. Gosh! Why did Saurabh Tiwari create Madhu like this ? She doesn't even fit the bill of being a kathputhli. She is just strange shaving men whom she just met few days ago

Its not my harshness. Its simple logic. She is just a bitter pill to swallow. If the CVs wanted me to see all these characteristic dichotomy of the TV soap heroine, then that's my response. Just like it appeals to so many viewers out there, it does not appeal to me.
Read any Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel. His female character, though sacrificing and all devotional to the man, is able to show her consistent strong self, making the man's ego a pithy one.

Anyways, may be I am just too tired with the drama and should watch it in silent mode and not with my antennae on.

Priya,

@bold
After that, things have changed. The day Madhu sat for Pooja on Mata ki chauki/jagrata, she became RK's official wife to everyone EXCEPT Dipali. RK already reinforced to Madhu before Dipali that Madhu is his official wife and that Dipali is a Makkar, jhooti.

What more you want than that ? Do social customs/conventions take higher precedence than a MAN's word ? Its debatable. And yet RK, through those two means honored Madhu as his wife.
Its time Madhu starts respecting RK as her husband and not just take care of him like a nurse the way he taunted her one night.

Who knows what Shamsher would have said when Madhu told him that Police found your locket. We can only guess. Even if Shamsher lied and was getting away with truth, as daughter, Madhu would have got the answer. Its not difficult for a daughter to know when her Dad is lying. This is not like Madhu has a scheming villanish father.

ETA:
For me the word matters more than the customary practice. Because giving a word adds on the person's accountability to honor it.
Also RK in person, has told Madhu that he is her husband and she is his wife and that she is the bahu of the house. In Studio, to Dips in his room and to Madhu while trying to tell what is Dipali to him. This is before the hospital scene and pooja scene.

Its really bad, how Indian Soap Industry works. They compromise a lot on the soap heroine's character. Wish things change. And I am trying my best to provide my feedback as I am an ardent TV fan. I give my feedback wherever possible. Never shied away from that. Don't want to be a passive viewer of the so called idiot-box. If the show goes and informs media that they spent Rs.11 crores in producing the show until this time, the they better hear what they are doing to their lead character.
Rs 11 crores is something...

SD, Some great points..

We agree to disagree re Madhu-Malik.. But I agree with you re. Madhu-Dipzy... and Madhu-Mukku mom.. I hate it when girls take all insults from others as if it is their due..

Sometimes I despair that the girl has no brains... Its like a case of the beauty and the geek... When is she going to open her eyes and see things clearly and learn to stand up for herself? Perhaps the CVs are planning a character growth for her after she becomes a heroine.. Until then she is just a beauty who stole the geek's heart...

RK-Dipzy equation and Madhu-Dipzy equation are most most irritating to me..

@Shri - I get what you are saying. Us as viewers know that RK has accepted her as his wife but does Madhu realizes that as well? What I think is that she is noticing some changes in him, he has softened a little bit towards her but still does not know what is really going on in his mind. She is still puzzled and hence we see her asking her mother if she thinks that RK really is concerned for her and/or values/respects her feelings. He acknowledged her as his wife only in front of Dipali and Madhu was a witness to that but she could have also assumed that it was one of those spur of the moments that RK had and blurted out to Dips just to keep her away. RK did look like he was caught in his act when he was admitting loud and clear to Dipali. I think she has already started valuing him and their relationship and hence her curt response to Malik that she can forgive him as a daughter but not as a wife.

Priya,

Read my ETA to the previous post. The girl(Madhu) is grappling with contrasting truths. Agree. But the girl can very well note when the man gives his word in official manner. No one is asking her to love the man, but she can honor the marriage.

Tell me which girl will be okay to wear the other woman's saree and refuse to take it off when man asks to remove. Its just non-sensical drama, prolonging drama for karwa chouths, Diwalis, Christmases, New Years and Valentines and what not.

Sourabh Tiwari already sacrified Madhubala's original character for the show's survival, now he started compromising RK's character. Where is this show going ? Tell me, Should Dips be the reason for Madhu to become a heroine ? May be they will show it in very interesting manner and may be I will buy it and enjoy it...but can Dips be that person ? Should she get that much significance ? Think Think...

I stuck to the show, because of RK/VD's performance. VD got the award too. Happy...But its kinda getting boring now without RK...its like watching House MD without House there. If you all remind me it is Madhu Bala EIEJ, then show me a Madhu Bala, whom I would love to watch. Honestly that character did not even get any TRPs. Not my fault. The producer. story writer need to do serious revamping for the lead female actor's role.

And poor Drashti, she having to give interviews...ya when I become heroine, then something will happen etc...That day when she was giving the interview to ABP, she told them nowadays, she's becoming picky with her shoots and wants her acts to be done when she is in flow. That tells us that finally her competitiveness is showing up. She is serious enough to shine with her role and performance. Then please can someone give her meaty lines ? You should have seen her perform in Geet in the initial story when she confronts her brother when he tries to kill her. She was as superb as VD in RK's role. DD knows how to act. Just give her credible story line. Please. Why sacrifice the actor's aspirations ? I really feel for her.

Rubbish this is!

I was wondering the same. Why is it that Indian TV heroines are treated like doormats. Free for all. I swear I wanted to kill Dipz but more so Madhu to stand up and stop the bullying and abuse. Urgh. So frustrated.
