I guess a slew of saas bahu shows which rank at the top and are seen by the core Indian audience that is unfortunately the kitchen audience. These awards mostly go by general popularity and yes, an Akshara is more famous than Madhu of Madhubala. Audience cares more about Priya of BALH wasting her fab talent on a poor script than an Anoop Soni hosting Crime Patrol or a Mohit Raina doing a fantastic job on Mahadev.

Another issue is the tendency to continue awarding older actors year after year. For younger ones, you have these new face , great performer , star performer and other awards which basically mean - kids , back off .

Also, production houses have favours with the juries of these awards. Small example, why have Vivian and Rati been given these awards and not in the 'best actor' category?

Let Drashti Dhami do an Akshara or a Sandhyaji and see her nominated instantly .

I just wish that Drashti had won an award too! She deserved to be nominated over other actresses! She is such a talented actress!😔

But I always tell myself that DD doesn't need an award to prove her acting skills! She is the best no matter what others say! 👍🏼

Hopefully DD will win an award in the near future though! 😊

I agree wd victoria here each n every word but still i am sure the day will come soon when DD will get award too, MB got PCA n Viv got ITA so the list of award started n now the list is gonna continues, Insah Allah next will be DD to join the list

dmg,pkyek,remix,geet ol were fab.their actor r popular bt they never get awards much though.

DD did Get one award by millions votes ahead and top trp shows were competing against it It wasn't actress award but Jodi award. Both Gurti got 2 awards for that Jodi award one award for Gurmeet and one award for Drashti :) She also won a That itself was a challenge because it was a Star one show who never even get nominate hardly but won in gold awards with almost 1 million votes above than other jodies. Zee TV said so..If she can win and get all the attention just by Star One show and shows like 7+ trps competing against, then I am sure she will get it with Madhubala too:)
For VD, it was first time, so Congrats to him:)

P.S DD also won best actress in SBS award. Don't know if that counts.
