I think it was either an editing or a directing glitch...when you try to look for it, its very obvious that he went for her cheek first and even paused there for just a moment before moving back her hair...there should have been a bit more focus on that part for the audience to pick up on it..
Ok just watched the scene again you guys are right.
The way he was holding his thumb and finger was how you do when you pull someone's cheek.
maybe he wanted to but when she said kya hua he went for her hair.
or maybe totally editing glitch. Who knows.
