SD, you had posted this in the last thread:

This is along the same lines of what I was thinking about the whole situation. I like to live in my own delusional world when it comes to some of my TV shows though and I'd like to think that he wasn't so much affected by her because he still cares for her but rather there has to be something else. Maybe he just can't be bothered by her His use of her nickname kind of bugged me the first time I watched it but part of me thinks he used it so easily because that's what everyone calls her, he was having a serious discussion with her and it wasn't said in an endearing way but rather as one would call Joseph Joe, or William Will, you know. He was most affected, I felt (and again remember sometimes I'm delusional) when she brought up Madhu. I'm pretty sure most people have brought this fact up, he was not having any of her bad mouthing his wife.

Obviously there was some sort of relationship with him and Dips, perhaps he saw something in her that made him think that finally, since the death of his father he had found someone he could start letting in, maybe they bonded over something they had in common, perhaps it was mostly physical, I don't get it. Obviously she was a good actress because she fooled him and that was the last straw for him and he hasn't trusted anyone since.

I do like the fact that all the people that have wanted to be in his life and have pushed their way into it are the ones that have disappointed him the most and the one relationship that he went out and forced into his life is the one that will (hopefully) turn out to be the strongest one and will make him believe again.

I keep forgetting that eventually Madhu is supposed to become an actress, that's fine and good, but right now, I'm okay with her just being Madhu. I don't know if I want her to be an actress because I honestly love the story that's being told between these two people, exploring their past and how that's brought them to their present and the possibilities for the future.

I do also like your predictions, I was trying to figure out how everything we're hearing is going to fit together.

I was reading through everyone's thoughts about the legality of the marriage, and while I'm no expert on Hindu weddings I just always assumed that there were 7 pheras, I've only been to a handful of them myself and those were when I was a kid. In my religion we have 4 lavan.

Regardless, I mean the marriage rituals that everyone has in their own communities and religions or what not, I get they're there for a reason but at the end of the day you're not legally married unless you've got a valid marriage licence right? I might have imagined this and I can go back and try to find the clip where I saw this, but was there not a scene where RK mentioned the marriage licence. I don't think it was the contract because I'm almost positive this scene was shown before the whole thing at the hospital. Perhaps the two of them signed some marriage licence, but signing a paper doesn't make for exciting television so they decided to scratch that for some of the other drawn out scenes (I found myself thinking the wedding and the events right after it dragged a bit at times).

I don't know, I think that if you've signed that piece of paper you're married. Now being legally married and actually being married are two different things.

I was thinking along the same lines, but I also wonder (again, delusional me) if it had in part to do with his need to have her close, perhaps he finds some comfort in having her there. I find it odd that RK hasn't been drinking lately but perhaps he doesn't need to as many people pointed out that Madhu has replaced the need for alcohol to get through his nights. I mean, why else switch from the couch to the bed and then ask her, using the word please nonetheless, to stay there with him (yeah yeah, I know you're thinking the couch was probably uncomfortable, minor detail). Maybe it's something he doesn't want to admit to himself but he needs her close.

Okay, I'm starting to feel like I've stopped making sense so I really should head to bed now, I just hope I made some sense in this novel that I've written.

He likes having Madhu close, no doubt about that...and I think she does calm down the "janwarness" in him...lol..RK has a lot of passion inside him and he needs to focus it on something...before he used to drown it in alcohol..now he focuses it on madhu hence no need to drink..

Re legality of marriage - If you have been living as man and wife (as in telling people that the other person is your spouse and living in the same house), and there are people who can testify to that effect, the court considers you married. You needn't have a certificate, photos, nothing. But legality is not an issue here. It's about what the people involved, viz RK and Madhu, think...
