It was nearly 2 in the morning. There was a still silence as he came face to face with the girl again. She tightly held onto a shoulder bag and was looking everywhere except directly into his eyes. She looked so fragile, yet was so stubborn with her decision to not go with him. But, how could he blame her ' she barely knew him, other than for their 5 minute encounter back at the shed.
Nevertheless, he was beginning to get frustrated. He wanted to leave because he knew he was going to be in deep trouble with his brother but didn't have the heart to leave the girl alone at the railway station. "Fine! Get lost! See if I care!! Some men will come and mob you n then you will know!!" He spat out in a fake angry tone. She glanced up at him - she didn't forget the state she was in before he had appeared.
Sameer smirked and began to slowly walk away. He knew he had her attention now. "Wwaaitt" she said in a faint voice. This was the first time she spoke up. "Can I still come with you?" She asked in an uncertain mumble. Sameer turned out n nodded his head and motioned her to follow him.
Girl's POV
They walked a few blocks in silence before Sameer started off with a list of things she should know if she was going to stay at the house. She nodded her head in approval of everything he said. His determined voice came to a halt as soon as they reached the front door of a house. The mumbling voice of someone from inside the house brought a serious frown upon his smiling face. His panicked state was clearly visible. The sudden changes in his expression made me crack a smile; it had been months since I had consciously smiled.
I didn't know why I was following him. Somewhere down in my heart, there was a tingle of feeling that told me to trust him. "Trust" ' it was a feeling that lead to my downfall. "Ahem, Ahem" the sudden icy cough bought me out of my thoughts. I looked up into a pair of golden-brown eyes that spoke volume. He had his eyes narrowed, as he observed me - the look was intense, that unconsciously I lowered my sight.
"Bhaiyya..umm...Bhaiyya..ttthiis iss...tthiisss" Sameer motioned me to speak up as I had not told him my name yet. "Ddaamini" I said in a voice that was way below any human's acoustic level. "What's your name?" His brother asked sternly. "Damini" I said more determined hearing his voice. He looked at Sameer and then started to walk up the stairs, without giving a response taking his built up ego with him. He stopped halfway as if he forgot something and said "Sameer, first take her to the guest room n make sure she get something to eat."
To continue....😊
