Hi all. This is a clarification that I wanted to make and since the topic was closed I had to start a new topic. I feel it is my responsibility since I am the person who started the Gaurav fan club. 😊
This clarification is meant in the most peaceful spirit possible and is not intended as a fight, only as an explanation. First of all, I'm sorry that your feelings were hurt, I know jojo never intended that.
Well, everything in life has a context and if you do not know the context, you may misunderstand the tone. At the Gaurav chopraa fan club, there are two kinds of members. There are those who come and go and then there is this core group, which has been around for a long time, where the members know each other very well and who have interacted with Gaurav for quite some time now.
If you read all the posts there, you will realize that while we once in a while make fun of other people, the no.1 target of our sense of humour is our own self. We are always making fun of ourselves and each other. For eg., it was Gaurav's bday some time ago and we got all excited about it, in fact started preparing a month before his bday. I'm sure you do the same for Rajeev, in fact, shaayad ek mahine pehle se hi you start preparing. If you see a post that was written yesterday, you'll see it says 'and who has started preparing… his next bday is just 11 months away' 😆 😆… yahaan who are we making fun of?... ourselves.
After ourselves, the next target of our humour is Gaurav… if you read the posts there, you will realize that we have made fun of his reciting Kabhi Kabhi in the saas, bahu aur saazish episode and of his newly acquired tan. If you go to the 1st fan club and to the now archived Aisa Des Hai Mera forum, you'll see more examples of this.
You will wonder: 'yeh kaisa fan club hai jo usiki hansi udaate hai jiske naam ka fan club khola hai?'... well, there are two reasons for this 1) the kind of people we are and 2) the kind of person that Gaurav is.
We (the core group) are all very naughty people… with a very mischievous sense of humour. In fact, I usually begin my posts saying 'Mere khurafati dimaag ko lagta hai ki'… at the same time, we're very close to one another… we're a close knit group and we do not fight with other people, we live together in peace and lots of humour. 😊
Of course, hamari yeh naughty side iss extent tak nahi ubharti if Gaurav had been a different person. But since he became a member of IF we have been interacting with him. And since we are a smaller group we have come to know him well and he has come to know most of us individually. See we cannot claim that we know him really well because after all, how much can you know someone over the net? But our relationship with him is slightly beyond the star-fan relationship. For eg., when Gaurav did not come online for a long time, superbike (Teena) wrote a message that said 'you live in bombay too na?... can you look for my friend? He's disappeared. His name is Gaurav chopraa' to which Gaurav replied 'I too am looking for him… he's nowhere to be found'. 😆 😆 That is the kind of mazakia, informal and easy relationship that we share with him. He reads our posts and frequently leaves comments and opinions. Of course, not everyone shares this kind of relationship, but the core group does.
I am not trying to justify what was written. All I am saying is that because you do not know the tone of the fan club, something which was not intended as offensive has seemed more offensive, almost an attack. And it was never meant like that. As I said earlier, we did not mean to offend or attack. From now on, we'll restrict our fun, our mazaak, our velapanti (we have various names for it) to ourselves and to Gaurav only. This sense of fun pervades our entire fan club. For eg., all of that writing about finishing 150 pages is a mazzak. Its not jealousy, its more like 'haan ab yeh bhi karte hai jeevan mein', said sarcastically to ourselves. So again here the joke is about us.
All of us are very excited about lrl and do want to participate. Its just that some of us do not get SAB tv. And the others are still trying to understand the story and the characters. For eg., I still do not know who Neelu is. And I feel I cannot comment on the Rajeev Naina angle because I have not seen season 1. But as soon as we understand the plot, we'll start participating enthusiastically.
As for Rajeev, I strongly feel that he is truly blessed to get such amazing fans. And I think it is very nice of him to send such sweet answers to your mails. In fact, if you had continued reading the fan club, you would have seen that we were mock-scolding Gaurav 'dekho Rajeev aur Kunal kitne lambe mails bhejte hai apne fans ko…. Hum jaa rahe hai… hume nahi banana tumhaara fan… we're switching loyalties' 😆 😆 … and a new member of the fan club was very surprised… and we had to explain to her that we were just joking, that we may become fans of other people but we'll continue being fans of Gaurav.
In fact, like all responsible fans, which you are too, when Gaurav's shows are on air, we extensively analyse his acting, his expressions, his body language, his choice of apparel etc… we have written long posts in the aisa des hai mera forum discussing scenes, dialogues, giving our feedback on his acting and offering our critical and unbiased opinion. But when he shows are off air, we go back to our hansi mazzak and Gaurav joins in because he fits right in.
He will not mind because we've blown his mind away! The last line was a joke too… Gaurav's fav adjective is 'mindblowing'… if he likes a post, he'll call it mindblowing… isiliye we keep saying that we as fans have blown his mind away.
So here's to a long and 'mindblowing' relationship between Rajeevians and fans of Gaurav…. Mujhe Rajeev ka fav. adj nahi pata, warna woh bhi yahaan likh deti… Rajeevians help me out, tell me more about your fav and i'll tell you about mine 😊…. Here's to friendship and to a long and successful 2nd season of lrl!
