Bow down to Queen Bandra!

Actor Eijaz Khan talks about his love affair with the idyllic suburb of Bandra

The first time that I moved into a house of my own was after I finished college. I tried living in Andheri for a bit but that place scares me. I have been travelling to Bandra all my life for dance rehearsals or partying with friends"so I now call this beautiful suburb my home"Queen Bandra!

The biggest advantage of Bandra for me is the sea at Carter's and Bandstand. After a long day, you can just breathe out the anxiety and stress. Everything that you need to pamper yourself, from shops and restaurants to pubs and spas, is close by. More often than not, you will find me walking or cycling in this area; which also brings me to the cons of Bandra"the traffic, haphazard development and slums that overflow on the road. I know that it all sounds like most of the suburban problems anyway. But I wouldn't want to live anywhere else because Bandra has a wonderful mix of Mumbai, which is eclectic and cosmopolitan.

Bandra has a life of its own; it looks like a complete town in itself, which is much different from South Mumbai or areas like Andheri and Malad. The St. Andrews Church and the Mount Mary Church are amazing and one feels positive vibes emanating from the area.
The Gaiety-Galaxy multiplex is an old one but it is still fun to watch movies there. The Rangsharda auditorium is also a good venue for plays. The chaat and pani puri at Elco Market are mouth-watering. The Hearsch Bakery at Hill Road serves fresh vegetable burgers, non-veg snacks and dry plum cake. The road side market is good for shopping. Good Luck Cafe, an ancient Irani cafe near Mehboob Studio serves awesome Haleem, especially on a Sunday, and I just love their tea.
People here are warm yet chilled out. In the night time, the vibes of Bandra are different; people enjoy their life to the hilt. I wouldn't want to move out of Bandra ever. This suburb is the heart of Mumbai and my heart pretty much lies here.

I'll always love LAT for introducing me to this fine actor. He is perfection as ACP Kabir. He was also awesome as Vikrant Suryavanshi in PunarVivah 2. I can't decide who I love more.

Which character of his do you guys love the most?
