LTL Written Update

Episode ~83

21st April 2010

Episode picks up from the point where Kishore tells Dutta that Anay and Anay's mother were his whole world... and that soon this situation will happen in Bhau's life too , that day is not far when an Anay or pari will enter your life! he says in jest to Dutta and gives him a gentle box on his arm , which Dutta dislikes with a scowl but then smiles as this is Kishore his Bil. Anay suddenly turns up and sits between Dutta and Kishore and moans to his father, don't want a battery run car , I want a real big car.. Kishore pulls him on his lap and explains ,when you grow up then you'll get a big car . Anay accepts and says, then I'll tell mamma to teach me how to drive .. Dutta smiles and says, definitely and afterwards will you take your mamma for a ride? Anay replies yes, and Dutta chuckles and pats the boys cheek.. Kishore then says firmly ,ok you've had enough play let's look at your books for half n' hour. He tells Dutta, I'll see you later and tells his son you go and wait there till I get your books. Dutta on his own watches a father tending to his son.. and dreams of a similar situation in his life..

Kala's room

The evil trio congregate in their favourite hiding place Kala's room. Roops protests , Tai if there's no wedding night taking place! then what's was the point of taking so much pain to decorate the room? Kala emerges from behind Leela.

Down the corridor comes Kishore towards his and Kala's room with a view to collect his son's books.

Kala replies to Roops question, there is a point to the bridal room! that bridal bed will stay in Bhau 's mind forever! and he'll never dare to touch a woman for the rest of his life! he'll only earn money ! and put it before his sisters feet! Kishore is horrified to hear such words and thoughts out of Kala's mouth. Kala continues, I want to proclaim to all the sisters of the world that if you don't want to lose your brother to his wife, then don't let him get to her in the first place! that way your brother belongs to you and will also dance to your tunes! Leela smiles approvingly and says , Tai not just to your tunes only, but to ours as well! isn't that so Roops? who replies , of course Tai! and Kala suddenly spots Kishore in the doorway , a disgusted listener to their complete conversation. Her sisters too notice and face Kishore's fuming face. Kala nods to her sisters to vacate the room , before they do. Kishore rumbles, this I was aware of that you play with Bhau's sentiments , but didn't know that your game has become so filthy!

Once the other two leave Kishore walks towards Kala and confronts her angrily .. Kala scoffs at him , why are you annoyed? Kishore I can't understand if you are really naive or are you just pretending to be naive ? just think, the whole world dances to his tunes! if he dances to my tunes only! than life will have a different meaning. Kishore repulsed by her thoughts walks away in disdain and grinds in anger, in your previous life you must have done some good deed that you have a brother like Dutta ! and your brother in his previous life must have committed some sin ! for him to have a sister like you!.. that brother who is ready to sacrifice his life for your happiness! you want to make him useless! and dance like a puppet to your tunes! Whose heart do you have a scorpion's! or a snake's!! ahhh I am even abusing them! for they only sting when someone steps on them! but you are worse than them! I had hoped that you would change! But women like you never change! he yells. Kala shouts in his face, really! so what are going to do about it? what'll you do? Kishore threatens, I will not remain silent now! I will tell Bhau what you're real character is.! I can't hide the truth from him any longer! I'll tell him everything! and he almost runs from the room.

Kala looks on in horror.. she needs to stop him! she runs after him, Kishore ! Kishore !what are you going to do? he continues to move on, and yells, I'll tell him the truth about you! today I am not frightened of your threats! Kala yells don't interfere in my affairs! you don't know what I can do! and he yells back , what? you'll take off the mangalsutra? Break our relationship? that doesn't exist in the first place! but I won't let this evil deed happen! I consider him to be my brother! I won't allow you to destroy his life! and he turns to go and she grabs his arm, Kishore I am doing all this for us! for my child! he clasps his palms before her and says, no don't do it for the sake of our child! and storms off! and she stands thinking about her next step.. she looks around helplessly..

Kala hears her son Anay calling for his father... and she has an idea. She calls him sweetly to her... and asks him are you looking for your father ?he says yes.. she tells him he's gone down and suggests that why not today lets him and her play. She takes him by the hand and turns the corner..

Downstairs in the hall decorations are taking place , Dutta sits and looks at his work. His mother is surpised to see him working there.. he says this is the only place where he can work in.. he adds, looks like I can only have peace and quiet after marriage. His mother is pleased to see him smile.

Kishore comes down to speak to Dutta and says... in private.. Dutta 's mother says, go speak to Kishore may be its man to man talk. They go to the side of the lounge. Kishore says , what he is about Dutta , he may hard to believe.. before he could say anything further..

Kala screams, Anay ! Anay! and all look up to see Anay swinging off the landing balcony with Kala hanging on to his hand from the landing! .. Kala shouts Bhau save my son! all are in shock most of all Kishore who keeps looking at Kala giving her signs he won't say anything to Bhau!

Dutta runs up the stairs and pulls up Anay and calms the weeping mother and son. Kala thanks Bhau and says she would have died if something would have happened to her son.. Dutta carries the crying boy down.. his shaken father takes him in an embrace .and looks up very shaken into Kala 's eyes which threaten Kishore openly don't you dare.

People ask for an explanation. Kala says she was playing with Anay , he leaned over the balcony and she went forward to catch him , her foot slipped and he accidently slipped down the railing! Funnily enough every one finds her story credible , as she was sure they will.

Once settled, Dutta asks Kishore, what were you about to tell me that would surprise me? Kishore says it's nothing really.. with Anay's incident it's gone out of my mind.. if I recall I'll surely tell you.. he says to Dutta , visibly shaken by Kala's act... Dutta nods and leaves the family.Anay whimpers very shaken and hugs his father , Kala pulls him to her side and Kishore pulls Anay back to him and glares at her, such an evil witch you are! don't even spare your own child! who are you a mother? or some kind of a witch! she tells him to lower his voice and says calmly, whoever comes in my way will have the same fate, whether it's my child! my husband ! or even my beloved Bhau! for me relationships have no significance ! only one relationship matters to me , that of wealth and me! understand? just a sign is enough for the wise..and you are more intelligent than necessary .. so get lost! Kishore hugs his son and goes to his room.. Kala watches them leave and muses, maybe he too thinks that I can never let go off my son's hand .. for you the warning of what I am capable of is enough. ..isn't that so Kishore?

Babi oversees preparations being made for Dutta and his would be wife to distribute charity and donations to the needy. Aye Sahib worries about last minute arrangements and tells Babi that she wants her son to blessed by as many people as possible.. so before the guests arrive, the needy will be given donations. Babi tells Aye Sahib, to relax everything is under control. Naku has her platter of bundles of cash ready..

The public is bursting to come in. Babi brings them in and gets them filed up in a queue and says, make sure you give lots of blessings to Bhau! Baji brings Dutta and Supriya , down the stairs. Dutta and Supriya stand before the people in the queue . Aye Sahib smiles and says, Look Dutta you have our blessings upon you all the time, but today you need to fulfil all these peoples wishes, there is great power both in the blessing and a curse of the poor. She reminds the people to bless the couple .. Dutta , Supriya stand side by side and Naku stands beside Supriya with the bundles on money. People start to come forward to receive a piece of clothing and money.. Aye sahib says, oh god! may our son's wedding ceremony have a good beginning with lots of blessings. One woman blesses him , may god bless you with a handsome son. All giggle at the blessing.

Then an old woman dressed in a sari , her hair in a dishevelled state stands and stares at Dutta who offers her a sari pack with money on it.. she raises her hands forward and then drops the gift on the floor. All look in shock.. Dutta thinks it's his mistake and bends to pick up the sari and the money.. she sneers at him will you buy blessings with your money Dutta ?have you become so big.? She glares at him and he looks into her eyes.. troubled.. all around are shocked by her words.. episode ends Hamlet53~ 20.12. 13.

Precap: making donations ! will not lessen your burden of sins.

This was an episode with glimpses of shock treatment.

The most glaring one has to Kala's sick incident of actually physically, and emotionally abusing her child publicly for the sake of manipulating her husband. In short the woman abuses her child for the sake of monetary assets. It seems her paranoia with possessing wealth is becoming from bad to worse.. she uses some chilling words in the episode..

It's also sad the episode, as it spells of gloom and utter helplessness for Kishore .. only in the last episode he talks about the differences between two people in a marriage that makes up it's essence .. here he has a very sick wife.. Kishore should have her treated..

As for Kala.. it's true if one can't distinguish between vice and virtue , then how can they understand the truth about Kalavati. Patil Nivas is full of fools!

The second shock happens at the end of the episode.. Dutta being cursed!

LTL Written Update

Episode ~84

22nd April 2010

The episode picks up from the point where the old woman dressed in a black sari , hair in a dishevelled state stands and stares madly at Dutta, who offers her a sari pack with money on it.. she raises her hands forward and then drops the gift on the floor. All look in shock at this sign. Dutta thinks it's his mistake and bends to pick up the sari and the money, but as he begins to straighten up.. she sneers at him, so you think you can buy blessings with your money Dutta ? since when have you become so big.? by big here she means, as powerful as god.. She glares at him and he looks into her eyes, with a creased brow. All around are shocked by the odd woman's bold words and authority. She looks up him and shouts, may my hands burn! if I accept this gift from your hands! Dutta turns to look at Baji's face who himself looks puzzled. Supriya gives a sarcastic smile. Dutta stands facing the woman, who looks down at Dutta's clasped hands , that he respectfully holds before him.. look! look! how much blood can be seen on his hands! she cries. Dutta lowers his eyes and checks his crossed palms , his nostrils flare. Aye Sahib pulls her pallu to her mouth, and Supriya listens with interest and rolls her eyes wondering what's going on?. Naku and Babi too are upset by the woman's words.

People in the line begin to whisper, and the woman turns to them and screams hysterically, all of you will go to hell! if you accept charity from his hands! Dutta looks down upon her calmly.. as she cries uncontrollably! and then she suddenly raises her palms and goes for his throat , but he swiftly grabs both her wrists! and she struggles as all watch in horror! Baji screams at the BG 's to get hold of her! and she is pulled away from Dutta but she screams! may your house burn down! may you never have a child's cradle in your home! Dutta raises his palm , and signals the BG's to let her go! she stops her struggle and laughs like a manic at Dutta. Humbly and gently he asks her what is it mausi ? have I done something to grieve you? she comes towards him accusingly, areee! you destroy other people's house! to build your own! you can't wash away your sins ! by giving donations and doing charitable acts! I spit on your money! and she spits on the floor for all public to see what she thinks of the great Dutta Bhau! she screams out this is all blood money! who so ever touches this will have darkness in their home there after! and Dutta ! this is a mothers curse! that the light of happiness will be snuffed out in your house before morning comes !

AyeSahib, Naku, Supriya's mother all are in horror struck after hearing the woman's curses. Dutta meets his upset mother's eyes.. and Supriya has a look of quiet delight as she hears Dutta being cursed.. the woman points to Dutta , this is a mothers curse! remember that! how many women you have turned into widows! and now! you plan to make her your wife! listen to me girl.. runaway! Dutta hears.. and Baji screams at the old woman , hey! but she warns Supriya , don't marry this demon! you'll be cursed by me! you'll stay barren! remember that! remember Dutta! a cradle will never rock in your home! you'll never hear the giggles of a child! you'll crave for the love of your child Dutta! and your house will have the blight of hatred! This is my curse! remember this Dutta! just remember!.. Baji shouts, ayeee mother! that's enough of your theatrics! hey ! get her out! Dutta raises his palm, wait Baji! today is a good day for us, it's my wedding day.. let her go! the woman cackles and raises her finger at him... remember ! remember.. Dutta folds his palms at her and says, mausi if unknowingly I have hurt you , then please forgive me. Scoffing at him, she turns away to leave free, laughing and cackling all the way to the entrance. Dutta, Baji hear her leave crying and laughing. All are horrified , Dutta turns to look at Supriya who gives him a dead pan look. He turns and leaves.. as he begins to climb the main stair case. Naku watches him going up. People stand terribly shaken, one man in the line remarks, this is not a good sign. Aye Sahib moves towards Supriya and says, lovingly, don't be frightened my child, spoken curses do not matter, there are thousands whose lives Dutta has improved, and their blessings are with us... and the ceremony ends.. on a very disturbing note.

Out house

Naku's dusky hands, fixes her mang tika and feel the pendant he gave her. She looks and smiles at her reflection.. a decked up Naku .. she has a glow of happiness on her face, happiness for him... she muses about him how much pain Saab has born ,but now that'll end, as from today, Saab starts his life a new and I am delighted for him.. she says with a smile. Happily and slowly she covers her head with her ornate red chunni and gazes smilingly at her reflection . Babi comes in and is overcome to see her daughter all dressed up sitting before the dresser... in her yellow and red outfit. Babi calls out Naku! and in disbelief goes to her daughter and stands behind her. .. you look so pretty really!.. Aye Sahib has given us such beautiful clothes , jewellery , they are such nice people! every one gave us something, Bhau gave you something as well didn't he? she asks excited . Naku nods and shows her mother the sparkling yellow pendant he gave her. Babi loves it and feels her daughters face with motherly pride , and says , you may be dusky , but in these clothes you look stunning! Beautiful ! it's my heart's desire that you too find someone who will love you.. and Naku lowers her eyes. Babi continues, you'll see the day you find someone who loves you, with my own hands I will remove this dark colour from your face! with mine own hands! I'll purify you with turmeric and bring out your radiance! then you'll see how much more he'll love you! he'll keep you like as a queen in his house... Babi blows a kiss at her daughter, and says, I am very happy with you that you have concealed your love for Dutta within you! you are so involved in all the wedding preparations, Aye Sahib never tires of constantly calling for you! because of you Bhau's life is starting anew! you'll get every one's blessings my child! cries out Babi filled with maternal pride. Naku suddenly turns to leave and her mother yells , eyeee ! where are you going? Naku says, some work is left , I am going! and Naku leaves, but Babi yells, you'll have someone too in your life who'll love you! and he'll whisk you away from here! and that day I'll not cry tears of sadness but tears of joy! cries Babi ,and taps her head , I must be going mad.. again ironical words.. very soon Babi will cry tears of sorrow .. when misfortune befalls Naku!

Dutta 's den

Her words, her voice , haunt him and he paces troubled... areee! after destroying other homes! you are going to set up your own home! I spit on your money! this is a mother's curse! in your home the light of happiness will snuff out by tomorrow! Remember Dutta! your home will never rock the cradle! you'll never hear the giggles of a child! you'll crave for a child! look at the blood on his hands! Dutta raises his palms and looks at them.

Slowly the door opens..and Naku enters. She sees his back.. he looks at both his raised palms. She smiles calmly and calls out , Saab ... he turns and with interest he looks from the bottom upwards all the way to her smiling face and his lips curl up in a smile.. Naku is this you?.. she giggles.. and comes forward to him and says, you're not ready yet? I'll get your clothes out right away! he stops her, wait ! one minute.. he walks towards her, let me take a look at you.. where did you hide this face humm? you look nice.. I'll tell Baji to take your photograph.. she giggles , and he carries on, I'll put it in my wedding album, and I'll write above it my best friend..because of whom I agreed to get married.. Naku smiles with happiness... and reminds him , you worry about yourself now, the bride must be ready by now, and you are not even ready ! come on Saab hurry up and get ready! and he sides his face and replies, yes I was about to go and get ready.. Naku consoles him, I know that woman said a lot.. that's why you are sad , but can I say something there are many hands that bless you! so you forget what ever that woman said. Dutta turns his face from her, with and with arms folded across his chest he walks away from her.. and wide eyed she watches her. He admits, I know Naku , and I also know such is my life that somewhere, somehow the innocent will die at my hands.. if hands raised in prayer seem good, then the hand lifted up in curse.. too have to be tolerated... that's why I don't think too deeply. She moves to face him, and says, Saab you can't even lie properly. He doubles his chin, and then turns his head towards her slowly.. and then his whole body turns to face her, and looks down into her big bold eyes and says, how? How can you read my mind with such ease Naku? she smiles and replies , now I don't have to worry about you anymore, Supriya Tai is coming, as your life partner, she'll share your joys and sorrows! and I have to go Saab! you get ready fast! and before he can dismiss her Naku leaves and he raises his eyes upwards , as he thinks about his future.

Wedding Day

Guests mingle. Aye Sahib asks Kala ,are Dutta and Supriya ready yet or not? Kala says, yes they are getting ready.. and Naku looks around and then moves away..and collides with Babi, gives her the tray and tells her mother, you hold on to this , I'll be back in a second! Kala watches her leave and she smirks, for some fools one doesn't even need to setup a trap but they still get caught .. Kala moves and her younger sisters smile knowingly...and follow their older sister.

Supriya sits before the mirror, dressed in red. Naku opens her door and enters. Naku nears Supriya 's back and watches her reflection.Tai you're still not ready?she says to Supriya who faces her...Tai the guests have arrived ,and Aye Sahib is waiting for you..quickly get ready .The evil trio arrive! Kala says, vahini, today you must be very happy !at last your dream has come true.. you'll start your life with your prince charming .. Supriya says, yes. The evil trio smile. Supriya, says meaningfully, in this house I learnt to dream and have hope..she looks around and says, I'll never forget.. never forget.. the favours granted to me by this house.The evil trio smile.Naku wonders what favours Supriya talks about?.. episode ends on Naku's face. Precap : will I be able to escape from here?.. Kala replies, Kala doesn't lose twice.. but first ,you too have to do a small job for me...

What an episode..full of ripples, waves, and irony, double meanings, and implications..

Lovely scene between Naku and Babi.. Babi's words ring a bell.. of contrariety..

Certain irony in Babi's words as Naku will get married shortly without the ritual of haldi! and Naku's true face will pose one problem after another in Naku's life..

Then comes the old woman's scene , that which sends shivers through the spine.

The significance of curses and blessings is brought out vividly in this and the previous episode. Across the world within many cultures, there lies a deep rooted belief with in societies, that curses and blessings upon individuals have an unexplained bearing on their lives. Along side with this, comes the belief which world faiths transmit that good deeds allow an individual a quota of blessings in their life on earth. Whereas bad deeds heap a cursed existence upon an individual.

The old woman in the black sari.. when I saw her.. and heard her, seemed to me, Dutta's conscience that confronts him on a marked occasion of his life.she stands for his past atrocities that he has committed and continues to still do so.. she may be a wakeup call for him to change the course of history for himself.. to mend his ways..

On the other hand , she may well be, some one that Kala has planted to forecast what it is about to happen very soon in Dutta's life. Supriya's expressions are a dead give away that Kala might have orchestrated all this to malign and humiliate Dutta publicly.. for some of the things that the woman says, like Dutta will remain childless, and telling Supriya to runaway! are things that are Kala 's mindset..

Whichever we look at it.. the intention is to cause Dutta pain which certainly seems achieved. Now this shows Kala may have her hand in this one.

So by all means draw your own conclusions to the reason of this strange woman's inclusion in the episode.. she certainly has me baffled.. a lot she says about blood on hands.. is something that Dutta has talked to Naku about in a previous mangalsutra episode, which makes me wonder if she is an apparition of his past life..i.e his conscience... Hamlet53 .
