Episode ~35

Patil Nivas

First floor

Its night fall. Leela paces the top corridor impatiently and Roops too appears restless as she maintains a lookout. Leela whinges, where is Tai ?,Roops whispers , how should I know? tell her she needs to hurry up! oh for goodness sake its taking so long , if she comes it'll foul up everything!... Supriya turns up in the corridor and Leela asks her nervously, oh Supriya , you seen the house have you? I am sure you like it ? and did you see the swing down stairs? you can sit on it and watch the moon did you try that?.. Leela then grabs her dupatta , Supriya! is it new..? Leela tries to occupy her as much as she can.. stop her from going into the guest room. Kala meanwhile in the guest room closes the curtains , while Roops alerts her , hurry on Tai! but Supriya comes into the room anyway! and both her and Kala look at each other.

Kala gives her a big smile and informs, I was closing the windows, at night we have to , please come and she points to the bed, come and rest, and I have turned on the AC on for you also.. and Kala turns it on with a remote control.. now you can sleep peacefully. Supriya , hesitantly says , no.. I don't really want the AC, I feel cold.. Kala and Leela are not impressed by her response, but Roops adds on, so cute Tai! they probably don't have an AC in their home, they use a table fan! Supriya says, there's a nice breeze blowing outside, I'll open the windows.. but Kala stops her from going to the windows, no windows are ever left open in Bhau's house! when a shot is fired no one can tell! warns Kala. Supriya looks shocked and helpless, as Kala continues, this world is an evil place vahini, there's no goodness left, Dutta cannot sleep without AC, so you better get into the habit too! she suggests slyly... as her sisters smile on craftily... Kala leads her to the bed , come now.. and throws the AC control on the bed and the three leave Supriya to it , but Kala stops at the door and looks back and says, oh yes bolt the door from the inside vahini ji .. good night.. and the evil trio leave.. Supriya goes towards the door and bolts it from the inside..

The trio, look on to see if she has locked her door , and then they stand in the top corridor. Leela asks Kala , what were you talking about the AC inside?!let her die in the heat, what does it matter to us!. Kala narrows her eyes and glares at her sister and shows her a small narrow red canister.. Roops says, so cute! is it a body deodorant ? Kala tells her off, why do you see cuteness in everything? stupid girl!.. Kala holds it in her fingers, and says with an evil glint, this is poison! poison! and I have put it in the AC vent ..as soon as morning approaches , that Supriya will be like a dead cockroach!.. Leela giggles with glee , oh Tai you're great! and Kala full of herself says, one who doesn't understand good or evil ? how can they understand Kalavati...

Ground floor

Naku walks around the lower section of the house..I did wonder, she is odd , she seems a bit of a Dutta's stalker , as I assumed she will be definitely be gazing up at his room.. but its later on that I realize.. that her walkabout is purpose driven.. no... not checking up on Dutta..

First Floor

The three sisters walk together, and Kala proclaims ,smoke! smoke! poison.. poison! My sweet brother's love will sleep so deeply that no one will be able to wake her from her slumber! how sad.. how can they wake her up? no one will know..

Kala suddenly realizes! Leela is there a smoke alarm in the guest room?.. yes Tai that's why I never smoked in there.. Kala looks worried, how can I make such a mistake! I forget to turn off the smoke alarm.. come with me .. and the three head off together.. to the main switch board..

Really colours had their facts mixed up.. there was no fire.. Supriya was meant to die with poisonous carbon monoxide fumes.. for that there is a carbon monoxide detector not a smoke alarm!.. which can be turned off manually.. this scene has been mixed up with fire.. and carbon monoxide fumes..

Naku meanwhile is still walking round the lower section of the house .. she then starts to climb the winding stair case towards the first floor of the house..she walks through the long corridor that has the sleeping area of the family. The sisters meanwhile make there way downstairs from the top floor to the ground floor.

They go to the electric fuse box of the house.. Kala baffled asks her sisters , which one would be the smoke alarm switch..?none of them know! and all three look in panic

Naku meanwhile walks past Supriya's room..

Inside Supriya's room carbon monoxide fumes begin to omit out of the air con vent.. and gradually the girl begans to smell it and very soon.. Naku stands outside her door , unfolding the letter from her chunni.. so now it is known why Naku lurks around.. to deliver the letter..

The sisters continue to get confused about the switch! Roops suggests, shall I sound the alarm , so cute! and Kala tells her off, stop your stupidity!

Supriya has breathing difficulties and she starts to have a choking, coughing fit!

Naku calls for Supriya after she hears her coughing.. so she can give the letter.. Tai! she calls before a closed door. Supriya sits up in bed with a start and coughs and coughs! and then struggles out of bed hyperventilating ,gasping and coughing..

Kala tells Roops to press a switch, but much to their horror Roops spots Naku outside Supriya's closed door.. and shouts , Tai where did this witch come from! and Kala turns her face from the fuse switchboard to look upto where Naku stood..outside Supriya's room!

Naku turns to go , seeing that Supriya does not open the door..

Supriya gasps for breath stands up but in her instability she knocks a bulky decoration piece to the floor that makes a loud noise.. loud enough for Naku to hear.

In all panic Roops presses the security alarm by mistake!

Naku yells Supriya Tai !and bangs on the door urging her to open it. Supriya knees give way! and Naku bangs on her door continuously open the door Supriya Tai!. but the poor woman gasps for breath.

Dutta lying on his back in bed.. opens his eyes suddenly, throws his bed cover , sits up! looks round still half asleep..Naku bangs on Supriya's door! open the door Supriya Tai ! Supriya hyperventilates. Kala near the switchboard, orders her sisters, go! and sit in your rooms! till there's no noise ! don't come out!

Dutta reaches out for his gun under his pillow, holds it up with a scowl on his face!

Naku calls out, Tai open the door! Dutta with gun held up in his hand comes out of his room.

Kala comes around the corner to check out if the coast is clear.. her other sisters too peep over her surreptitiously ..

Naku shouts out, anybody there! ..Kala and sisters run to their rooms. Supriya coughs in her room , full of carbon monoxide fumes... She struggles to reach the foot of her bed but finally collapses on the floor...

The sisters enter their room in a rush! Dutta poised with his gun , dressed in white kurta pyjama leaves his room and rushes past the balcony area and comes gliding down the stairs, aiming his gun left and right .. his sisters watch him hidden behind a wooden pillar as Dutta moves forward angrily points his gun in all directions!

The sisters run to see what's happening with Supriya..

Naku keeps up with yelling ...Tai open the door! ... but Supriya moans, and is knocked out of her senses on the floor..

Dutta ,gun pointed scales the winding stair case swiftly , as Naku continues with cries of Tai open the door! She turns her back to the door !

Dutta reaches the first floor corridor and points his gun right then left as he slowly moves his body forward carefully ..he lowers his arms and pushes his shoulder to check other rooms that run off the top corridor..

Finally Naku sees him come across down the corridor ,he too sees Naku outside the guest room and she reports, ohh Supriya Tai , he moves her aside and tries to open the door.. and realizes its clearly bolted from the inside. He pushes his sided body against the door , and it joggles but remains shut..

Down stairs in the man hall Baji , shoving his gun behind his back yells at the BG's.. hurry up!

Dutta meanwhile folds his leg and thrusts his foot forcefully against the door! once! twice, his lips pulled down to the sides..

Baji , followed by BG's, scales up the winding stair case. Runs down the corridor , and finds Dutta and Naku near the guest room, Naku shouts, open the door Supriya Tai!. Baji offers to open the door and Dutta moves him aside and continues to ram his foot into the door. Finally with one final thrust of his foot the door opens!

Dutta enters the fume filled room his eyes shifting carefully ,his gun pointed for any movement..he enters the room completely followed by Baji , Naku and the BG's ..

Supriya coughs! and Dutta points his gun down to a figure on the floor amongst the smoke and he slants his head as his eyes flash!

Naku, Baji look horrified at the figure on the floor. Dutta is shocked to see Supriya in this state , as are Baji and Naku. He turns to Baji , Baji take the gun! and he kneels beside Supriya , calling out , Supriya! he looks up and around and waves off the smoke with his hand and asks, what's happening here?.. Supriya! Supriya! he tries to revive her , as Naku too coughs, Baji says , Bhau! vahini is unconscious!.. Dutta lifts her head up and scoops her up in his arms.. leaves the room and carries her down the corridor in his arms wearing a dazed scowl.. Baji , Naku and the BG's follow Dutta carrying Supriya down the main staircase..

Ganpat and Babi , too enter the hall. Aye Sahib , turns up at the railing on the main stair case. Kala and Kishore come running too, followed by Roops and Leela in a dressing gown. All assemble in the lounge area. Aye Sahib comes down the stairs and calls out , what's happening Dutta ?. Baji gets the one arm red reclining settee ready and Dutta quickly lays Supriya down... Aye Sahib says, put her down gently , hey how did this happen to her?. Dutta pulls an angry face and, shouts, doctor! Baji! check the guestroom!. Kishore offers , shall I phone the doctor?. Kala in panic says no! Dutta stares down at Supriya, and Kala continues, no I mean I'll call him... and Dutta glares at her as she gets up to phone the doctor. Supriya continues to cough , and as others watch, Kala much to her dismay has to phone the doctor... hello doctor , I am calling from Dutta Bhau's house , yes he is fine! its Supriya.. yes come quickly please.. Naku rubs the soles of Supriya's feet to give heat to her body.

Baji goes to check the guest room, and coughs as soon as he enters and covers his mouth and nose with his hanky. He looks around the room , at the bed, at the units , the walls , the lamp shade, all immersed in smoke and fumes... checks the curtains pulls them apart and opens the windows.. and coughs as a fresh bellow of fumes and smoke covers him then suddenly his eye falls on the AC vent...and he looks carefully , removes his hankie from his mouth and veers towards the vent.. and says , there's some problem with the AC.. and he manually turns the knob off... he gives off a chesty cough and looks around.. and says looks like this has been pre- planned... Bhau! Bhau! he shouts as he swiftly makes his way down stairs... comes to Dutta and whispers, Bhau someone has put something in the AC vent.. Dutta ponders, Supriya moves her head worried on the settee and looks at Kala.. Kala seems calm, Kishore looks at her accusingly, Roops and Leela have shifty eyes, Ganpat , Babi look concerned, Naku wonders.. and Aye Sahib looks perplexed, Baji seems angry.. Supriya with a tear down her cheek turns to look up at Dutta who wears a deep pensive scowl on his face... episode ends..

The episode marks the beginning of many implementations to come, where Kala's secret , intrigue, conspiracy takes shape. It also shows in the main , the start of the battle between good and evil. There will be from now on fighting on both fronts.. vice and virtue. There are characters in the battle who command and those who obey those commands. There are also those characters whose actions speak louder than words ,and those whose words speak louder than their actions... There are characters who fight the battles as a means to an end. Then there are those characters who fight the battle for what they believe in.. serve the other ,without expectation of reward..

Precap: Baji says ,Bhau , I think .. and Dutta says, that this is an insider job?.. Roops says.. Nakusha.. I saw her outside the room.. Dutta questions her, what were you doing there?..

Awesome update dear..Loved it so much.❤️..Its really a treat to read these updates with your footnote & views dear...Enjoyed it so much...Episode started off with Evil Trio & their stupid plan.😡.Errr..😡.I can't tolerate these 3 witches.😡(I've Eviltriophobia.😭)...Kala planned to kill Supriya..😡.She put poison in the AC vent.😲..Evil Woman..😡.hehehe...Twinky appreciates kala for managing her stupid dumb sisters..🤣.oh Roops!!🤣...She & her so cute dialogue..🤣.Kala get irritated by her dumb sisters.🤣..ahem..😉.Our writer ji has suspected innocent Naku..😉.yeah she just wanted to submit the letter to Supriya& she didn't check Dutta.😉😆..Kala forgot to turn off Smoke alarm😕...Smoke alarm??😕.There is no fire na.😕..The why did they worry about smoke alarm???..😕.Yeah Hammie😊!!...You're right.👍🏼.. The episode continues from the point when all are shook up with the incident that has befallen with Supriya, a guest in the house. Dutta is fuming at what Baji reports to him, that there was some substance giving off fumes from the air con vent in the guest room..

The wrath of Dutta Bhau resounds through the walls of Patil Nivas .. all present cower under his yells, at his unfortunate BGs. Gaekwad! what is going on here? were you all asleep! did you investigate or not?.. the BGs are speechless and Dutta shouts, Baji !why are these guys still standing here! Baji yells at them in turn, I'll see to them Bhau, oyee you search the house! oyee you check outside!. The sisters look perturbed. Baji further reports, Bhau the whole room was locked!. Aye Sahib complains baffled, will someone tell me what happened? The three sisters, look blank faced. Supriya continues to cough intermittently...then she in a croaky voice says, Aye Sahib , I went to sleep, suddenly the whole room was full of smoke.. and she coughs again.. I couldn't even breathe!..she chokes, gasps.. .Baji says, it was some dangerous toxic fumes, I covered my mouth too with a piece of cloth, when I went in to check the room, then went to turn off the AC.. Bhau! the fumes were coming from the AC! The window was shut!.. Kala looks pensive...as all look alarmed at Baji's report. Supriya turns her head to look at Kala who confidently without batting an eyelid discloses.. before Supriya could say much further which could put Kala in a precarious position .Kala with great panache, confesses , I told her Aye , I told Supriya to keep the windows closed! I was the one who turned on the AC for her, because Bhau has been attacked recently and hence none can be trusted..all present, especially the servants look at each other uncomfortably .. they are made to feel like possible suspects.. Kala cleverly continues her admission tearfully, I told Supriya that in our home, windows are never left open during the night.. please forgive me Supriya! on my account all this has happened to you.. Kala sobs. Dutta looks tenderly at his sister, as Kishore rolls his eyes at his wife's deviousness ..her art of turning the tables...here become evident Kala's previous words to Kishore , that Bhau will always buy the situation she presents before him.. Dutta clearly shows all how caring he is towards his older sister.. Unknowingly he shields her in all her underhand treachery. What's worse is that Kala knows his inability to differentiate between all that is and all that seems. Dutta walks over to Kala full of concern and comforts her, Tai it's not your fault, please don't cry whatever you did it was her own good...therein lies Dutta's clouded vision, much to Kala's advantageous. Kala plays on Dutta further, she weeps, no Bhau I did make a mistake.. Dutta melts by her remorse and feels the side of her face, and with intent eyes he says, I 've said to you don't cry.. and Aye too comforts Kala , child why are you crying has someone said anything to you?.. Leela and Roops exchange smirking glances..

Dutta after consoling his sister , changes back to his militant mood, Baji ! all the windows ,doors were locked! even a mouse from outside could not have entered the house? then how did this happen Baji?.. now this query of Dutta unhinges Kala and her sisters a tad.. others listening , to are forced to think how come?.. both men look at each other and Baji says ,Bhau I think that... and such is the bond and understanding between the two friends that Dutta not only knows what Baji thinks but also accepts what Baji was about to say.. yes you sense right Baji, seems like it's the handy work of someone from within the household..

The sisters and servants look alarmed. Seeing this Aye says in defence, now why would someone from within the house do such a thing? no son!... but Dutta cuts her forcefully .. but! Aye ! and Aye explains , no son ! this cannot be, all our servants have been with us since a long time, they are trustworthy! and no one from outside came into the house.

Roops begins to feel guilty and starts to crack down she tries to leave this questioning.. slyly.. but her mother notices...Roops ! what's the matter with you?.. all turn to look at her, Dutta concerned and Kala in panic mode, for she knows her youngest sister is giddy .. stupid as she calls her. Roop stops and with a queasy face looks at her mother, who says , why have you turned pale? are you not well?.. Roops stammers, umm, I feel giddy looking at vahini's condition!.. Kishore gives a sarcastic look , Supriya turns her head , touched by Roops concern. Kala , much preoccupied tries to act normal, and says to Roops concerned , you don't sound well Roops ,just sit down.. and take rest.. meaning just stay quiet! and Leela too reiterates this.. Leela sits her down gently, here sit down.. Dutta nods with approval .Then Kala starts her feigned act, Aye Sahib ,who can carry out such an act? There is no one new in our house.. with great communicative skills, Kala gives Roops the material needed to veer the blame on to Naku.. as there was evidence too , to support the suspicion. Roops says what Kala wanted.. there is!.. that Nakusha! Naku looks nonplussed; Babi is gobsmacked!; Aye Sahib muses, Leela delights,.. Dutta listens intently .. Roops continues, I saw her outside the guest room...Roops points to Naku. she was outside the room! Dutta , Baji ,Aye looked confused, as Naku shakes her head in panic. Kala gives a tongue in cheek expression. Kishore looks wide eyed..

Naku anxiously stands up , as Dutta with a frown moves towards her slowly and begins to pierce her with his eyes.. Naku looks up helplessly towards his approaching tall figure . He, walks behind her slowly then comes before her and faces her. He looks at her suspiciously.. what were you doing there? she looks into his piercing eyes with her innocent big bold eyes and her lips begin to quiver ..and then... Dutta simply asks, did you see anything? anyone there?.. she continues to hold his piercing gaze.. which makes him ask her farther.. look girl! answer my question?.. Naku mumbles.. ssaab! I didn't see anything.. this leaves her vulnerable , and a possible suspect , but she said it as it was.. Dutta possibly catches on to this.. and she draws courage to state the reason she was outside the guest room..a plausible explanation .. Dutta himself knew the truth about what Naku says.. she continues , I went to give this.. and she shows him the letter she held in her hands, peeping out of her chunni.. Baji puts his hand behind his head , as Naku nods before Dutta , and he turns his eyes towards Baji .. Dutta knew he was involved in this letter business, so he simply says, look you are flustered at the moment, after a little while , if you recall anything ,anything at all! you are to come and tell me straightaway!.. he looks at her frightened face, she nods and he lets her go!.. she goes and stands close to her mother... and Dutta turns to Baji , and commands for all to hear, Baji! explain to the guards, and explain it clearly! and if needs be explain this to them every single day! if anyone in my house , gets as much as a little scratch! so what Dutta Bhau will do! he bellows threateningly!.. from now on no one leaves! or enters the house without letting me know! he thunders! have you got that Baji! ? he then glares at Naku , Kala, Kishore , Roops, Leela , and Supriya .. showing them he means, his order is to be obeyed by all....these are actually all people so to speak close to him.. so when he said someone from within the household.. it seems he does not rule out his family..

After he delivers his orders he leaps up the stairs, Baji follows his Bhau to the first floor..

Leela helps Roops to get up and says , come let's go. Kala is struck dumb at the turn of events.. her plan to kill Supriya almost back fired on her, and her idea to get Naku implicated too was messed up ,in fact new set of rules on their comings and goings from the house was imposed on the three.

She watches, quietly as Aye Sahib and the maids fuss about the lying Supriya... whom the maids take up the stairs carefully on Aye Sahib's behest. Naku , Babi, and Ganpat look on..

In the outdoor garden the three congregate. Kala looks across to Naku and her family. It's obvious Kala is worried.. there is a question that niggles her.. did Naku see these three near the fuse box?

Kala with a movement of her palm beckons Naku towards the three of them... weary , Naku moves towards them, and her parents leave. Naku stands before them and they all stare down at her . Finally Leela asks, what were you doing outside Supriya's room?. Naku remains quiet, as they wait for her reply. Kala prods her, like Roopmati, said you were there, weren't you?.. look you don't open your mouth in front of Bhau ..but you can tell us..did you see any one? doing anything?. Naku studies their desperation ,it shows on their faces . She lowers her head and says , no. I did not see anyone. But Kala dissatisfied with her answer pries her .. but why did you come there then? . Naku lowers her eyes and replies, I went to do a job for Bhau . Leela emphasizes , a job for Bhau !, Kala glares at her sister... and Leela retorts, really?.. but Baji is around to do jobs for Bhau . Naku digs her heels in, it was work for Bhau ,beyond that I can't say more. Leela flashes her eyes at Naku, can't say more! you chit of a girl! trying be close Dutta Bhau's confidante! does he trust you that much?. Kala protests , please Leela .. of course he trusts her ,after all twice you saved his life.. look Naku, Bhau's life is in danger , both outside and now inside the house too, so if you doubt anyone.. you must inform me.. Kala says a with a gentle smile.. and then says sweetly.. go now. Naku bows her head to the three sisters and leaves... somewhat satisfied that she hadn't seen them the sisters leave..

Naku has shown that no matter what if told to ,she can maintain confidentiality...

Outhouse

Babi paces anxiously and Ganpat sits waits for Naku to arrive. Babi cries, she's here. Ganpat takes Naku by the arm and sits her down on the end of the bed, sit down! so late at night why did you go to the main house? what were you doing there? Ganpat yells , look Naku I don't want any trouble from you here! got that!. Babi intervenes , ey!don't glare at her! just go there and get to bed. Ganpat moans, yes going , but when there's trouble don't come to me.. like mother like daughter!

Babi now handles Naku , get up! pulls her by the arm and severely asks, what were you doing there?. Naku looks into her mother's eyes, do you think I have done something ? why would I do wrong?.. Babi says , I know Naku you will never do any low level thing you are my daughter ,but still , don't entertain any ideas about Bhau.. what were you doing there? tell me. Naku replies.. emm , I went to give some water .. but when I got there, I heard strange muffled noises.. so I knew something was wrong.. that's all Aye .Babi smiles at her daughter, and caresses Naku's face with her palms... and says I have full faith in you child! full faith, Naku these people are big shots , so be careful in your job, advises Babi.. come to bed, and Naku lies down and rests her head on the pillow .

Dutta's Den

Dutta relaxes on his turquoise settee, his legs crossed lengthwise, one arm rests on the sofa arm rest and the arm props up to cradle his musing head. Baji closes the French windows and pulls the floor length blue curtains.. he comments, what a world! toxic gas in the AC where do people get such ideas from? no worries Babaa watches over my Bhau !.. Dutta carps, if you shut up for two minutes , we can think ! Baji apologises , sorry Bhau! I am tense that's why I am blabbering ..

Aye Sahib enters her son's room, Dutta! she says as she comes towards him, and he stands up from the settee and asks, how is Supriya ? ..she makes him sit down and sits beside him, and continues tenderly, my Dutta worries about everyone, but your Aye worries about you, nothing will happen to Supriya , nothing ! Supriya will stay with me in my room tonight, so you don't worry..Jagdamba! she chants.

But Dutta still is not at rest. He stands up and says, why would I not worry? In my house! Dutta 's house someone has dared to enter! just let my hands get hold of him.. I swear by Deva will gauge his eye out! and place it on his palm!.. Baji !like I ordered from tonight boost up security ! no one enters the house without permission, never mind about birds not even an insect will be allowed in !. Baji turns to leave, but Aye Sahib stops him, Baji stop a while!.. and she turns to her son , Dutta you need to go to sleep now, from tomorrow your pre- nuptial rituals will start, how can you keep an eye on every one? you do one thing.. appoint a body guard for Supriya ! .. Baji hears and agrees, body guard! fine it'll be done, tomorrow Sudarshan will come he'll arrange for one.. Aye Sahib says , Dutta you were right when you said downstairs, the enemy is from within us, that's why I cut you, so that no one gets suspicious. The episode is all about the main male protagonist reinstating his might within his household. A serious incident has happened under his roof. The twice saviour of his life is interrogated yet let off courtesy of a billet-doux. He calls upon an enquiry, where in his household members, be they menials or family are all present. The point is to set certain rules and regulations in place which would apply to all. There is talk about increasing security, greater monitoring and accountability. One to all will be under his surveillance. One has the feeling of being in Fort Knox, with him as the commander in chief. Every commander has an aide he has one too. Flow of events forces him to put into place the introduction of a new hired member to the existing populace of Patil Nivas.
