@timesofindia mumbaimirror frnt pg adverts have semi nude women posing in lingerie. kids below 10yrs find it lying around the house.v bad !

i agree with MR i & my sis were discussing same thing few days back ..the mumbai mirror talks abt women issue & they don't think twice before printing obsence pic ..i in disgust tore the front paper & its a regular exercise coz the paper hasn't stop printing it good to see MR talking abt this issue..

I agree abt them not thinking twice before posting pics like this

But pointing fingers at things like this and saying this is the cause of crimes ...is wrg .

Secondly Mumbai Mirror is semi tabloid ...and such stuff is a part parcel of such a newspaper

Mid day used post a mid day mate pic every day ...

why only mid day and mirror ...why not fashion shows ...films and telly shows ...and even mannequins at a sale

What I want to say ...is not what you expose ur children too ...is how teach them to look at it ...

for as beauty lies in the eyes of the behold , so does evil ...

U cannot protect ur child for ever ...they need to know abt it to fight it ...to know what is right and wrg

Something is protecting kids for such things ...we make more curious to find them out ...

leads to wrg ways ...instead I feel be open abt it ...rather than hide it

Agreed that media should be more responsible...but where to put a stop ?...even the PJ's/comments made at Award functions by so called A grade stars/hosts are IMPROPER...

What about the heart breaking reports of violence and abuse in the 24 X 7 news channels...these are the unfortunate reality our society is facing today...It then becomes our responsibility to educate our kids...we can protect them only to a certain extent..but curiosity does do damage with half baked erroneous stuff...survival with the right options is a big challenge in today's world.

i was having mixed feelings about this tweet of MR...

a part of me agrees that he has got a point...

but then again when i see news like ban the mannequins to stop the men from getting ideas and thereby protect women's honour.. i feel sick. dont we as a women deserve better than this insane idiotic honour-protecting measures?!..

women in lingerie... there are ads with men in jockey. how about that?

i personally think the in your face gruesome pictures on the front pages are more damaging. i dont open regional newspaper for precisely that reason. vulgar selling of tragedy.

and regarding censoring of kids... even cartoon channels are to be monitored. those chin-shan and sometimes doraemon give me heart seizures looking at their contents.

we cannot bubble wrap our kids. we just have to tell them what they should and should watch and mold their thought process as per our moral guidelines...

i can take semi nude women.. spare me from condom ads please.. difficult to explain to kids..

Yes they are at fault being not sole factor or main factor ...We got stop the blame game , to make you look innocent and scape goat ...

I do not agree with him ... Hiding it from kids , is not protecting is making them curious ...which is very dangerous

If pics like these are the cause then Let me point out that many of ancient temples have more to show than than these pics .

What would you do to them ...stop ur kids from going to pray ...Absurd

Instead teach ur kids the diffrence between the right and wrg ... make them capable to make the decision ... rather make them urself

but pri sometimes some pics are really embarrassing. you just cant answer the queries of kids about the same. so i do get the point of not posting such pics..

but women in lingerie is not as immoral or unethical or un-cultural thing as it is made out to be.

worse things are happening in world.

lets focus on that.

once a pic of dead and discarded foetus (sounded tragic and gruesome i know. felt so sad and disguted and disturbed at that.) was posted on front page in daily paper here. backlash of readers was huge. the editor had to apologize for the same.

you just can't ignore your moral responsibility towards your audience.. goes for both printed and Tv media...

and agree with temple part. kids will always be curious. they should given right information at right time. lets them not learn from wrong sources.

so yes... i still maintain semi-nude women is not the issue. as a woman i dont mind those pics. i just hate those perfume ads and the ads were women are not required but still commodified.

Totally agree with priya that banning is counter productive. Instead sensitise kids to the issues n be open about all things, except that take care to keep their age in mind and accordingly frame the words so that they are not unnecessarily burdened with the harsh realities.

I gues mishal was worried at the excessive skin show on the front pages of a daily which is only to grab eyeballs. But his solution is only a knee jerk reaction without much thought.

I dont understand if the I&B ministry is even monitoriting any violatins of their guidelines. Infact any of us can make a direct complaint to the concerned authorities if we feel aggreived.
