But coming to the question at hand - the reason behind Dutta marrying Nakku at gunpoint the first time around.. Honestly, in my opinion he didn't do it out of hidden love or misunderstood feelings. He did it out of hate. He hated the thought of Nakku loving him and he just had to erradicate/destroy that love. But let me explain..
After the Seema debacle, Dutta had been told that money rules and that ruthless people who have a ton of cash and power to sport get EVERYTHING. And as much as Dutta HATED those people - those people that Seema chose over him - he still ended up being just like them (in his mind). Because he had countless amounts of money and power and that EVERY one was either scared of him or respected him. And in his mind, everyone's approval just served as a reminder that what Seema had said all those years ago was true. That him, as he was before, was NO one compared to the Dutta Bhao he is now. And that was okay to him - in his mind he was a monster and he had learned to live with that.
But enter Nakku.. This girl who for the first time in a long time, reminded him of the "Dutta" in him. The one who fought for honor (her honor) and upheld the good. And she reminded him of the "Dutta" that people weren't "scared" of or "respected" for his money, power or gun, but rather for his heart and compassion. She always treated him as Dutta.. The mechanic. The guy who can be wrong and when he is, can be told that he is wrong! So he told her everything about Seema, the woman who made him into Dutta Bhao.. And believed that Nakku understood HIM - understood DUTTA - as he was.. Not as everyone saw him.
But when he found out that she'd helped Supriya "escape" his clutches, he was betrayed.. He was betrayed because Nakku treated him like a monster too.. Like someone who people need to be protected from. And that he knew how to handle - he had to kill her, make a lesson out of her.
He did not however know how to handle the fact that HIS Nakku, the girl he'd hoped and BELIEVED understood HIM.. That Nakku was also in fact one of many in a line of people who (in his mind) loved him for his money. Because why ELSE would anyone love a man like him?! Why else would she pick him if not to prove that what Seema had said was right - that the type of men he now emulated, the type of men that Seema left the car mechanic Dutta for, were the type of men who got EVERYTHING. Who meant everything. And who people played TRICKS to be around. In his mind, as convoluted as it may be, Nakku loving him was a betrayal to his core because Nakku's friendship was with Dutta the car mechanic.. But her love COULD NOT be with anyone other than Dutta BHAO. And for her to pick Dutta BHAO over Dutta..
He was upset at her for tricking him again.. AFTER Seema - when he was SURE this would never happen. And in his anger, he vented on the only thing/person he could - Nakku. Last time, he made Seema the object of his hate.. but he knew how selfish she was in some ways and therefore was able to handle it a bit better.. Her innate selfishness coupled with the realization that he was a bad judge of character helped lessen the blow. Only this time, he was SURE he was right - that Nakku had been one of the GOOD guys. And to be told he was wrong. To be told he could STILL be tricked and made a fool of. That no one would EVER love Dutta and that BHAO would always win. Well that just wasn't acceptable.
He couldn't kill her because it was Nakku - the girl who spoke of love with such conviction that you just had to believe her. And I know for a fact that when he looked in her eyes, he could not reconcile the garbage being spewed about her with what he saw in there but he could not believe her either. So he left, got drunk.. And what he does when he is drunk, can never be explained. Not even by him. Proven by when he hurt Nakku in his drunken stupor a couple of nights earlier.
In his drunken state, he did what he thought was the best punishment for him (for being stupid) and for her (for not realizing what a horrible man he was - what a horrible person he'd emulated!). He married her to remind him how EVERYTHING pure can eventually be corrupted (again, in his mind) and to remind her that he isn't such a catch just because he has money and power (which is again what HE thought she was after)..
And this could all just be gibberish on my part.. But honestly, this is what it seemed to me. He really married her out of hate and pure disgust. I didn't really notice any hidden love at all.
AND this is clearly ignoring the fact that the dramatic wedding in the show was all a ploy for increased trps.. That they could have EASILY resolved this issue in a less dramatic end.. 😆
