Nakusha woke up after a few hours. Her room had fallen dark, the wind was picking up outside. She could hear the hospital was quite. It was safe to assume it was late into the night. There was a tray of food next to her bed which looked down right inedible. She slowly sat up and turned the light on. Adjusting her eyes to the light, she was now able to see her room clearly. Looking to her left she saw him sleeping the sofa which was clearly way too small for him. His right hand crossed over his eyes, his left hand on his chest and his legs crossed at the ankles. She could only imagine how uncomfortable he must be. Shaking her head in annoyance, she rang for the nurse. Upon hearing her voice, he opened his eyes a tad to see Naku talking to the nurse and looking over some papers. He heard her ask the nurse, "When did he come back and couldnt the staff find him something more comfortable to lay down on. That poor man barely fits on that thing." He smirked slightly while eavesdropping. "Ma'am, he never left the hospital. I saw him walk out of your room a few hours ago and just sit on the chair directly in front of your room. Baaji came and they talked for a few mins and then Bhao returned to your room. We came in to tell him that visiting hours were over but.. well, umm,.. he plainly refused to leave. And as you know ma'am, there is no arguing with Bhao" said the nurse. " what the hell, doesn't this hospital follow rules and regulations?" Nakusha said it utter irritation. "Just because he says no, you listened?"
"Why are you yelling at her, I told them I was going to stay, and like she just explained to you, there is no use arguing with me" he said it a sleepy voice causing both Naku and the nurse to turn and look at him. He sat up slowly and stretched his arms above his head. " tu ja.. mein is sherni ko sambhal loon ga" he instructed the nurse. The nurse smiled and left, closing the door behind her. His last few words were enough to light the fire in her. A fire that she thought was long extinguished. "What the hell do you think of yourself?! Sherni- my foot!" she huffed and turned her head in the opposite direction. He looked at her and all he could do was smile. That was the girl he remembered. Full of fire. He got up slowly and made his way to her bed, grabbing a bag of food aayi sahib had sent with Baaji.
"khana kha le" he instructed as he sat on her bed near her legs and took out a plate of food. "im not hungry" she protested, still looking stubbornly in the opposite direction. "Do you want to eat yourself or should I feed you myself?" he questioned with a tint of anger. Unmoved by his threats, she remained still. "tu itni ziddi hogi maine kabhi socha bhi na tha" he said. She heard his stomach growl loudly triggering her to look in his direction. "Have you eaten?" she questioned quietly. " na… thought we'd eat together like we used to" he explained dryly. He took a morsel of food and brought it to her lips. A little surprised, she looked at him. A twinkle in his eyes and a smirk on his lips… as handsome as ever she thought. "ok fine… but under one condition." she said. " kya?" he questioned. She took that morsal from his fingers and brought it to his lips "you first" and smiled. His heart melted and he knew he was goner. His destiny had given him another chance and this time he was not going to waste any time. There was no turning back now. He took the bite and instantly reached in the plate to pick up another bite bring it to her lips again. Tears started to well up in her eyes as she took her first bite.

Nakusha was released to go home 2 days after. Dutta came bright and early to pick her. Both Naku and Dutta were all smiles. The hospital staff noticed the extra pep in Dutta's step and he was actually in a good mood, which was a rare sight. Dutta told her that Aayi sahib wanted to meet her and he wanted to take her there before he dropped her home. She nodded in approval. The car ride home was silent. On one side Dutta was contemplating on how he should tell Naku about his feeling and on the other side, Naku was anticipating his next move. She wondered why he hadnt said anything about his feeling and how she would react. Her heart started beating faster and she thought of that precise moment. Dutta noticed her tiny petite hands resting on the arm rest in between them. His own hands becoming restless. Should he try and hold her hand… or would it be too forward? His stomach aching with anxiety. Its now or never Dutta, he preached to himself. He wanted to see how she would react to his bold move. There were so many things he wanted to say… so many things he wanted to hear. Now or never Dutta! He took a deep breath and held it. He extended his hand and reached for hers. His large rough hands touched her sending shocks waves through both their bodies. She didn't shy away much to his liking. She continue to gaze out the window and a shy but happy smile played on her face. He looked at her sideways and saw that she was not afraid of his brave move and wasn't offended either. "Breathe" she said silently. He didn't realize he was still holding his breath and let out an audible sigh. Great!!! He thought, just great! This woman is gonna be the end of me, he thought to himself. She giggled at his nervous behavior. She knew all too well the effect she had on him. Little to his knowledge, he had the same effect on her but she just hid it better. To ease his awkwardness, she entwined her fingers with his and held on to his hand with more authority. Her small gesture set him at ease and reconfirmed her feelings towards him. He made up his mind to talk to Aayi Sahib tonight.
The reached Patil niwas soon after. He parked the car and looked her hand still intertwined in his. Not really wanting to let them go but he knew he had very little option here. He had an image to keep after all. He got out and opened her door. They both walked into the house and were greeted by smiling faces, some new and some old. Out of the crowd, a girl came storming towards Dutta and threw her self at him. Ringing her arms around his neck, she said "its about time, I' ve been calling you! where have you been?!?!". Using some force he pushes her a bit and says " aye ladki, tu kya kar rahi hai". Ignoring his question, she looks at Nakusha disapprovingly. "And you are…?" she questioned. Finding her voice, Nakusha introduced herself. "Im Nakusha…" and before she could finish, the other girl interrupted, " oh, anyway, I'm Supriya. Sudarshans sister and Duttas soon to be fiance."
