Sorry for the late update. I have been busy with school and work. As always, any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks to Dutta, Naku's wound had healed quickly. Gradually, Dutta established a comfort level around her. She would join the family for dinner and occasionally accompany Dutta on Kaka Babu's behalf to some meetings. Dutta's sisters—Kala, Leela, and Roop—were starting to feel threatened by Naku's presence. She had opened up to Aayi Saheb and Madhu from day one, but lately they noticed that she wasn't as bitter around their brother as before. One day Naku was heading out for work when Kala and Sudharshan stopped her.

Kala: Why are you leaving so early for work Naku?

Naku [glances towards Sudharshan before answering with a sarcastic smile]: Because I like to earn money—not leech off of my loved ones. I'm not spineless like some people in this house.

Sudharshan [understanding the insult points a finger towards Naku]: Watch your mouth…you servant?

Naku: Put your finger down! I'm no one's servant. Now if you two are done wasting my time, I actually have work to do.

Kala [gives her evil smirk]: You definitely have some nerve…coming into the house where the man responsible for your parents' death lives. Doesn't it bother you that he is breathing? Doesn't it hurt you?

Naku: If you are trying to instigate me, then it's not working. Let me remind you that I'm not as stupid as your brother. You may have corrupted his mind against me, but that doesn't mean you can do the same with me. My advice to you is don't waste your time.

Naku passes by the two and starts her bike. Before leaving, she drives right in front of Kala and Sudharshan and lifts her helmet.

Naku: By the way, the only people that should feel threatened and should sleep with one eye open, are the people who told Vikrant about my whereabouts and helped him kidnap us.

Kala and Sudharshan's face jaw fell instantly and Naku gave a victorious smile in response.

Naku: I know really well how Vikrant found out about me, but don't worry I won't tell Dutta. He doesn't fight my battles for me.

Naku put her helmet back and drove off leaving Kala and Sudharshan speechless. Sudharshan had begun trembling while Kala was grinding her teeth.

Sudharshan: What are we going to do now? Nakusha already knows that we told Vikrant about her. I'll be honest with you. Based on what I've heard from people in the business, I'd rather deal with Dutta Bhao than Nakusha.

Kala: Just shut up! How did my sister fall in love with coward like you? If she wanted to take revenge on us, she would have already done so.

Later that day, Kaka Babu invited Dutta and his family for dinner, and Naku was to meet up with them at his house directly. Dutta and his family were greeted by a pleasant piano tune, which could be heard at the entrance of the house.

Kaya: It's been a long time since I have heard di play.

Dutta gave a confused look to Kaya, and she responded by gesturing him to enter the house. When they stepped into Kaka Babu's house, they found Kaka Babu, Kaki Ma, and all the servants gathered in a corner opposite from the dining room. Kaya and Baji continued to head towards the crowd, and Dutta and his family hesitantly followed. When they came closer, the servants moved to the side, allowing them to get a better view. There they saw Naku playing the piano while Ali Mamu sat next to her and turned the pages of the notes. The music had caught everyone's attention the minute they heard it, but Dutta became more engrossed after he saw the musician playing the music.

Kaya: Ali Mamu taught di how to play the piano. It's one of the few things that makes her happy. It's as if she forgets everything and enters her own world when playing the piano.

Dutta could completely relate to that feeling because he experienced the same thing when he would play his harmonica. He noticed a special glow on Naku's face—there was no sign of pain or sadness, and he wished more than ever that he could freeze this moment. Watching Naku play and smile to herself when she would successfully complete a set of notes automatically bought a smile to Dutta's face. He wished he could sit there forever and just watch her.

When Naku finished the song, everyone gave her a loud applaud. Ali Mamu gave her a proud hug.

Kaka Babu: Ali, I think Naku is becoming a better pianist than you.

Ali Mamu: Good! Now all of you can bug her to play instead of me.

Ali then greeted Dutta and his family. The servants setted up the table and everyone proceeded towards it. Baji and Kaya made schemed with everyone else to make sure that Naku and Dutta were forced to sit next to each other. Both of them believed that Naku and Dutta deserved happiness more than any couple in the house. Throughout dinner, everyone was conversing except for Dutta and Naku, who quietly ate their food. After a while, Dutta felt like a fool sitting there chewing on his food while the elders had their discussion and Baji and Kaya entertained the others with their yapping. Dutta shifted his glance to the seat next to him where he noticed Naku playing with her food more than eating it.

Dutta: You've barely touched your food, Naku. Is something wrong?

Naku: No. I'm just not that hungry.

Dutta: You always say that. Remember, you would always lecture me to finish my meals or else I will get sick. I think someone needs to give you that advice.

Naku gave a small smile to Dutta's comment. She clearly remembered how she would have to follow him around until he ate his meal.

Dutta, noticing the smile, decided to carry on with the conversation.

Dutta: You played the piano really well.

Naku: It's a nice way to get lost in your own world.

Dutta: I exactly know where you are coming from.

Naku: I think I'm gonna go for a ride on my bike…would you like to come?

Dutta: Sure

Although he didn't show it, Dutta was elated that Naku invited him. He was impatient for the rest of the meal; he wanted everyone to finish eating so they can leave. Once dinner was over, Naku told Kaya where she was going. Naku and Dutta left through the back door, while Kaya made the excuse that they were taking care of some business.

Naku gestured Dutta to sit behind her on the bike and put on a helmet. He did as he was told and waited patiently for Naku to start driving. A few seconds later, Naku looked over her shoulder towards him

Naku: You may want to hold on tight. I'm going to go really fast.

Dutta hesitantly wrapped his arms around her waist, and when she didn't resist, he gently tightened his hold on her. Naku then sped off.

In the meantime, Madhu decided to take a stroll in Kaka Babu's garden. She never got tired of admiring Kaki Ma's choice of flowers. While examining the flowers, Madhu heard a faint screeching sound. She followed the sound towards the other end of the garden. She found Shivum sitting on a swing and rocking back and forth, which was making the screeching sound. During that moment, he seemed like an innocent child that was troubled by something. Madhu couldn't see the cold, rutheless guy that had misbehaved with Naku earlier. She quietly took a few steps towards him.

Madhu: Mind if I join you?

Shivum gestured towards his side, indicating that he didn't mind Madhu sitting next to him. She sat next to him and started looking around while trying to figure out something to say.

Shivum: How was dinner?

Madhu: It was good. I was happy to see bhabhi play the piano.

Shivum: I have to admit, she does play it really well.

Madhu: You've actually heard her play?

Shivum: Why does that surprise you?

Madhu: It's just that last time you gave the impression that you hated being around her.

Shivum: I don't hate her…I'm more envious of the respect that my father has for her. I wish he could do the same for me.

Madhu: Well we often misunderstand the people we love. Maybe your father is aware of your capabilities and just wants you to put it to good use. Maybe expects so much from you because he thinks you are more than capable of living up to his expectations.

Shivum: How do you know that?

Madhu: He's a father, and deep down, every father loves his child. Look at my father, there was a time when he tried to gamble my brother. At that time anyone would have thought that he did not love his son, but I saw him cry in front of my brother's picture for years. That was enough to convince me that he loved my brother. Can I give you some advice?

Shivum gave a soft nod to her.

Madhu: Instead of wasting your time doing things to make bhabhi look bad, do things that make you and others proud of who you are? Most importantly, have some faith in those that love you. My brother couldn't show that faith to bhabhi, and in the end both of them suffered. Save yourself from going through that pain.

Madhu then left Shivum, who was now questioning all his emotions and actions.

Naku had driven for about a half hour, and stopped at the top of a hill that gave them a clear view of the city. She quietly got off her bike and removed her helmet, and Dutta followed her steps. There were a few benches and Naku sat on the one at the center, giving herself a clear view of the sky. Dutta sat down a few inches away from her and followed her gaze towards the moon. For several minutes, the two sat their quietly staring at the moon. Dutta was the first one to break the silence.

Dutta: Do you come here often?

Naku: Whenever, I miss my parents. I don't know what it is about this place, but every time I come here, I feel my parents are close and watching over me.

Dutta: Why did you ask me to come with you?

Naku: I wanted some company, but not someone who would chew my brains away with their non stop blabbering.

Both gave a small chuckle at Naku's comment.

Naku: I wanted to thank you for what you did.

Dutta: It's the least I could do considering what I put you through.

Naku: And I want you to stop holding yourself responsible for what happened.

Dutta was shocked at her last statement. He gave her confused look, trying to figure out what she was trying to say.

Naku: What happened to my parents was not your fault.

Dutta: I should have protected you.

Naku: I know that if you had known what was going on, you would have done everything in your power to protect us. There was no way you could've known. I want you to stop blaming yourself and feeling guilty. Just pray that I can punish those that were responsible for this.

Dutta: I'll do more than pray. I'm going to hunt Vikrant down myself and bring him to your feet.

Naku stared at Dutta for a minute, taking in his sincerity and determination. She quickly came out of her daze and looked away.

Naku: Anyways, we better get going before Baji sends a search team after us.

Dutta: Here…let me drive. I promise I won't damage your bike.

Naku handed Dutta the keys and sat behind him and tightly wrapped her arms around his waist. A few minutes into the drive, Dutta felt some weight on his left shoulder. When glanced over his shoulder, he saw Naku's head leaning on his shoulder. She had fallen asleep, and he immediately lowered his speed to make it comfortable for her. When he arrived home, he noticed the lights were out, which meant that everyone had fallen asleep.

Dutta carefully carried Naku to her room and tucked her into her bed. He then caressed her head a few times while staring at her innocent face.

Dutta: I love you so much.

Dutta concluded his sincere statement by placing a chaste kiss on Naku's forehead.
