Its late at night, Naku is tired but she still has a few areas to clean. She is about to go and start cleaning when leela bai comes rushing with something in her hands.
"Naku, beta, look!"
"What?"
Leela bai looks around as if to check if anyone's there and shows Naku what is in her hands. Its a set of keys.
"What is this, maushi?"
"Beta, quickly take this, Sahab is not around, you can escape! But you'll have to run otherwise he will try and capture you again. He already suspects that you have something to do with Bhao, but if he captures you again, I dont know what he will do to you, please Naku run away, a sweet child such as you who always takes care of others doesn't deserved to be locked up in this place" Leela bai looks around with disgust in her eyes.
Naku starts crying softly and hesitantly takes they keys from her hands, "Thank you so much, you don't know what you have done for me, you have helped me fulfill the promise I gave to my husband. I will be grateful to you for my entire life. Come with me please!"
"No! I will only slow you down"
Naku is about to protest but Leela continues, "I have committed many sins in the past, I am destined to stay here."
"But..."
"Go, my child, hurry!"
Naku takes blessing from Leela and rushes out. Sneaking past the guards is easy, as most of them are lazing around and sleeping, but the tough part was after she escaped from the factory. Naku didn't know her way around the strange town and was wandering around aimlessly. She had no food,nor any money. She finally became exhausted and sat down near a lake in a small clearing near the outskirts of the town. She fell asleep listening to the soothing voices of the birds cawing.

She woke up in a small cottage type place. An elderly woman wearing a sari was sitting beside her, with a glass of water. She smiled when she realized that Naku was awake, and slowly helped her to get up.
Putting the glass next to Naku's lips, the lady asked, "How are you,beti? We found you near the clearing, unconscious, we got worried, and got you checked by the doctor. You are pregnant, you shouldn't be out in the boiling sun"
"I am fine. Thankyou for helping me but now I have to go to my husband" Naku was about to get up from the bed but the lady held her hand, stopping her.
"No, beti. You are too weak, and you shouldn't travel in this condition. Stay here for a while, at least until the baby is born and you become stronger"
"But..." Naku stopped talking, remembering the moment when she promised Dutta that she will take care of herself and the baby. The lady was right, if she traveled, there would be risk of getting caught and maybe having a miscarriage, "But maushi, I can't stay here for so long"
"Why not?"
"I will be disturbing you"
"This is an ashram for widows, and orphans, and any lonely girls. You are welcome to stay here."
Naku hugged the lady and thanked her.
"If you need anything just ask the girl in the room next to you, Sunaina, she will get you whatever you want"
"Oh, no, that's ok, I dont want to be a burden on anyone"
"Beti, this place is an ashram, we help each other, and you won't be a burden to anyone. Waise, tumhara naam kya hai?"
"Nakusha"
"Nakusha...pyaara naam hai"
"Thanks"
The lady went out of the room, leaving Naku alone.
