He sighed and collapsed on the bed; His hangover was getting the better of him.
Naku poked her head in, to check on Dutta and, realizing that he had fainted, rushed to help him to the bed. However much she tried though, she couldn't pick him up. (lol jaa, spinach kha ke aa, popeye ki tarah you'll get muscles) Baji came in and noticed Nakku trying to drag Dutta to the bed. He laughed and said "Kya Vahini? Kal raat ke baad aapka maan nahi barha? Look, poor Bhao is trying to sleep, aur aap zabardasti.." He let out the laugh he was trying to hold in while talking, clutching his stomach. Nakku stared icily at him and said, "What do you mean kal raat?"
"Kal raat? Well kal raat jo hua tha na, woh sab ko pata hai"
"Sab ko matlab?" Naku was getting nervous, she didn't want AS to find out, how embarrasing would that be.
"Sab ko matlab, all of the servants, Roops, Madhu.."
"Aur AS...?"
"Nah, she's sleeping..do you want me to go and tell her?" Baji pretended that he was going to go.
"Noooo" Nakku screamed grabbing his arm to stop him.
"Kyun?"
"Er, because, these are private matters not something to be told to the whole world...and by the way Baji how did you find out? I mean, I thought you were asleep..."
"It's kind of obvious from the marks on your neck, vahini" He yawned ,"Now come quickly, Kala Tai wants you to eat something"
"Tell her that I already ate, and you go too." Nakku tried to shoo him away, but he didn't.
"What do you want" she growled, irritated.
"Vahini, do you think Bhao is still angry at me?" Baji asked, in a quiet tone, almost inaudible.
Nakku's gaze softened as she held Baji's hand (friendly way)," Of course he has forgiven you. Do you think your Bhao can be angry at you for more than a minute?"
"But....."
"Don't worry, I know that he isn't angry at you,. Now could you please help me?" She gestured towards Dutta, who was still on the floor. Baji grinned and lifted Dutta up and put him on the bed. As soon as he left, Nakku grabbed her dupatta, which had fallen off while she had been dragging Dutta to the bed. Then she hadn't been paying attention, but when Baji said, she had realized. "Oh god! I have to be more careful, I can't let anyone else see" She mumbled to herself.

A week passed in peace, kind of. Dutta still continued being totally besharam with Naku and Naku still was wary and cautious around AS, as she couldn't let her know what she and Dutta were up to before the marriage, and the lovebites weren't going away, as Dutta kept on giving her new ones, and she kept on punishing him by wearing baggy salwar kameezs. AS had organised a puja for Naku's health, for she had been quite sick in the week, and also for their jodi to be together forever. They had restarted planning the shaadi, and the rasams were going to start the next day.
Nakku came down the stairs, clad in a gorgeous royal blue baluchari sari (It's a type of sari from Bengal, I think, but it's really pretty) and gold jewellery studded with sapphires. Dutta followed, looking no less dashing, in a blue sherwani. Naku had somehow managed to hide the love bites with makeup and the rest she covered with her long hair, which she had let out. Anay, Sethji, Pari (That is Leela's daughter's name right?) and a few other kids came running up to Dutta and dragged him outside . Naku walked up to Madhu and Baji, who were standing really close together, close enough to make Roops dance to Baji and try and make him dance with her as well. Naku watched this from a distance, amused.
"Baji, chalo na!"
"What, I don't want to dance with you ladies"
"Suds jijaji is dancing as well, look... come on Baji"
Roops continued tugging the sleeve of Baji's maroon kurta, in vain.
"Yes, Baji, lets dance" Madhu said, interrupting the small tug-of-war going on between Baji and Roops.
"But.."
"Come on! Please...?"
"Ok fine" Baji allowed himself to be pulled to the dance floor (its not a proper dance floor, its only a little area where everyone's dancing)
The two started to dance, but Roops came in between, trying to get Baji's attention.
"This girl", Naku thought," She is still a child, first she always comes in our room when Saab and me want to be alone, and now she is coming in between Baji and Madhu...I think Baji aur Madhu ke beech mein koi to khichadi pak rahi hai" She smiled to herself at the thought of Baji and Madhu together.
"Vahini, AS is outside, she is calling you..." Kala called
Nakku looked at the reflection of herself in one of the big golden vases, fixing her pallu, and hair, which had shifted slightly, revealing a small swollen area. Roops winked at Kala and walked to the door, before Nakku could get to it. She stuck out he r foot slightly. Nakku went to the door.
"Taayi" someone called, possibly Sethji. Naku turned her head towards the sound, not paying attention to where she was going. She tripped over something, and hurtled down a small flight of stairs. She tried to scream, but couldn't, her body went numb as her head banged into the edge of the half-open door, and she fell on top of something. It scratched her back, and she screamed in pain. It felt as it was burning and she rolled over the top of the cylinder-like thing. She couldn't see what it was, the only thing she saw before everything went black was the shocked, stunned expression of Dutta. "Saab" she whispered, trying to pull her head up to look at him, but failed and her head leaned back onto the object she had fallen upon. Drops of hot blood dripped down her forehead, blinding her, making her eyes droop....until blackness enveloped her.
