I can see your point, but I feel a little differently. I'd been annoyed with Dutta's behaviour on a couple of occasions in the past. But this time, I'm on his side.

A person who tried to keep emotions at bay for so long finally decides to come back to being human and is subjected to such a shock. The first reaction is going to be anger. Naku was the one who brought him out of his despair and she is the one to give him such a heartbreak.. no wonder he is going to be mad...

He has fallen in love and wants to start life afresh with her, and so he wants to tell her in his own way how important she is to him, and that too in front of that very family before whom she had been humiliated. I think it was just his way of giving her honour and respect, and at the same time, letting his family know of her importance in his life. Isnt it natural for Dutta to assume that a woman who loves him wholeheartedly would only be happy when he asks for her hand respectfully in front of the world.

If he hadnt been sure of her feelings, it would have been absurd for him to feel angry at her reaction. But she has repeatedly said that she loves him with heart and soul and her actions during the cliff accident scene have told him that she would prefer to die with him rather than live without him. For me, if he had accepted her reaction very calmly, THAT would have been weird.

Well forgetting about Dutta and his past and looking at him as seeing for first time ... I agree with your opinion Swati. I think he is just trying to be hasty .. okay he has his own valid reasons for that .. but atleast he should think why all of a sudden the outgoing Nakku is behaving so timidly? Why he is not getting affected by what Kala keeps saying? Why he is not shutting up Kala? Unless he creates the circumstances well enough for Nakku to integrate how can he expect that she should not think that she is a servant? Actually he should try to understand her feelings ... talk to her rather than getting affected by her behaviour. Try understanding her.

I disagree. In Naku's case he does not need to think,,, he has seen time and time again how much she loves him..so for him its a given that she will accept his proposal. so for her to refuse it is a big shock. Once he is out of his initial shock he will want to know the truth...

I don't think if you know for sure from a person's behaviour what his/her feelings are for then there is not need to doubt it right?
