Questionable: Is LTL including filmy elements?

Ok, I hope this topic does not become as controversial and adversarial as my last one was. 😆

Prior to two weeks ago, LTL had a certain way of filming, creating episodes (which it still does pretty much), etc. Let me ask you a question:

When I first saw Dutta's dream sequence with Naku in the garden, which I liked for its sweetness, I was taken aback for a couple of reasons: It was very Gajini-ish and it was somewhat filmy. We really had not seen something like that before in the show.

So today, when they had a "racy" item dance, I was again surprised. To defuse any controversial comments, I will say I understood its purpose: to show Anna's depravity. Fortunately, I ff'd through it, but from many of your comments, it was racy and not so pleasant to watch.

These are just two minor things in the past two weeks, but any thoughts? These were a bit of a departure from what LTL is used to showing.

Could Colors be rearing its ugly head?

Let me know your thoughts.

Not only LTL .. It started with Ekta, she introduced dance numbers, and item gals performing in such an un realistic manner.. where out of nowhere every one joins them on dance floor..even the elders of the families... so pathetic for one's patience...

same was done in pratigya ... but it was fine as it fitted with the environment and mind levels of the who lives in the house.
and LTL is no exception ...he is a DON, a crazy one... so inorder to gain more trps, they added a dance number keeping in mind the flavor and situation...

I very much agree with sara. The situation was perfect, but it could have been done in a better way considering that the show is watched by a family.

Aren't the producers of the show Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat? Maybe that is the reason sometimes it seems more filmy. Just a wild guess. Hopefully we will soon get a very filmy style SR for Tasha 😃. I won't mind them moving the time slot to 11:00 pm when all the kids are in bed 😃 with very little 🤬

there is filmy element to the whole thing but then i think ltl can get away with it as its not a typical saas bahu serial. nelu, i think it was kinda tacky but that was the whole image that was meant to be conveyed...a don surrounded by erm ''naachne waali'' well much more then that if u get me. i think anna was absolutely fantastic in putting across his dodgy character. abt it being a family show...there is much worse on childrens programmes here in the uk so that was nothing!

After watching many shows on TV those on and off air I can safely say every show has filmy elements. Its only a question of how much. Certain channels like Star One copy whole sequences including the actual scenes for a track. Some producers like Ekta base tracks on films...usually the look of her characters are based on popular films. Even some of her serials have been based on films. Now LTL I will say has been less filmi compared to other shows. But its not that filminess has been missing. Like the JMM track was completely filmy. But the difference lies in how its handled and so far LTL has been hatke.

I think the dance sequence had the desired effect. We are all grossed out by Anna. I think the CVs knewt how much we liked Anna and didn't want him to die. So,they gave us this sequence which would make us hate anna and want Dutta to kill him

I don't think the question is about being filmy or not.....I beleive it was extremely tacky and totally unnecessary....we already knew from the previous episode that Anna desired naku , so why this cheap song and dance....I'm also very much surprised by Mahi Vijj doing it.....it put her in a very cheap setting that was so not needed...
.My whole point is be logical....on one hand they are potraying the couple strugglig to hold hands...and exchanging eye locks..and believe me its very sweet and innocent though a bit unrealisitc in today's day and age....also ,both Dutta and Naku come from backgrounds where it is very difficult to preserve innocence(of the mind) and maturity.... but even that is fine....but what's the logic here???I mean on one hand we have dream sequences which are in the PG area and then we have scenes where the female lead is being bathed in full clothes....and I'm sure when they show the SR , they will probably be fully dressed and the candles will flicker to indicate activity...what next....are we going to have a dream sequence for Dutta with Naku in a swimsuit???? we are in the 21st century so why are we trying to pretend to be otherwise???
if they want to be racy, be in the places needed.....and as for PG and family audiences.....our children are exposed to much more than this via films and shows not only here in the US but in India too....
I don't know who's responsible for the output in Indian serials whether its the producers or the channel people ...whoever it is, my only contention is that they be logical and realistic...such scenes take away the novelty of good serials like LTL....

@ bold

I kinda put off by this line. Is this a hard fast rule that with Time Cultural values and human behavior changes???? If people of OLD doesn't go and hang around more often then they do now Makes then narrow minded and Wrong in some way or other??? Why It is referred for a new age to completely ACT different even if they are conservative and shy??? I m a very shy person, but could never ever even hold a a man i love in a go......coz im a very private person when it comes to express my feelings .. even being in private, a person who is not "comfortable" with the idea will find "him/her self hard to express a certain feeling, specially if they are new to him/ her ... so, to me no matter how much time changes or how more westernized our societies can get... if U are a private person, shy or a bit stiff towards the idea of having romance inspite of being a romantic person ONe will find hard to even hold or Stare the person who he/ she has just realized to have feelings for.

I agree, let alone item songs... there is a new trend developed on Television where a shirtless hero shamelessly cornered a girl inorder to know how she feels abt her.. 😕 and then a towel act by ranbir kapoor is mercilessly copied in some tv shows...

The biggest answer to the question "why" is TRPS.. Channels, the Commanders force creatives of the show to ADd something in the name of "spice" inroder to satisfy themselves by gaining more trps.
Im glad that in LTL they used it for the benefit of the scene .. and didn't go overboard like other shows.

Rest is in our hands, if we dont like, then dont watch, remote control kis khet ki mooli hai?
