Exclusive: Pics from Ekta's Mahabharat sets

There has been plenty of talk about Ekta's Mahabharat but we have managed to get exclusive snaps from the sets that have been constructed at Filmcity, Mumbai.

The crew is working in day and night shifts and so far they have been able to prepare a Sinhasan (throne) for the king. It will be painted later.

This huge lamp will be displayed inside a grand palace. The lamp is made up of ivory tusks. Small oil lamps made of wood are to be placed on it and are being coloured.

The work is on in full swing and there is some major designing of walls going on.

A source informs, "The shoot will start by the end of the June or July while show will going on air in the third week of August. Ronit Roy is playing Bhishmpitamaha, Chetan Hansraj Bheem and Ram Kapoor Drutrashtra. While the rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed, it is said Ekta is in talks with Gauri Pradhan, Anita Hasnandani, Akashdeep Saighal, Sakshi Tanwar and Hiten Tejwani. She is spending crores of rupees on the sets and has termed it her biggest project ever. Manish Malhotra is doing the costumes while Prashant Sawant (responsible for SRK's six pack) is the fitness trainer."
