I have not got Smirti back to Kyunki for TRPs: Ekta
BALAJI'S ORIGINAL BAHU: Actor Smriti Irani insists her comeback to Kyunki... was inevitable.
Mumbai: She was the country's favourite bahu, but last year Smriti Irani said goodbye to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the longest running soap on Indian television.
And this what she had said while walking out of the serial in June last year: "I was killed. It was a business decision taken by the production house."
But now the bahu insists the comeback was inevitable.
"I was part of making history on Indian television together with my partnership with Ekta and now could I say no to making history all over again," Smirti said.
And the queen of soaps and Producer of Balaji Telefilms Ekta Kapoor insists that Smirti's decision is not all about grabbing eyeballs.
"I have not got Smirti to get TRPs. Our personal relationship also mattered to us," Ekta said.
As for the second Tulsi Virani or Gautami Kapoor well, she still figures in the serial. So get ready to watch some really imaginative screenplay at work yet again.
