this is a tough call rape is a serious crime yet we cannot ignore the obvious fact that mayank has no clue as to the the crime he has done and what anguish kt is going thru but we also cannot ignore the injustice it would be to kt if he were to be set free . i think he should be sent to some health care facility where he can be looked after better and let kt move forward in her life.

After reading the opinions here, I noticed that it refers to mayank like he raped KT like KT is an 'innocent girl lying on the bed drugged up'.
According to Mayank's account with his mother, he said that he loved KT and was saying that she lied to him when she said she would stay with him for the whole day.
The motive is very simple, KT did not express herself clearly to mayank, mayank got the wrong message, then on the holi epi, he saw her, tried to talk to her, she kept pushing him away (in a drugged state). Then his testosterone and basic 'urges' got into his head plus he was very close to her body and he raped her. (rape = intercourse without the other person's consent).

The comments that suggest that he is mentally ill and needs to go to an institution is right and I agree with. He needs professional help and a safe place where he can stay away from KT.

The next factor is where KT was drugged. Manthan must be punished for that, if he did not drug the drink,KT would not be alone in her room with mayank and raped. But, mayank would have still been upset and obsessive about KT, so that would have been another story.

Sex is a basic instinct and since this is a guy (who is a fully grown man, regardless of mental state) obviously his hormones will be all over the place when lying next to her, with 'deep feelings' for her.

The next thing is after Mayank gets professional help and put into an institution and Manthan goes to prison for drugging the drink, (and everyone finds out about this), is for KT and Mayank's mother to get councilling. KT needs to realise her actions to a mentally ill person had the effect. Mayank's mother needs to realise that it wasn't her fault (all mothers think like that about their kids), and that mayank will be taken care of.

Of course, the courts will have to take into account the mental state, but the secret probably be kept away from the whole family and it might drag on for another week or month.

I reckon the msg is: action/words have consequences, a mentally unstable person is unpredictable, be careful who gives your drink, what goes around comes around (like getting your own back on someone) until someone puts their foot down, or seriously gets hurt or killed.

that's all folks. 😃

if that is true, then whii did mayank rape KT?he was not raised that waii and taught to rape someone.and how manii places do u think mayank has seen someone get raped.i mean,he was a pretty nice guy.but when KT refused to respond to his 'love',he forced himself on her, simply because he was probably never taught that no matter what,he shouldn't be psysicaly abusive towards anione.

No,he needs to be punished coz if his a child in a man's body as u guys claim he wouldn't have tried to do it again, after seeing KT going thru all that pain & framing EKU in the first place. How come he also managed to drug kt out of the crowd?I think his using his disability as an advantage.

This is very well-written. I agree with it completely and it explains very properly why he raped her.

what happened to the statistics and credible sources you were gonna provide? oh well........
kyunki never makes sense but heres my attempt: mayenk raped kt because of sexual urges, with he didnt know should not be forced on another. yes men (and women) and born with the need to procreate in our dna (its part of evolution. but doesn't mean men are born rapists, wanting sex is not the same as forcing sex on a woman.
mayenk has clearly not been taught what is appropriate behavior (in relation to sex that is) the writers of that show and mayenks family have over emphasized a mentally challenged persons childlike qualities. mentally challenged people (in real life) are taught about sex and what are the do's and don'ts (both boys AND girls are taught). it doesnt seem like mayenk has been. however a normal person would realize he is doing something wrong when a girl your on top of doing things to is screaming her head.

ps once again whatever happened to the statistics and credible sources you were gonna provide?

also kyunki has no logic to it, so its difficult to apply sense, logic, reality and real life examples to it, its story and its characters

men are not born rapist, no scientist or any academic worth his/her salt would make such a claim.

Women don't ask to be raped, so ya, she was innocent. She was obviously drugged to the point of unconsciousness, so she didn't know what was really going on around her. Sure, Manthan has some sort of hand in all of this, and should be punished like Mayank, but what Damini did was absolutely wrong.

First of all,I would like to say,the statement I made earlier was not that all men are BORN RAPISTS.But it was that they are born POTENTIAL rapists(Sorry for the unclear statement). That is why we see and hear more about men being rapists than women. That is why men are more pysicaly violent than women!I am definatly not saying that women are not violent or that there have never been cases of women raping someone. But it is a fact that when it comes to psychial abuse, men are way more abusive. And I really doubt that it's mere coincidence.

Men are born with parts that women dont have and have more urges to engage in a psychical relationship. Is that not a fact?

Now,what causes men to either turn out to be rapists or not is how they are raised, the morals they are given and the society. If while being raised,a child is taught to not be pysicaly abusive to anyone no matter what and they don't have the constant pressure to be all manly and taught that both men and women are equal, then they wouldn't stoop to such a low like abusing a women like beating her up or rape. But if a man is brought up seeing his own father beat up his mother and is more pressured to be dominant over women, there is more of a chance of him pysically and sexually abusing a women.

In regards to that,I would also like to add...In some cases there are still men who are brought up well that abuse women and also men who are brought up badly but don't abuse women.

Now,the reason why Mayank raped KT was his urge to force himself on her when she rejected him.And just because it is shown in Kyunki does not mean that it is not true.Because many times when men don't feel accepted by a woman, they take advantage of thier pysical strenght and force themselves on women!

At last,I would like to add...I am not accusing all men of being rapists and I am not saying that every man is psychialy abusive...but hun,it's true that ALOT of them are!

Proof:

Basically what I am trying to saii:
The radical feminist movement does not say that all men are rapists ... they say that all men are potential rapists, for a number of reasons. This statement is not meant by radical feminists to accuse individual men of rape or of being capable of rape. Once again, confusion between commenting on "men" as a group and commenting on individual men occurs.
Although I am not sure that I agree that all men are potential rapists, I think it is important to understand all of the radical feminists' argument. So, I will try to explain the claim.

They say that men, in a society like ours, are socialized toward things like violence, sexual prowess, and domination. Little boys are encouraged to be forceful and demanding, young men are encouraged to become big studs ...
This pattern of encouraging violence and sexual acts in men make it easier to connect violence and sexual acts. Although not all men accept this connection (in fact, most don't), it is a correlation that is made easier to accept in the minds of men in a misogynist society. Further, sex is also considered to be an act of submission by the woman and domination by the man. This correlation encourages men to think that domination IS sex and that sex is not only better with a dominant/submissive paradigm, it is natural that way.

These mixed messages of sex, violence, and domination play into creating a rape culture, a place where men are not only allowed to be violent and dominating, they are rewarded for such behavior.

Because nobody exists outside of society, these socializations contribute to make every man a potential rapist. Other socializations, including religious beliefs, moral beliefs, or a general learned respect for women can combat this socialization and prevent the men actually becoming rapists.

This socialization of men into a rape culture is not intended to place blame on men who have never commited rape, it is to be blamed on society for teaching that these types of actions are acceptable.

The only way we can unlearn socialized behavior is to learn that that socialization exists in the first place. If we want to change the rape culture, then we must realize what messages we are inbibing without even realizing it.

Although I am not sure that I buy this argument, it is important to realize that the radical feminist claim that all men are potential rapists is more complicated than pointing at a man and saying "You would rape me."
