Manthan wants to leave Kyunki again! Amit Tandon, Manthan in Kyunki, says he's leaving the serial, unhappy with his role and intending to revive his singing career. Amit took a month off in January to get married, but returned to find that he'd been replaced on the show. Though his replacement was kicked out and Amit became Manthan again, he says he's no longer happy with the role and wants to leave. "I was not happy with my character and that's why I got replaced. But then the new Manthan was not accepted by the public so they got me back. Now I am not happy with my bit part so I'm leaving," he said, describing a turn of events as complicated as happenings on India's top serial itself. "I just can't walk out of the show suddenly; that would be unprofessional," says Amit, who came to the show after being recognised for his singing ability on the show Indian Idol, and says he's now going back to his singing career. "I don't want to do roles where I just have to stand around and say nothing," Amit said, "I'm leaving the show after the launch of my album, for which I have recorded four songs. It'll be ready and launched by June. But I will try and balance my acting and singing careers, and, if things work out here, I might not in fact leave the show. But I'm definitely going to concentrate on my singing." Amit said he hadn't yet spoken of leaving to Balaji, and would do so in June. His album does not yet have a title. Amit has done another serial before, Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai in which he played one of the leads. In Kyunki he plays the arrogant and spoilt son of Karan and Tanya.
