My first commercial ad was for Ponds Face Wash. I can't believe I got the part, considering my disastrous audition. The make-up artist had applied non-waterproof mascara on my lashes. So, when I splashed water on my face, I had black lines running down my cheeks! Luckily, photographer Farrokh Chothia decided to give me another chance, and I got the part.Incidentally, that's also the first time I met Hiten Tejwani, who featured in the commercial with me. Three years later, I worked with him in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and we've been pals ever since.
