Ekta's teacher's nomination

She's created programming that's defining Indian television programming even today. Ekta Kapoor has been recognised for her efforts with many an award. Now she has been nominated for another one - this time it is in the entertainment category of the 6th annual Teacher's Achievement Awards.

The award is scheduled to be handed over to the Balaji Telefilms creative director on 25 November at the Grand in New Delhi.

The Teacher's Achievement Awards have been instituted by Beam Global Spirits & Wine, the fourth largest spirits company in the world. The awards seek to honour individuals renowned for their achievements in the fields of Business, Entertainment, Sports and Communication.

Other nominees for the award this year include: Air Deccan managing director Captain Gopinath, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd CEO and managing director Malvinder Singh, Apeejay Surrendra group director Priti Paul, the driving force behind Oxford Bookstores, and Marico Industries Ltd managing director Harsh Mariwala.

Previous winners of the The Teacher's Achievement Awards include: theatre director, producer and actor Feroz Khan, film maker Nagesh Kukunoor, Shiamak Davar, Vikram Chandra, Yash Chopra, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Sonu Nigam and Ram Madhvani.
