Balaji Telefilms Q1 net rises 38.84%

Balaji Telefilms has posted 38.84% increase in net profit to Rs 173.770 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared with Rs 125.151 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Total income has increased by 17.31% to Rs 756.860 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 from Rs 645.170 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Balaji Telefilms (BTL) was incorporated as a private limited company and subsequently converted to a public limited company in Feb, 2000.

The company is promoted by Ravi Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. Its headquarter is in Mumbai. Balaji is currently providing content to most of the Hindi satellite channels, Gemini in Telugu and Udaya in Kannada.
