You may be familiar with Palak's tastes on Zee's Paaalkhi and Indu's preferences in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus, but here's a peek into what Karishma Tanna, the actress who portrays the two characters likes in real life. Body I am 5 feet 9 inches. I even got an offer to model in an upcoming fashion show, so you might just see me on the ramp in the near future. Clothes I hate getting dolled up. I always wear what I am comfortable in and this mostly means a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I don't follow trends blindly and consciously never make an effort to ape anyone's style. The most high-profile label in my wardrobe would be Levi's Accessories I love accessories and if you come to my house, you'll get a shock seeing the number of shoes and bags I own. At last count, I had over a hundred pairs of shoes and nearly half that number in bags. I've had to build a cupboard just for them. I do have a few Burberrys and Louis Vuittons, which I picked up in London and Paris. Leisure time I enjoy spending time with my parents or going for long drives by myself to Worli Seaface, Nariman Point or Bandra seaface in Mumbai. At times, I just like to be alone because I'm always around people and need time to myself. But I do enjoy going for drives with friends too. Food My mum had taught me to make a few dishes sometime ago, but now I've forgotten everything. As I enjoy eating my mother's food the most, I prefer it if she cooks at home. Movies Of the few films I've seen, only two really stand out in my mind, Baghban and Cliffhanger. I didn't care much for the rest! Books I have read exactly three books in my life, Chicken Soup For The Soul, Men Are From Mars And Women Are From Venus and The Power Of Positive Thinking. I liked them all, but prefer reading Reader's Digest magazines. Music I can listen to anything, from Jagjit Singh to Udit Narayan to George Michael to soft rock. I have varied musical tastes and enjoy tuning in, even while I'm relaxing between shots. Vacation I enjoy holidaying and head off to Goa or any of the hill stations near Mumbai whenever I have a short break. But if I have a long holiday on hand, I prefer going to beach resorts like the Maldives. As told to Ranjeet Rodricks |
