The last few days have been a nightmare for the small screen's Kumkum, Juhi Parmar. On May 14, Parmar lost her dear friend, Preeti Garud, who was an interior designer. Preeti's sudden death came as a shock to Juhi, who can't fathom life without her constant support.
"I still can't believe Preeti is no more," says a shaken Juhi. "I have not been shooting. I was totally taken aback when I heard it. I still can't accept she is no more.
Preeti was my best friend, so it is very difficult for me to even say anything. What do you say when someone very close to you passes away… what can I say?"
Dear friend
It is alleged that Preeti, a resident of Goregaon, committed suicide. Her husband, Madhusudan Garud, is a photographer and an ad filmmaker.
Preeti's daughter, Rakshita, had also acted with Juhi in Kumkum.
"It was all so unbelievable for me when I heard about it. My memories of Preeti will always be the way I knew her — a happy-go-lucky dear friend. The one who was always there for me."
Too many memories
Preeti had recently done up Juhi's new home at Palm Court Complex, Malad. "Preeti was a friend first, and an interior designer later for me. She designed every bit of my new home. I had left everything to her.
We shopped for every single item together. Each part of the house reminds me of her. It is so difficult for me," says a teary-eyed Juhi.
"On April 21, I had a pooja in the new house, and Preeti was all over the place then."
Juhi is shattered by Preeti's sudden demise. "Her last gift to me is the interior of my home. Everything here will remind me of her. I don't know how I will cope with this bereavement…."
