| | | Ronak Bhatiya was inspired by the film, Hanuman | Ronak Bhatiya (5) does not know how to read, but manages to study the Hanuman Chalisa every day. Ronak, who plays Dhruv Wadhwa in Star Plus's Kumkum, is a devotee of Lord Hanuman.
"I love Hanuman. Main pooja karta hoon bahut saare bhagwanon ki… Hanuman, Lakshmi… par sabka naam yaad nahin," he says.
Ronak, a student of Lernium School, Malad, can also be seen in Kahiin To Hoga, Sssh Koi Hai and commercials like Rajhans Tea, TVC Sharp Tone and Kawachi Mini Wonder.
Inspired by film
"He was inspired by the film, Hanuman," says his father Ravi Bhatiya, an ad filmmaker.
"He likes the stunts that Hanuman performed in the movie. When I bought the DVD of the film for him, the kit contained a small book of Hanuman Chalisa," his father adds.
Silence please
"Every morning, Ronak sits in front of God with the Hanuman Chalisa and turns every page and murmurs," says Bhatia.
"We don't understand what he's saying. He is too young to read and if we make a noise, he asks us not to disturb him. Even when we are in the car, he asks us to play the Hanuman Chalisa. Although we do not understand his behaviour, we feel Hanumanji has blessed him." |
Stuntman
Ronak says he likes to act, but loves doing stunts on the sets. The scene for Shh Koi Hai where he was surrounded by fire for eight minutes is his favourite stunt. "After the shooting, Ronak had fever for six days," says his father. In another scene in Crime Patrol, Ronak was made to stand on a pipe at a height of 20 feet.
His last stunt involved jumping from the roof of a six-floor building. "Initially, I was a bit worried, but I jumped anyway saying, 'Yes! I am a spiderman'," says the child.
Non-veg? No no
Ronak's father says that despite the family being non-vegetarians, Ronak is a vegetarian. "Ronak does not even know the difference between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. But whenever he is offered anything non-veg, he refuses it." |
