Maybe people have not "progressed" enough in middle class society in India. They are open about the emotional aspect about the husband wife relationship. So Sarla and Dadi both want Pragya to support Abhi emotionally but not sleep with him till they are considered married in front of society. I don't see any big deal in it.

i dnt know about others... but in muslims, we are not even allowed to marry divorced husband without halaala Nikah..😆

@bold.. yes..exactly.. 😊

A mother will try to protect her daughter from the society, if something like this happens, bhale hi apne ghar main use daanthe, maare, samjhaaye, kuch bhi kare!! She will not insult her in front of her enemies. She ran to MM to create a tamasha of her own daughter and then when she came to know that Pragya is not Pregnant, she said "Mera dil nahi maan raha tha, mujhe pata tha tu kuch galat nahi kar sakti" and then MM se khisak li. She should have told Abhi that Pragya is not pregnant and she'll never lie to me. They all are just indirectly helping Alia and Tanu to plot something worse for the next time. And why did Sarla Ma sent Pragya back with Abhi? What if Alia or someone else spreads this news everywhere? What are they going to do then?

In Tanu's case, there was a baby, Abhi was his boyfriend, and Tanu was a victim of circumstances. Well, they showed it that way. Now, Pragya is being shown as a characterless woman who slept with some man and is now carrying a baby.. writers have just destroyed the essence of Pragya's character.

@bold-😡 I hate them for this! Worse is ahead Mitu, they will fall lower

This show doesn't follow that culture na Kulsum?
It's mostly Sikhism and Hinduism in the show. Both the religions do not have such divorce rules.

The characters do not consider divorce separating them. For them kumkum is eternal and so is love and marraige.
Love and marraige is as much physical as emotional.

Hopefully they will progress further eventually or regress and ban it fully. It's not fun to put foot on both boats.

First of all, thank God, Pragya isn't pregnant.😛

So for argument's sake, I feel like Sarla ma expects Pragya to get approval from her mother to get close to Abhi. Looks like parents like her want to be involved in every aspect of their grown children's lives even after marriage. Married, divorced, or ml - I feel it doesn't make a difference to her. She doesn't want Pragya to do anything with Abhi without Sarla ma knowing. And if she does, then Pragya is a "bad" girl. Abhi is a wonderful boss as long as he gets them gifts, saves her daughter, and considers them as his family. But if he has an intimate relationship with the woman he loves, she'll go ballistic.

I didn't think it's about concern how Pragya will raise the child as a single mother. If she's worried about others talking, then why is she not worried others talking about her daughter's suicide? It was more about controlling Pragya's life. IMO, parents hide their insecurities and control issues under the name of "what will society think."

This makes sense! Maa sure is targeting the children for her helplessness, insecurities and foolishness.

I wonder why Chembur society is not talking about girl going around with her ex husband? Didn't they talk about girl marrying a rich guy while he had a GF? Didn't they talk about girl taking over husband's property? Anyways I wonder if those people come and ask when her daughter gets kidnapped, about to die, in jail etc..
I wonder why Maa cares so much about them!!

Ditto it's your life & your choice, you should not let society rule your life.

Anu I meant more like Maa doesn't worry if AbhiGya relationship stuff is benefiting her...but if the same causes issues.. she behaves this way.
I totally respect her concern about what to do with an unwed mom-baby.. but she could properly talk to Pragya privately about it expressing concern.. and not blow it up like this!

No wonder Taaliyah so easily manipulate Aroras!! At least Abhi and Daadi didn't like to beleive bad about Pragya but Aroras.. so insecure that at a drop of a hat behave like it's the end of the world.
Why do they even want a relationship with Abhi whose life is complicated by his evil sister, rich and famous status? They had a golden chance to stay away.. but they came back without any preparation to face the consequences!! Did they expect Taaliyah to sit and do nothing? They don't know how to handle the situation!! They better stay away from this mess!
