I understand what Maa is thinking and what you are saying Kulsum. What I am saying is Maa has full double standards is expecting ABhiGya to love each other like husband wife in every way but not physically.

GBSC, Maa's frustration, worry.. I totally understand. But she could have talked to Pragya calmly here.. given she knows Pragya loves Abhi.. and she ships AbhiGya..and feels Abhi has lot of love in his heart for Pragya too. Blasting Abhi and slapping Pragya was OTT and double standards.

Haven't watched the episode either.

But having a physical relationship is diff from being pregnant due to it.

Maybe this is what ma expected from pragya.

A pregnancy could have been avoided.

When there are so many precautions available,even when in doubt,pre or post the act.

I feel that ma was way too upset with tanu's pregnancy.

Of how her daughter's married life was almost totally ruined after that.

Just when things were getting sorted out n beginning to look bright,abhi met with an accident n memory loss.

Pragya is her only daughter as of now.

Ma is traumatised.

Her hopes of seeing her daughter happy seems to be getting messed up all the time.

She wants to see her daughter happy.

Pragya's happiness lies with staying with abhi.

Ma has accepted that.

Now this mess.

She believes that pragya is preggy with abhi's child.

She finds the situation hopeless.

It is this hopelessness that is driving her crazy.

Her daughter had not been careful.

In today's world one cannot control a lot of happennings.

Ma knows that.

But pregnancy can be.

Ma is behaving like a typical Indian mom.

It is just her instantaneous reaction.

Also ma wants to see abhi as a good sil for her.

I agree to whatever you said but just little trust on Pragya would have not made the situation so worse.

Point is ma was worried for pragya she herself has raised 2 daughter's alone & very well know how difficult it is her concern is very much understood BUT she should have atleast talked to pragya once herd her what she is trying to say & before insulting her own daughter in front of everyone she should have thought about that . Just a call from aaliya & she just created all this drama . She didn't even bothered to ask pragya whether this is true or not .

I have not watched the show from its beginning.

Many people consider pre marital sex a taboo, or sex between 2 people who are no longer married unacceptable. That's the way society is. Maybe people have not "progressed" enough in middle class society in India. They are open about the emotional aspect about the husband wife relationship. So Sarla and Dadi both want Pragya t support Abhi emotionally but not sleep with him till they are considered married in front of society. I don't see any big deal in it.

Even if I try to see things from Sarla's pov, I am not able to understand what made her behave so badly with her own daughter. A mother will try to protect her daughter from the society, if something like this happens, bhale hi apne ghar main use daanthe, maare, samjhaaye, kuch bhi kare!! She will not insult her in front of her enemies. She ran to MM to create a tamasha of her own daughter and then when she came to know that Pragya is not Pregnant, she said "Mera dil nahi maan raha tha, mujhe pata tha tu kuch galat nahi kar sakti" and then MM se khisak li. She should have told Abhi that Pragya is not pregnant and she'll never lie to me. They all are just indirectly helping Alia and Tanu to plot something worse for the next time. And why did Sarla Ma sent Pragya back with Abhi? What if Alia or someone else spreads this news everywhere? What are they going to do then?

So for argument's sake, I feel like Sarla ma expects Pragya to get approval from her mother to get close to Abhi. Looks like parents like her want to be involved in every aspect of their grown children's lives even after marriage. Married, divorced, or ml - I feel it doesn't make a difference to her. She doesn't want Pragya to do anything with Abhi without Sarla ma knowing. And if she does, then Pragya is a "bad" girl. Abhi is a wonderful boss as long as he gets them gifts, saves her daughter, and considers them as his family. But if he has an intimate relationship with the woman he loves, she'll go ballistic.

I didn't think it's about concern how Pragya will raise the child as a single mother. If she's worried about others talking, then why is she not worried others talking about her daughter's suicide? It was more about controlling Pragya's life. IMO, parents hide their insecurities and control issues under the name of "what will society think."
