It was her room. It was her room for more than 20 years but yet she felt strange when she entered the room. It was the room that she shared with her sister; the sister who loved her so much.
Bulbul was her carefree younger sister but she never failed to understand her elder sister's pain. She walked towards the window and remembered Suresh telling Goodnight' to her every night. Pragya's happiness was important to her sometimes more than her happiness. That was one of the reasons why Bulbul never forgave Suresh though Suresh always wished good for Pragya. She could never forget the fact that he played with her elder sister's feelings even though it was unintentional. She also sacrificed her love for Purab at one point for she didn't want Pragya to get into any problems and wanted her to have a happy life.
People tell Pragya is responsible and cares for others but if at all there was one person in the world who considered Pragya's happiness as their top most priority, it was Bulbul. May be it couldn't be termed as unconditional love' as Pragya also loved her sister the most and Bulbul knew it and cherished it.
Her eyes now fell on the big photo of her and Bulbul above the bed. She wanted to go near it and touch the photo but all that happened was that she went weak on her knees.
"Di", the word started echoing in her mind in different tones. Pragya could find her sister's mood from the tone in which she calls her "Di". She also got reminded of the last time she called her "Di" while trying to save her. The image of the Chandelier falling on her face brought tears. The memories her falling off the cliff in front of her and the fact that she couldn't do anything to stop her sister from dying was killing her. She felt like she did no good to a sister who loved her so much and did so much for her.Once Bulbul thought that she was the root of all her sister's problems. She even said that if she hadn't loved Purab, Abhi wouldn't have married Pragya for revenge and Bulbul is the reason for Pragya's suffering. But what happened at the end? Pragya's love or obsession for her husband took Bulbul's life. Pragya's thoughts were blaming her for all the mishappenings that happened in her and her sister's life. It wasn't new to Pragya. She rarely blamed anyone else for the problems in her life. She took responsibility of her life and was brave enough to face the consequences even though she became weak at times. But what Pragya lacked now was someone who always hated the idea of her being unhappy and someone who could go against anyone who hurted her.
Bulbul was so caring of Pragya that she left someone to love her sister like his own sister - Purab. If Pragya ever had a brother, she couldn't have imagined him to be better than Purab. How deeply would have Purab loved Bulbul that he considers her sister as his sister! What sin did he do to lose his wife right after marriage? She felt like she was the reason for all the problems in the universe.
She wished her favourite Buddhu would just pat her shoulder and scold her for crying. She wished she could just get to hug her. She wanted to tell her that nothing is worthier than her sister's life. She wished she could just tell god to take her life and give Bulbul back in return.
She gathered courage, went towards the bed and cuddled herself. She wished someone would cover her with blanket for it was one of the longest/loneliest night in her life but she didn't want anyone to console her and she deserved to be left alone.
